Is my bathroom wall art ‘tacky’

Please settle a light hearted disagreement…Hubster says the new photo/poster I’ve put up in the downstairs loo will be considered ‘tacky’ by any visitors.

It’s the Mona Lisa but she’s holding her nose - you can see it on Google.

YABU - I agree with your Hubster
YANBU - it’s harmless

Its your house, fill it with things that make you happy! One person's tacky, is another person's treasure!

Yerdug · 11/06/2026 18:57

Nearly as tacky as "hubster". Boak.

I’m not too sure I’d find it funny OP. Mostly folk will just be going for a pee?? and in that case are you commenting on the woman’s anatomy(?!) Maybe for a kiddies loo as it’d be a funny thing for kids. ☺️

Eh? How bizarre. Not sure why that people mainly going for a wee will be a comment about women's anatomy. Men also wee you know? It's more a comment on people having a smelly poo. It's not my cup of tea but there's nothing massively offensive about it.

😁
I have pretensions to tasteful decor but must admit to a secret longing to have some of those highland cow in various poses prints eg coo on loo, in curlers smoking a fag, in bath etc etc.

It’s your house. Do what makes you happy.

Of all the 'art' and pictures in the world to choose!

Its Chav-tastic level tacky!

Dizzydrizzy · 11/06/2026 18:53

Are you rage baiting with Hubster or do you actually say that out loud?

CheerfulYank · 11/06/2026 18:53

I think it’s funny, and usually I think most things are tacky

I refuse to use the sickly ‘D’ reference!

Maybe husband then?

Besidemyselfwithworry · 11/06/2026 18:52

DP works with someone who has
a “Man-u-loo” their downstairs loo is done in Manchester United wallpaper which I think is much worse than this!!!
he did it when his wife was away for a weekend and she came back to it / it would have been stripped the next day if that was my house!

I haven’t voted because while I personally think it’s tacky it’s also harmless. You should have what you like in your own house but as it’s your husband’s house too so there might be a negotiation to be had.

He’s accepted it’s staying..he gets little say in decor options, not that he’s usually interested. He gets to decide on the more manly decisions around DIY etc.

Tacky, but not as bad as 'hubster'

This, for sure

I love altered art like this but I do draw the line on toilet humour sorry I feel it jus gives me the ick

A toilet is a great place for toilet humour.

FrootyCider · 11/06/2026 18:50

I have a souvenir sign from Germany which says 'Ausfahrt' and points at the toilet. I think it's hilarious and if my guests disagree...tough! It's not their house!
Keep your picture! Nothing wrong with a bit of tacky sometimes.

allthegoldicouldeat · 11/06/2026 18:50

Couldn’t get past hubster.

KitchenReno · 11/06/2026 18:50

It sounds tacky. Like something from Temu.

I've been trying to find something for my kitchen wall but I just can't find anything that feels like its not some generic kitchen art from amazon or cheesy.

I’ve got that! Makes me smile

AnonymityAnonymity · 11/06/2026 18:50

Just had look OP.
She looks as though she has forgotten her hanky and is blowing her nose with her fingers. Pretty gross. I wouldn't like that poster in my home at all.

Jackiepumpkinhead · 11/06/2026 18:49

Tacky, and ‘hubster’ is grim.

Greyblankie · 11/06/2026 18:49

The local cafe has that pic in their bogs OP but Mona has a peg on her nose. My grandaughter found it hilarious

I have a picture of a bear sat on toilet reading a newspaper in my bathroom so I’m probably not the best person to ask when it comes to taste
