Who do LL's get so much hate on MN?

It seems so much more hate than there is any real life.

But who cares if they are making profit?

What are they embarrassed about then?

But who cares if they are making profit?

Commodification of housing. That's why.

Have a google.

TeaPot496 · 04/06/2026 16:10

Agreed. Whilst they earnestly insist they're "making no profit"

So that mortgage is interest-only is it? 🙄

Every landlord on mn is charging well below the going rate 😂😂😂

I needed to rent a home when working away for three years, and I in turn rented out our family home. How does that cause any misery?

Should I have sold our home, bought a new one, then done the same again afterwards?

Are you making a profit off a necessity?

Then yes.

If not, no.

Do they?

What do you think OP?

TeaPot496 · 04/06/2026 16:10

MrsTerryPratchett · 04/06/2026 16:08

Because the commodification of housing is causing untold misery.

It's one of the worst social ills in my opinion.

Landlords are regularly awful. I've had lots, and only one decent one.

Maybe because if your LL is brilliant you aren't likely to post about it?

That's probably true.
