Getting rage about this effing weather

Saturday looks good! As do the following days.

I’m so over it. My gorgeous plants are wrecked, I’m absolutely frozen. But 2 weeks ago, our lawn was brown, now it’s beautifully green once more.

Today where I am it feels like 8 degrees and I’m also sick of it. Was hoping to economise on oil over the “summer” with the terrifying price of it, but no sign of being able to switch the heating off yet. Wearing thick woolly jumper and got a blanket over my legs as I WFH.

I will gladly send bucket loads of rain from the South Pennines to you and your plains. Would you like some gobstopper-sized hailstones too?

Oh god! I’d managed to forget about the longest day so far! I, too, find it really quite depressing, every year, but had managed to successfully put it out of my head so far, but now realising how close we are to it is just horrible ☹️ It isn’t even so much the weather, as such, it’s the realisation that the days are going to shorten, even before we’ve had our summer, and that it’s just generally downhill from there.
I know it’s every year, obviously, but for whatever reason it still gets me. Every year.

I love this weather. It suits my miserable outlook on life at the moment! Plus it shuts the noisy neighbours up.

South coast here, just back from another wet walk, feeling really chilled. Could have done with gloves on my walk today, didn’t get warm at all!

It is improving Saturday but it’s miserable for June! The combination of strong winds and driving rain is horrible.

I’ve been wet more frequently on walks in the last few weeks than all through winter, it’s crazy

It has rained all day here on South coast and my feet are feeling the chill. I'm wearing thick winter leggings and a fleece top that I had to dig out of storage to wear and I've even put the electric blanket back in the bed.

Roll on Saturday when it's all change ... hopefully! 😎

I've got the right radge with it all as well. I'm yearning to sit on the beach with my book. To walk at 6am in the warmth instead of a hoodie.

I've got a lovely little garden for the first time in my life but i think I've sat out there 3 or 4 times so far as at work all week 9-5 so precious little weekend time yet other than that heat wave one when I was away anyway.

I'm so sad, it defo affects me mentally. I'm just sitting here in joggers on the first day of a week annual leave feeling blue.

The price of global warming. I don’t like the blasts of weather either (conservatory has leaked flooding a lot of my stuff/papers that I’m wading through) but sadly other’s problems are much greater than everything you and I are describing. I used to live in a place that now suffers terribly from wild fires owing to global warming. Everything was kindle owing to drier weather at the end of summer season and if it hadn’t rained by sept like it reliably used to, fires would catch and ravage areas. Friends with houses burned down, people died. Now this is an annual occurrence for them and it didn’t used to be. Global warming is awful, and that’s why - even if our contribution is minimal - we have to vote with our feet and try and live in a non-globalist consumerist way and try and protect the planet for those in the future to come. I mean I don't have much hope but it doesn't make it less important or less depressing. I agree with you on the frustration of the garden / roof front, but i think this is nothing compared what is to come.

I'm on my 1st week off work since November last year. 🙄.

Had planned on going out to several places, country walks and pub lunches but reality is staying at home, clearing out cupboards and popping to the local tip 🤣 as the weather is shite.

Just want to send solidarity re: the slugs. They having a right party in my garden.

I love this weather, I feel like I have more energy but I completely get why people want a summer.

Woke up, big coat on, went to let chickens and geese out this morning and it's was 8c overcast and raining. Now it's 9c and absolutely pissing it down. Not nice summer thundery showers, it's pissing it down and cold.

It's weird, it feels like March. I've now got my winter fleece and socks on and under a blanket and my fingers and toes are freezing, my middle finger has gone white. It's the 11th of bloody June!!

Peonies and roses absolutely had it and the slugs have had a field day. 😢

Thanks to the fairly mild but extremely wet temperature in N.Mcr at the moment the three bedding verbena that I planted yesterday afternoon in my lunch hour have completely disappeared. There is literally nothing left in the pot apart from two big fat snails and I think they are currently having sex, just to rub my nose in the fact that they've eaten my plants.

There are going to be increasing numbers of threads about unexpected extreme weather going forward, because unexpected is almost where we are for just weather now.

20C+ in April, 30C+ in May, monsoon downpours. The days of predictable temperate climate are gone.

Still this is what as a group we are prepared to pay to buy and do what we want. Even so called gardeners who you might think have an ounce of consideration use peat compost so their flowers look pretty.

Best not to get too attached to anything you plant it’s hit and miss if it will survive.

To be fair rain is expected in Wales.

my water butt was empty recently so on the plus side it is refilling.
i only have a couple of dresses for work and at this rate i dont need more!
