AIBU to feel sorry for Harper? If BB has an issue with his parents it shouldn’t mean that he also stops talking to his siblings. It’s equally as sad if the parents did choreographed the letter/visit.

Brooklyn Beckham accuses parents of using Harper for 'choreographed' house visit

Harper Beckham was spotted making a failed attempt to reunite with her brother Brooklyn, with a spokesperson dismissing the visit as another stunt from 'brand Beckham'

@dayswithaY absolutely spot on. It really is quite interesting to witness. VB will stop at nothing and more is to follow. The more BB makes his own way the worse they will get. They feel threatened by him now. He no longer is the helpless child.

I too hope Harper makes enough in her own name to break free, or Brooklyn will be able to help her out. One of those kids is going to have a serious mental health crisis. Harper looks extremely anxious. Isn't that what they always said about younger Brooklyn, what an anxious mess he was? I feel so extremely sorry for her. She is probably not allowed to say NO ever.

D&V are behaving like a pair of hysterical brats, thriving off the drama.

Any decent parents who had genuine concern for their son would respect his wishes, not respond to any comments and quietly hope and pray that he finds his way back to them eventually.

Their problem is they never envisaged that one of their employees/children would ever have enough financial power to break free and not need their wealth or status to get by.

Brooklyn fell on his feet with the Peltz family. Cruz and Romeo remain tied to their parents financially as a part time model and an aspiring musician aren’t going to support the lifestyle they are used to.

Harper is the new cash cow, she is being groomed to be a teen influencer and skincare mogul, which is why she doesn’t need GCSEs. I just hope she makes enough money to break free.

The wheels are finally coming off for the Beckhams, I hope people start to see them as the scheming narcs they both are.

I can't remember if they still own the trademark to his name??? If they do they might get a few quid off the back of this. Maybe it'll cheer them up!

I think part of the fallout was him not agreeing to let them extend when he married

Why is it tasteless @TheGingerCatsWhiskas ?
I think he's dead right - they have made money out of him all his life and now it's his turn!

The Peaty mother and aunt fed similar sob stories to the press. They really all follow the same script. The PR thing today is highly manipulative too.

I will admit that when the Peaty story very first happened I felt quite sorry for his mum as it seemed like maybe AP had had his head turned by the showbiz side of the Ramseys. Then the sad face Daily Mail stories and Beckham style leaks started happening and I quickly saw the light.

A narc is a narc at the end of the day, regardless of money or status.

And when he has been used as a prop all through his childhood and most of his life to garner attention for his parents, I actually think fair play to him on this occasion for turning the tables.

Posh & Becks are showing what raging narcs they both are by leaking the inconsolable story in response.

Yup. He is an adult, he can make any decision he wants. He could even change his mind or have double standards if he wants. That is a big difference to being controlled as a child and young adult.

Oh is it? I didn't understand it like that. It could mean anything.

Of course VB will think it is all about them, so typical. Do they not wonder for a second how often their son might have been 'inconsolable' during his life with them and then going NC. It is such a hard thing to do.

Just watched the advert and it looked to me like Brooklyn is poking fun at himself, ma & pa Becks and the sheer ridiculousness of the situation.

ETA: can't are anything in it for anyone to be "inconsolable" about though.

Edited

Yes agreed - it’s done good humouredly and most of his door dash ads take the mick out of himself (something his father is unable to do and VB uses as a shield for her own insecurities).

I think the timing is unfortunate with the harper thing.

BeardySchnauzer · 16/06/2026 09:48

its clearly referencing the estrangement with his parents with the watch and the unread letters. I expect the end of the campaign will reference something different though

I think it’s because he asked them to stop all contact and mentioning of him so for him to reference the fallout is a bit hypocritical

but you could also argue that they are dining out on the fallout so he’s giving them a taste of their own medicine!!

How does he reference the fallout?

I don't get at all how the door dash advert is problematic - can someone explain?

Same here.

Is he not just saying/doing as told?

I don't get the outrage.

What’s sauce for the goose and all that

they've gone on complete attack now - inconsolable apparently. You wouldn’t think they were the parents in all this tbh - they behave like he’s a rogue employee.

they’re not behaving as if they want a reconciliation

TheGingerCatsWhiskas · 16/06/2026 09:35

Have you guys seen his new door dash advert where he’s cashing in on this?

I revoke what I said as that’s just tasteless !!

It is quite common that it is the sensitive children whose nervous system simply cannot cope with the dysfunction and they are having to remove themselves to survive. Literally.

The others may simply be able to go along with it. I think they have been abused too, but probably a bit differently. They also weren't the first borns, so pressures will have been different.

If you look at the photos etc over the years you can also see that he seemed to be an emotional crutch for his mother. He lived through the Madrid debacle too before his father got better at managing the affairs/came to agreement with V

BeardySchnauzer · 14/06/2026 13:45

All the things he said about his parents expecting them to be part of the brand and miss school for their events etc is playing out in real time with Harper.

as the first, they messed up by letting him become a figure of fun. I don’t envy him his upbringing regardless of the wealth

Agree, the most shocking thing in all this is that she seems to have been away from school for quite a while.

Calliopespa · 16/06/2026 09:13

Also, people are quick to imagine life is simple for "privileged" children.

The pressures are obviously different, but not necessarily less. He couldn't really have won with the photography: if people had liked it, it would have been nepotism got him there, and if they didn't, well, still nepotism but with added derision.

Other side of the coin: he has had privileges a lot of people don't have, we all have challenges to navigate, and he is just going to have to find a way of reconciling the rough with the smooth. People should stand back and let him do so.

Absolutely. If you realise as a child of any age that your parents don't actually want to know you, mould you, don't listen and don't take your needs into account it is absolutely devastating whether they have money or not. The damage to a child's brain will be the same.

Twatalert · 16/06/2026 09:18

Calliopespa · 16/06/2026 09:09

I've always thought - from afar obviously - Brooklyn looked like a sensitive child and a bit overwhelmed in a lot of the circumstances he ended up in. That's why I thought all the negativity around his photography etc was pretty cruel.

The other two boys look much more relaxed about it all...

But I do realise we all make mistakes to some degree as parents and I suppose their circumstances upped the stakes on that front. There were plenty of people and pressures helping them make those mistakes.

In my view, a lack of education and not venturing out into the world is all part of the control by the parents.

I think this may be so.

BB is called thick, entitled, smug.

Maybe he is.

He doesn't seem to have had chance or been encouraged to pursue anything long term though.

GingerBeverage · 16/06/2026 09:13

I do wonder if he's simply fallen into another dysfunctional family set up. It's not as if he knows what a normal family looks like.
