To wonder why people jump to calling people who murder other prisoners heros?

Ive just seen something on facebook where 3 men have been charged for a killing another in prison. He killed a young child. People are praising these men, calling them a hero's, saying they should be released, have their sentences reduced.... all while forgetting these people are also serious criminals to be on the same wing. Apparently 2 of them were in for murder of women.
I would also believe they did this because of something that happened in prison (debt/gang related) not because of the reason he was in.

in prison the prisoners have their own form of justice and punishment right or wrong.
it is ok sayin that some deplorable person is now dead but it still makes the ones who did the act murderers for which they should be punished.
trouble for every person such as Ian Huntley they kill there are lots more so where does it stop?

RapunzelHadExtensions · 21/06/2026 16:13

It's also puts the prison officers at much more risk. The killer of Huntley had killed his pregnant girlfriend. I felt so much for her family reading the comments, someone saying he should get a knighthood 😥

CoffeeCantata · 21/06/2026 16:11

I agree, OP.

Murder is always horrible. I was disgusted by the celebrations by some people of the murder of Ian Huntley a few months ago.

He was never going to get out of prison. A life sentence IS the punishment - and I totally support his incarceration - I'm not an apologist for him. The prison murder was pure brutality by nasty people and should not be praised by anyone.

Also, being less high-minded, frankly sitting in prison for years on end, or even for the rest of your life, is a much more horrific prospect than dying.

Who would want to watch that? Possibly the sort of people who would end up playing the game at some point anyway.

like a real life squid games
free entertainment and reduce prison populations and reoffending

I was just reading that one of the guys is in there for killing a 24year old woman a few years ago. Her body was not found. He told them that he had knowledge of where she was and when they took him for questioning he attacked an officer.

Still reading comments on various pages (bloody algorithms on facebook) that these people are so brilliant.

@Femalemachinest

I know, it's disgusting. I cannot comprehend how so many people just do not care about these people's prior victims.

I understand taking pleasure in the murder of someone who committed atrocities, I can even understand people saying "well done" to the killers for this one specific crime.

But to consider them brilliant people as a whole is so shockingly disrespectful to their other victims. If the people making these comments are to be consistent, they should also be calling for the deaths of the murderers due to the previous awful crimes they have committed.

They’re not heroes, but however the vile monsters meet their end, it’s a bonus for humanity. Nothing to mourn there.

@OnlyMabelInTheBuilding

Nobody is saying that their deaths should be mourned. Only that it's ignorant and insensitive to champion their murderers, when these people have raped and murdered other, completely innocent, people.

Splendid! Let's allow all the nonces etc to get murdered by these brave, brave heroes, who must have been sentenced to a crime they didn't commit.
However, the next day these brave heroes turn on the prison officers, who are there to keep these heroes safe. What then?

Honestly, some of you are living out some fucked up murder porn fantasies and you are all fucking weird.

They are not heroes. I don't agree with the death penalty. But if we were to have the death penalty, then it would need to be carried out as humanely as possible. Not some lags stabbing a fellow lag with homemade daggers.

SisterTeatime · 19/06/2026 22:10

I agree that people who think this are not very intelligent.

It does worry me that prisons seem to be getting more and more violent. While few of us would shed tears over any of those recently murdered in prison, with the prison population growing and more whole life and very long minimum terms being handed down - and I don’t disagree with that at all - there are more and more inmates with nothing to lose, in increasingly stressful and dangerous environments.

I don’t believe in the death penalty but I admit to thinking maybe those with whole life terms could be put in induced comas … I don’t really think that, but I don’t know what th solution is longer term except massive investment in the judicial and prison systems, which won’t happen, or a massive reduction in male violence and criminality, which won’t happen either.

dudsville · 19/06/2026 22:06

There's a grey area that isn't heroic but has a purpose. The prisoners have made choices that led to imprisonment. They know that committing muder whilst in prison is going to make their prison stay longer. They aren't heros, but they're in a grey area where they can do things others can't because the cost to them is less. It's not vigilante in the case of someone imprisoned for their crimes killed by other criminals. But for me the reason I'm not comfortable with it is because we know people get wrongly convicted on occasion. I have no interest at all in trying to rehabilitate people who've hurt chosen, I'm not that good of a soul, but I do want this to be left to the professionals and experts to decide.

Whyohwhy1973 · 19/06/2026 17:39

Will you offer to go in afterwards and drag all the dead bodies out and clean it up, ready for the next round? And will you volunteer to decide who goes in to this battle venue? Or is just every single person who commits murde etc? And do you really want to live in a medieval society that supports this? Do you want it live streamed? Or a viewing gallery for the relatives? I get the emotion that sits behind your view but I bet you wouldn't actually want this to happen?

I’d do it as long as I was paid 👍

Tbh if a particular prison wing contained all murderers, rapists and nonces, I’d happily support a Battle Royale style scenario where they can all kill each other.

This would be a good tv show 😂😬

I don't see it as a win win at all. People should not be getting attacked/killed in prisons. If they can do that to fellow inmates, they can do it to staff.

Which one of them did. He stabbed a detective who went there to interview him.

SeaShellsSanctuary1 · 19/06/2026 21:38

It's never going to be a good thing when people like to pick and choose when to be pro violence.

These "heroes" are the ones killing the male members of your family and raping your female friends. If youre OK with that then something is very wrong

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 19/06/2026 21:31

I am never sad when I hear about child murderers/rapists being killed in prison. One less of the sick bastards in the world.

LadyVioletBridgerton · 19/06/2026 21:18

Agree 100% OP. The guy that killed Ian Huntley for example had killed several people and one of them was pregnant. That was the only reason he had access to Huntley. For people to be cheering and saying he’s so wonderful is an insult to his victims.

DontBuyAnotherBook · 19/06/2026 21:00

All three are murderers. One murdered an old lady. Definitely shouldn't have sentences reduced.

FunMustard · 19/06/2026 20:57

I'm not going to celebrate another murder, but equally I'm not going to feel bad that a child murderer is dead.

I do think it's ghoulish to crow about it.

XenoBitch · 19/06/2026 20:44

PolkaDotPorridge · 19/06/2026 20:08

It’s a win win, awful disgusting child killer is murdered and awful disgusting murderers that were already in jail for being murderers get more jail time and will never ever get out.

BEAchDays2 · 19/06/2026 20:44

Ultimately I think it’s because people are a bit thick.

RaininSummer · 19/06/2026 17:45

I don't care if a child killer gets terminated in prison as I would like capital punishment for them but I definitely don't think the killers are heros or should be released etc. They are also extremely violent people who take the law into their own hands.
