To be totally APPALLED by how Robinson referred to Henry Nowak in his “speech” in Southampton on Tuesday?

Whereismyjoiedevivre · 04/06/2026 09:22

I’ve just seen a clip of this in a Guardian article on the main agitators in Southampton on Tuesday.
TR refers to Henry Nowak in this way: “White privilege?! Does Henry swear word beginning with F Nowak look as if he had white privilege when he was lying on the floor?”
He then smirks as he looks down, clearly proud of himself for delivering such an eloquent speech [sarcasm].
I’m beyond disgusted by how the name of this beautiful young man, who has lost his life in the most brutal way, was used in such a disrespectful way in order to rouse a rabble and boost TR’s ego.
AIBU to say that over the last two days TR, NF and their ilk are really showing us who they are and what motivates them?

Well that’s complete bullshit.

But I’m sure someone will believe you.

It's a bit of a stretch but I have seen adverts for jobs on uk sites posted in a foreign language.

Yep, a bunch of white (usually males) angry that something that's purely an accident of their birth doesn't grant them the same start in life it once did. Thing is life is crap now BECAUSE of people like Nigel Farage, he isn't the answer people like him are the problem - close the wealth inequality gap and life will get better.

Totally agree!

It is mostly males.

There are some women involved but they stand out and seem remarkable by virtue of being female, so people remember them.

They’re very intimidating as a group too

ImImmortalNowBabyDoll · 04/06/2026 11:57

Henry Nowak's awful death had nothing to do with the left, or the right, or race.

It had to do with a violent thug murdering him, and police officers who simply took the word of the first person who spoke to them on the scene, instead of assessing it themselves.

godlikeAI · 04/06/2026 11:57

Amazing to see the uproar when this happens to a white man. You know this is the exact stuff all the non-white population have had to live with for decades. It’s all wrong, but you know what? It is white privilege to only get angry when things happen to white people. And I say that as a white person.

I don’t believe you.

Fine, that's up to you, read @Giggorata 's post below, swear words can be used for emphasis. You seem to be a bit of a snowflake or deliberately trying to distract.

Good post, it does look like the police have got their act together AFTER they discovered how badly they fucked up, but the general discussion about diversity culture and it"s negative effects on policing isn"t going to go away, in fact I would say that this tragic event will be noted as the moment Labour definitely lost the next election.

I think the sad fact is that we’ve always had a problem with racial profiling in policing, there just was apparently less uproar about it on MN when it wasn’t white people suffering.

I do think it’s really very obvious that that’s what happened in this case. The police believed that a young white male could/would be racist towards a Sikh male, without any evidence of that being the case, and that’s obviously not good enough.

But we have to accept that this isn’t a new problem, and for a long time that profiling has been targeted towards the non-white. It wasn’t good enough then either.

StarkandDorky · 04/06/2026 11:55

God, I'm so tired of people telling other people not to politicise things which are inherently political, whether it's left (as here) or right (eg right wing gun nuts in the US objecting to discussion of gun control in the aftermath of a shooting). The allegation is that anti-racist policies have over-corrected to the extent that the police are no longer to police effectively or safely once an allegation of racism has been made. That is a political matter.

Mark Nowak did not ask for things not to be politicised- in fact he has explicitly requested a full investigation of the police's actions.

Giggorata · 04/06/2026 11:50

In certain circles the word fuck and other swear words are used for emphasis, not in a pejorative sense.
This is quite well known. I have often seen it used this way on MN.
Also, isn't it common for narcissists to commandeer discussions/arguments with their partners by ignoring the points raised, in order to comment on their tone/words/delivery?

TR's point stands.

Just leaving this here. I doubt people will take much notice. But still.

The director of the Independent Office for Police Conduct, Derrick Campbell, said: “We are acutely aware of the public interest in this case. We would respectfully ask people to stop speculating on an ongoing live investigation.

“This investigation is going to fully establish the circumstances of the case including whether there may be misconduct on the part of any of the officers involved.

“The ongoing commentary about the evidence and speculation risks prejudicing any potential processes and preventing Henry Nowak’s family getting the answers they deserve.”

Only because of the time of day.

When people get home from work later I can guarantee that TR will have less support.

Yeah, because people with different opinions from you cant have jobs 🤣

No need for education when I can just drive a tractor through your words and worn out phrases. BLM was and still is used for political gain and fraud. Not all of it but it isn't the holier than though movement you paint it to be. If you want to get personal by lumping me in with commentators such as TR and NR I will say you are to blame for the loss of value that the word racist now has. You are also to blame for the race card that has brought the police to where they are now at. Instead of hard core policing, the hierarchy has pandered to liberals like you. Nothing wrong with the public seeing that, acknowledging it and acting upon it.

Good points.

Hate farage and the other one, whose name I can't remember.

but

You are massively and terribly missing the point @Whereismyjoiedevivre

The boy died because of police receiving extreme Equality & Diversity Training. I am from an ethnic minority, or rather 2 ethnic minorities all mixed up. Detest Farage and co but what happened Henry is a scandal. It's evil. Vickrum Digwa is evil, his family are evil and the identity politics driven, bureaucratic machinery of Hampshire Police is evil.

Reiterating while finding Farage and co extremely worrying, they are drawing attention to this outrageous misuse of police resources. They are exploiting it for sure, but of there wasn't a situation to exploit they wouldn't.

Does anyone know which company delivered that hateful training to Hampshire Police? Name and shame?

The boy died because of police receiving extreme Equality & Diversity Training.

He died because he was stabbed. There was nothing the police could have done at the scene to save him. The perpetrator will serve at least 21 years in prison. His family are also being charged.

Hopefully all the family will also be jailed, they have perverted the course of justice in a murder case and deserve hefty sentences.

Both of these statements can be true at the same time.

And it's irrelevant whether the Police could have saved him - we only know that now after the autopsy - but they didn't know that then, and they didn't even believe him, because a brown man was telling them different.

Bluehouse14 · 04/06/2026 10:59

Firstly, it's not patronising if it's true. Secondly, the majority of BLM protests were peaceful. Some were not, there will ALWAYS be people who take advantage of tragic situations and twist them for their own gains. Like you, Farage and TR. Henry Nowak's father HIMSELF said he did not want his son's death to be used to create hate and division and yet look at how many of you are doing exactly that...He didnt want anyone to 'rise up' as you so aggressively put it. Thirdly, BLM was a movement entirely dedicated to the countless incidents spanning centuries of police brutality against blacks. If you still dont understand, educate yourself.

No need for education when I can just drive a tractor through your words and worn out phrases. BLM was and still is used for political gain and fraud. Not all of it but it isn't the holier than though movement you paint it to be. Jellox · 04/06/2026 11:34

But you can be angry and upset without inciting violence.

It frustrates me when people compare this situation to the George Floyd situation and BLM movement because they’re so different.

This was one case of someone being murdered by perpetrator and the police not giving him dignity or quick enough medical attention.

The other case was someone who was murdered but the police themselves and he was just final straw after years and years of people being murdered by the police because of racial injustice.

If the police had killed him, like they did with the other cases, then I would understand the knee jerk reaction to having these violent protests (even though I still wouldn’t condone it).

But I don’t understand how going out to attack police officers (and scare women and children) is helping.

Some police officers are awful but not all are.
Why are we promoting violence towards them like it’s the only way to change things.

"But I don’t understand how going out to attack police officers (and scare women and children) is helping."

It isn"t helping and that is why Farage called for "cold" rage, cold means calculated, focused, and obviously refers to voting, Reform are the only party with a shot at government who will dismantle the woke ethos that has infected all our public institutions like a disease.

BeasKnee · 04/06/2026 11:38

LevisForMe · 04/06/2026 11:31

Of course it's crass, he's a thug?

But that is not the point here. What needs to be challenged isn't one rogue activist's manners but systemic and bureaucratic failure of how the police treated Henry.

But it's the point of this thread? Even if all threads on every topic must be changed to tackle the main overarching issue at hand, there are lots of people saying that him saying that isn't an issue anyway. And that it's basically the kind of wokeness saying that this is disrespectful that got us in this mess in the first place? Even for people who are TR supporters, why wouldn't they accept that he worded this really really poorly.

Whereismyjoiedevivre · 04/06/2026 09:29

The way it’s used.

I'm absolutely with you on this OP - the way it's used suggests just that - the deceased is being used by TR and his ilk to foment unrest, disorder, and to agitate those with a knee-jerk reaction to the mere mention of other religions, cultures and colours. He doesn't actually give much of a toss about Henry Nowak.

NB*: This doesn't mean that I think the incident was policed appropriately - I don't.

Yes its appalling. Splitting Henry's name like that shows clearly that to SYL he is not a human being deserving of being referred to respectfully, but merely an argument to make.
However he is preaching to his choir of like minded thugs and half wits, who will aggressively defend him regardless.

I worked for the local council before retiring and I saw this practice too. Some people were employed because of ethnicity and not in spite of it.

My Mum worked for the Council. There was a job she was interested in, but when she read the job advert it said "Only black lesbians need apply". I wish I was joking, but I saw this with my own eyes!
