DH being an ungrateful **** or is it me?

DH moaned he didn’t get a breakfast in bed today. Fair enough I could have thought of that but it’s been a stressful few days for other reasons. This seemed to set the tone for the day. He moaned the table at the pub we booked was outside and too hot. DS shouldn’t have got him a big bar of chocolate as it will just melt this week and he doesn’t want to eat it in one go today (he doesn’t keep chocolate in the fridge).

He has had a couple of drinks tonight which he doesn’t usually do on a Sunday night and I’ve come upstairs after he’s insinuated he ‘deserves’ a particular sex act to salvage the day (something I am not against doing but only with some notice for his birthday etc).

I feel like he has been totally ungrateful - nice cards, chocolates, a meal out, dinner cooked at home etc.

OP posts:

My DH got a 95p chocolate orange. He put it in the fridge. He and DC went to visit his parents. I had the day to myself. Win win.

OP your DH sounds insufferable. Do you really want to spend your life with this man who is manipulative and childish.

Now I’ve moved on from the sex act with notice to where on earth you are still getting 95p chocolate oranges?! Not seen them under £2 in a long time. Unless it’s an Aldi version I’ve not seen and not Terry’s?!

ChristmasCwtch · 22/06/2026 08:31

He’s a moany twit!!

I’d love to know what this prize specimen of fatherhood did/prepared for Mother’s Day?

Also, what sex act needs prior notice and get deployed once a year? Sounds awful. If it’s that unpalatable OP, and it’s not something you happily do, you shouldn’t do it at all! Tell him to fuck off!

Surgz · 22/06/2026 08:19

It happens annualy
I thought was a clever pun 🤣🤣

Squirrel60 · 22/06/2026 08:18

And you're still with that obnoxious prick?

I'd have dumped the dumb-dumb years ago!

As for sex demands ... he's obviously a wanker!

NoSausage · 22/06/2026 08:15

You know how you know if you're being unreasonable? Because if you imagine telling him you're going to complain to your parents and his about his behaviour, he would be humiliated rather than curious how someone else would perceive it.

Case in point, it is disgusting to insinuate wanting a sex act to "make up" for your failings.

How can he be so childish as to object to storing the chocolate in the fridge and taking it out 20 minutes before he wants it? His child chose it and he's not the least bit grateful. Tell me with a straight face you've never faked liking a gift from him.

We did far less and had a much nicer day because we're happy to have eachother.

He's a bad egg.

Flowerlovinglady · 22/06/2026 08:13

Remind him that it's Father's Day, not Partner's Day.

Spookyspaghetti · 22/06/2026 08:13

Does he realise he’s not your father?!

StooOrangeyForCrows · 22/06/2026 07:57

FTR, by next Fathers Day, I would not be around. I can't stand whinging bastards when they have nothing to whinge about and his whole persona would make me want to book a holiday with cliffs. Very high cliffs.

DustOffAndMoveOn · 22/06/2026 07:50

@Fathersdaycry did you ‘salvage’ the day?

IslandAdventure · 22/06/2026 07:49

How do your efforts at parenting compare with his?

Does he spend a similar amount of time, effort, energy at being a dad, as you do being a mum?

Father’s day is about celebrating him as a father. My father made minimum effort at being a dad so he got a card.

It’s the children who are thanking him for his efforts and your role is to facilitate them in that.

Complaining about the gift is vile. Complaining about the lunch is vile too.

Asking for a sex act to make up for it is beyond gross.

Tryagain26 · 22/06/2026 07:48

Is this real?
If so Is he 5?
He sounds like an ungrateful child. Children can be forgiven because they are still learning. He isn't .
I couldn't be with someone so completely self centred and selfish

DustOffAndMoveOn · 22/06/2026 07:45

OneLimePombear · 21/06/2026 22:52

Did you stick something 5 inches long up his arse hole on Mother’s Day?

This is the funniest post so far!

Wishimaywishimight · 22/06/2026 07:45

Not putting chocolate in the fridge is madness, it tastes so much better when chilled.

I'm focussing on that bit.

Missohnoyoubetterdont · 22/06/2026 07:42

Father’s Day is made up shite to sell cards. Anal is not a Father’s Day requirement - as far as I am aware. I feel like you have chosen badly (OP) your husband is a sulky entitled manchild.

monkeysox · 22/06/2026 07:40

Fathersdaycry · 21/06/2026 22:32

Similar to today, I did get breakfast though.

Did you get your favourite set act.

Mine is
Sort the kids and house out and give me a fucking day off.

knottywig · 22/06/2026 07:38

Christ, my kids (all adults) collectively gave my husband back the 2 presents he bought himself (I keep telling him if he wants something for whatever present day it is, not to damn we’ll buy himself stuff before the day and send links to the kids, one day he’ll listen!) and a card which due to different times they woke up, and the rush to get out of the house, he got after we got back from going out to lunch where he got incredibly drunk. My Mother’s Day consisted of me getting flowers and a card but cooking for my parents and all the clear up, whilst he sorted everyone out with drinks including himself and getting completely drunk! OP, your husband is a pathetic dick!

keepswimming38 · 22/06/2026 07:31

It’s Father’s Day! You’re not his daughter. What’s going on with men? LTB!

Busybeemumm · 22/06/2026 07:30

Bobajobob · 22/06/2026 07:27

Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are a load of bollocks. We don’t bother with either and I have never cared. One year, however, my husband did do something and I couldn’t help noticing that the bunch of flowers was rather small and the chocolates were not my favorite, I didn’t say anything though because I’m not a complete twat. People always seem disappointed whatever you do. Your DH sounds like a selfish immature brat!

Busybeemumm · 22/06/2026 07:26

OP so tell us how the night ended? He sounds like a complete dick of a man child. Hope you told him to fuck off.

Starlight7080 · 22/06/2026 07:25

Have some self respect! Its fathers day. At no point does that mean he deserves sex. Especially not a sex act that requires you to have notice. We all know what that means and really health wise you should say no. Its awful for you and will eventually cause you problems. And well its just grim.
He sounds like a spoilt brat.
My dh picked his fave tea i cooked it. Our kids got him some thoughtful little gifts and spent the day with him. He isnt my father i dont owe him anything same as him on mothers day. But then he would not demand sex just because he is the father of my children . That would be a mutual decision based on both of us wanting it . Major red flag behaviour.

Llamallamafruitpyjama · 22/06/2026 00:45

I can’t fathom it either because ew. But it’s really shitty when they know women don’t have a prostrate gland and have no pleasure from it. Surely it feels ‘tight’ because it’s not naturally lubricated. We have vaginas for a reason, for consensual sex we also want.

Women can suffer prolapses and do more commonly than men too! More at risk with hormones and childbirth etc. It’s significantly less risky for men but I still know one man who had reconstructive work done because of a previous boyfriend of his.

Edited

But it’s really shitty...
Soooo shitty doing this sex act which we all know is anal.

PetulaGordeno · 22/06/2026 07:02

There was a thread on here last year where the DH did this on his birthday.
It ended up being the start of the end of the marriage.
Ick to infinity.
I love chocolate, don’t put it in the fridge, I’ll have a bar as a gift in a heatwave. Any time.

Lucyladybug · 22/06/2026 07:01

Whatever he wants going in / up / on ...after a comment implying deserves..would make everything clamp shut

Busybeemumm · 22/06/2026 07:00

Ibi · 21/06/2026 22:10

I’m intrigued now about the act! What sort of preparations do you need to do that requires advanced warning and is an annual event?! I’m expecting literal fireworks, possibly perfectly timed to a soundtrack.

...and is an annual event?!

Sure you mean an anal event 😅
