Noted that Harriet Sperling was at Ascot today .... as the press keep reporting she's an NHS nurse do you think someone swapped shifts with her today. Will her roster be flexible for the new jaunts???

@scienceteachersarefun I also have a cleaner. 😂

What?!?
Ok. You've got to be trolling now.

I’m currently sitting in cafe Nero. I don’t really fancy Ascot. Pretty sure my ward is managing just fine without me. 😂

Oh my god! You can afford the coffee in Nero?! So, a huge amount of wealth as well as leisure time!
I'm glad the OP has highlighted the shame of the nursing profession.
It'll be Centre Parcs next.

I’m an nhs nurse and an absolute princess. I chose not to go to ascot but went to Aldi and the gym instead. I am not a slacker like whoever you are discussing.

Guess what, nurses are allowed days off! What’s more we can request them!

DaisyDooley · 18/06/2026 10:10

I hope you wrote an equally nasty thread about Victoria Starmer who certainly had multiple days off when the election was on /afterwards.
I’ve searched @EnormousGinplease but I can’t find it.
Can you provide a link?

Crumpled86 · 17/06/2026 22:30

Such a strange post. She probably booked leave, many people do after a wedding.

HorrorPudding · 17/06/2026 22:18

@scienceteachersarefun that’s definitely what happened. You can tell by looking at her that she’s that sort.

Thebigonesgetaway · 17/06/2026 22:11

Imagine being so jealous you actually go to the effort of starting this bonkers thread, all so you can see if you can get other women to join you and give her a kicking, for what, being attractive, happy, wealthy?

it’s utterly shameful op and only reflects on you. You misjudged your audience hugely, we maybe vipers, but we don’t do this.

I’d suggest popping back to the daily fail comments section.

Awful. Nurses, eh?

Terrible ;-)

Probably even took the plastic plates from the play kitchen too.

It's shocking, isn't it? No doubt she took food from the children's ward for their picnic as well. Shameless.

Yes, @EnormousGinpleaseI think you’re right on the money with your suspicions that she is never ever at work! it’s absolutely clear that she has left children crying and unattended on a ward without a backward glance just so she can swan about in a dress she shouldn’t be able to afford on some royal jaunt. All this while her patients are dropping like flies of some medieval plague while her valiant NHS colleagues hold things together knowing that from now on she will spend all her time drinking champagne and kicking the serfs.

She has definitely got above herself and not being at her NHS post on a Wednesday is the sort of thing that could finally topple our healthcare system. I expect she flashed her wedding certificate at the hospital HR director and told him her Wednesdays are now ring-fenced for spending the day with chinless Barbour wearers.

Not being snarky or bitchy as accused ... merely pointing out the juxtaposition and my somewhat jaded view of working in the NHS.

If you work in the NHS you’ll be aware that nurses, like everyone else, are entitled to annual leave. She got married what, a week ago? Do you think none of your colleagues booked two weeks’ leave for their own weddings/honeymoons?

Don’t you get annual leave?

GCAcademic · 17/06/2026 20:19

Get back to work, OP. You’re not paid to have any spare time to spend on Mumsnet!

Gettingaggy · 17/06/2026 20:15

I work for the NHS and I get annual leave. Took a day today for my child’s sports day. Would probably rather have used it to go to Ascot TBH 😬

Gonners · 17/06/2026 20:09

I think she should be taking a crash course in Being Queen, because there are only 18 people ahead of her husband in the line of succession. And if they delete Andy (and therefore presumably his descendents?) Peter Phillips will shoot up the ranking. Best to be prepared, eh?

This reminds me last time I was in hospital one of the nurses used the toilet she didn't even have her mandatory catheter bag fitted so save time that personal body functions require. She even coughed.
Must go to my MP.
Tell you what nidge won't have any of this slacking.

Don’t bother with your MP, report her to the NMC. She doesn’t deserve to be a nurse.

We survive on claps and rainbows.

Toilet breaks are for losers.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 17/06/2026 20:02

Yup. Nurses should just be glad they are taken outside once a year and walked around so they can see the daylight.

Oh, no - that’s pit ponies - nurses don’t get that.

Christmas2026 · 17/06/2026 20:01

EnidVance · 17/06/2026 19:40

Next you'll be taking toilet breaks and dinner breaks.

No we won’t. 😂

Damn right see that you don't.
It's a bloody liberty. 😆
