Who here would honestly happily contribute to George’s education costs?

Reported to be £68000 a year at Eton.

Yeah, I'll pitch in with a bag of frozen peas. That should cover my share until he does his A levels.

I live across the pond where my taxes are being used to remodel a house for a trashy orange man to fantasize that he's Louis XIV, so I don't have a stake, but if given a choice, I'd rather pay someone's school fees.

I would also like to read some articles featuring disappointed social climbers who are sending their kids to Marlborough thinking all the Wales kids would end up there.

Nobody's taxes are paying for George's school fees. His family will pay for his education.

This is just shit stirring by the hit and run OP.

AwksBut · 16/06/2026 17:57

I'd rather have an educated future king than an uneducated one tbh
William seems to have done well coming out of Eton
Many PMs are ex-Eton, and we vote for them to run the country

What's the real issue, OP

Look how that’s panned out recently…

countrylife00 · 16/06/2026 21:02

This is not a cash grab. You know it.
The money will be reinvested to generate low cost housing in 5 areas.
Farmers are being offered their farms to buy. What an amazing opportunity.
If only others would do such wonderful things.
I know you are struggling to be kind, but go on , give it a go. It costs nothing.

lol.

The farmers cannot raise what is being asked , as well YOU know

We are told a tale but we must wait for decades to see the result. Who will be back to check on the trumpeted promises?
That’s the grift.

Anyone reading who wants more information please look up Norman Baker , he’s an ex privy councillor who has had plenty to say on the Duchy rip off

His classic ‘ And what do you do ?’
His latest ‘ Royal Mint , National Debt’

I challenge any remaining royalists to read one.

Dorothyperky · 16/06/2026 21:16

@ThisJollyTaupeGuide I can tell you a number of large houses sold recently in Marlborough due to a 'leak' that prince George was going to be a pupil in September. If they've not exchanged it might not happen!

PyongyangKipperbang · 16/06/2026 21:15

Well done @Honest23

You have managed a real good score here.

So far we have had hatred for.....

The royals
Benefit claimants
Politicians
Donald Trump
Illegal Immigrants
VAT on private school fees

Pro rage baiting

Araminta1003 · 16/06/2026 21:14

It is probably cheaper for the taxpayer sending him there than full security cost at an average comprehensive. Considered that one?

MissMoneyFairy · 16/06/2026 21:12

Backedoffhackedoff · 16/06/2026 19:03

Would I fuck.

would be nice if they just went to their local school.

Eton is a local school

Best comment. Made me laugh

Now I have an earworm and all I can see in my head is a sausage flying across the dining room!

myrtleWilson · 16/06/2026 21:10

@Ukisgaslit how do we know this "But we do know that William does not pay all the tax that is due'

countrylife00 · 16/06/2026 21:10

Giantmarshmallowbum · 16/06/2026 21:07

They can be looked up online. We are talking William and Kate here, not The Princess Royal.

They don’t do the hours I do.

What job and hours do you do?
William has a full diary and Catherine is a mother to 3 children. She also carries out Royal Engagements.
You obviously have a lot of free time, all the time spent on MN

Dolphinsarejerks · 16/06/2026 21:10

I’d rather my taxes go on his education than to an illegal immigrants housing

FFS I never thought I would be one to defend them but she is recovering from cancer!

BlueLegume · 16/06/2026 21:09

@Honest23 has anyone asked you for a contribution to the fees?

ThisJollyTaupeGuide · 16/06/2026 21:08

I wouldn't assume he'd meet the grades. Despite their expensive educations, the Royals aren't that clever.

That said, surely it was a given he'd go to Eton. That's literally what the place is for.

Literally all of them "aren't that clever...." ? What is your evidence for that? Have you seen all of their qualification grades? I will agree that some are less academic than others but that doesnt mean anything.

My sister was far less academic than me but because she chose a career that suited her abilities she has far outstripped me professionally and financially!

Giantmarshmallowbum · 16/06/2026 21:07

MinglyMadly · 16/06/2026 19:54

Barely any hours worked?! You've got to be kidding. You obviously have no idea about the working lives of the royals.

They can be looked up online. We are talking William and Kate here, not The Princess Royal.

CruCru · 16/06/2026 21:04

bellocchild · 16/06/2026 19:41

They need to send him somewhere secure, close to home, and where he can be a normal teenager away from the glare of the media. He'll be in the public gaze all too soon.

I was going to say something like this.

ThatCyanCat · 16/06/2026 21:04

PyongyangKipperbang · 16/06/2026 20:18

OK lets run with this.

He has had a very good education so far, so its fairly safe to assume he will meet the grade for grammar, which is his right as a child in the education system. Then there would be fucking uproar because "They can afford to send him private, how dare they take a state school place from a very able student who's parents can't afford it?!! And who is going to pay for the extra security for him and his school mates because now they will also be at higher risk too!!".

So whatever they do they will be wrong by someone, so they might as well do right by their son.

I wouldn't assume he'd meet the grades. Despite their expensive educations, the Royals aren't that clever.

That said, surely it was a given he'd go to Eton. That's literally what the place is for.

Weekmindedfool · 16/06/2026 21:04

And OP is nowhere to be seen…

madaboutpurple · 16/06/2026 21:04

I'm sure the local comp is actually fantastic .It would be anticipated by his family that he attends a good school.

BlueLegume · 16/06/2026 21:04

@smallglassbottle my own children went to independent schools. Minor ones. Ones where we cut our cloth accordingly. Was it worthy it , Absolutely. Why would anyone not try to help their kids have a better start in life?

countrylife00 · 16/06/2026 21:03

IcedPurple · 16/06/2026 21:01

Where did you expect him to go, Grange Hill?

😍😁😆

Now I've got the theme from that show in my head (showing my age here!) and I know I won't get rid of it all evening!

Best comment. Made me laugh

Teado · 16/06/2026 21:03

Billy Idle and Doolittle will cough up for it I think.

Ukisgaslit · 16/06/2026 20:45

I made a point of stating ‘not a bought and paid for poll’

Yougov is a private for profit company . Nothing to do with the government ( in case you thought it was official) .

These polls are influenced heavily by the wording of the question

I repeat - we have never been asked.

There is no proof whatsoever that the Windsors are ‘popular’
Quite the opposite. What decent person would profess support for that mob of Andrew protectors and Epstein cover ups ?

Edited

Polling companies are accutely aware of the importance of question phrasing, they are accutely aware of the variance of polling in specific localities - hence the challenge around the Gorton and Denton by-election because of the geographical and population differences.

What you're really mad at is that the statistically valid polling doesn't match your views
