To be totally APPALLED by how Robinson referred to Henry Nowak in his “speech” in Southampton on Tuesday?

Whereismyjoiedevivre · 04/06/2026 09:22

I’ve just seen a clip of this in a Guardian article on the main agitators in Southampton on Tuesday.
TR refers to Henry Nowak in this way: “White privilege?! Does Henry swear word beginning with F Nowak look as if he had white privilege when he was lying on the floor?”
He then smirks as he looks down, clearly proud of himself for delivering such an eloquent speech [sarcasm].
I’m beyond disgusted by how the name of this beautiful young man, who has lost his life in the most brutal way, was used in such a disrespectful way in order to rouse a rabble and boost TR’s ego.
AIBU to say that over the last two days TR, NF and their ilk are really showing us who they are and what motivates them?

Were you on here saying the same thing when that profiling wasn’t targeted towards white people?

I’m going to assume no.

Selective rage because this time it could be your son.

Well it always could have been someone’s. It’s a shame so many can’t fight that fight consistently.

Racial profiling has been addressed and overcompensated for to the degree where, once again, the balance hasn't been struck. That is what the public concern is for. You know, those inarticulate, rambling right wing idiots.

Only because of the time of day.

When people get home from work later I can guarantee that TR will have less support.

So you're not at work then?

Loubissou · 04/06/2026 12:52

Of course it is disrespectful. The swear word is in completely the wrong place for the point he was trying to make (which is do not agree with but...). It shows him up for the fucking moron he is. If you are going to swear for emphasis, get it fucking right:

White privilege?! Does Henry Nowak look as if he had white fucking privilege when he was lying on the floor?”

Or

White privilege?! Does Henry Nowak look as if he had white privilege when he was lying on the fucking floor?”

It completely changes the meaning.

I must admit to being astonished at how deftly TR - and the far right in general - can flip the narrative to suit the circumstances. His followers either don't notice or don't care. For example Poles and other east European and Balkan people were blamed for all of society's ills less than 10 years ago. And Sikhs were often praised as ' the good brown people '. Fast forward.

Then there's the attitude to the police. After the murder of Sarah Everard , Nigel Farage made a statement calling for calm. It would be wrong to start blaming all police officers or all men he said . Likewise he fully supported the police after the Manchester Airport punch up. But now....they are just a goon squad oppressing white people and it's open season on them. Nauseating levels of hypocrisy.
Of course he is quite right that one should not generalise about people on the basis of their sex , religion or nationality. It's just not his strong suit though.

You need to warm down after that huge stretch. Some people want the balance to finally be smack bang in the middle - no favours or castigation to ANY race or religion.

Seems to me that some people really do want the best of both worlds.

They want racial profiling, but only if it helps convince everyone that brown people are more dangerous.

They want forceful policing, but also to be able to throw burning bins at them.

They want freedom of speech, but only if that doesn’t involve calling TR names.

They want everyone to have an opinion, but only if it agrees with theirs.

Seems what they actually want is to be able to do as they please, and that’s not how the world works.

And you are part of the problem. I’m left of centre but need to hear the opinions of those who are further right than me.

I can’t speak for the poster you’re replying to, but many of the names on this thread can be safely skipped over because they repeat the same points on multiple threads. Nothing new is being said by this point and we aren’t going to change each other’s minds.

I would disagree with that poster with respect to inarticulate ramblings, though. Some skilful manipulation of the issues on display here.

That poster has done the left's cause no favours. Straight out of a 6th form bully girl pack.

No fan of Robinson or Farage but at least on this they don’t have a giant brush and carpet like most of our toothless politicians.

We all know things are out of control and yet they’re fannying about rearranging the deck chairs.

Not really managing the deck chairs, more like deliberately locking away the deckchairs so that their agendas can"t be examined in the pure cold light.

NEGUY82 · 04/06/2026 12:29

"Mohammed" (I can't imagine why he hides that bit) Zia Yusif isn't a Reform voter - well be probably does but you know what I mean.

No, Farage & Yusif etc definitely aren't thick, I wish they were - when Farage used the term "cold rage" - it was smart of him, he knew most of his supporters wouldn't know what that means and just hear "rage" and go rioting, when confronted about inciting a riot he can say "I said cold rage, it's not fault they misinterpreted". When people call Farage thick they're being disingenuous, he definitely isn't - those that aren't millionaires that support him though.....

"Mohammed"

That's quite rude.

You are fundamentally misunderstanding how these naming customs work. In many British Muslim families, Muhammad is given on the birth certificate as an honorary prefix out of respect but the child goes by their middle name in daily life. Ziauddin (shortened to Zia) is his actual given name.

Accusing him of hiding his first name when he is just using his everyday name is dog whistling. His full name is also completely public on Wikipedia and Companies House, so nothing is being concealed.

I notice that you haven’t actually answered my question.

No one has said that white people can’t “speak up for” other white people. That’s a complete straw man.

Mark Nowak has called for an “full, fearless and transparent investigation” and for the government to invest in knife crime prevention. He also said that he didn’t want his son’s death “to be used to create further division, hatred or tension”.

Do you think a violent riot in Southampton is what Henry’s family wanted or that it will get them the answers they deserve? Or that it will lead to a review of police DEI policies and ensure that if changes are needed that these will be made and rolled out to all staff? I think the riot was nothing but a hindrance. The police already knew that they messed up and that people are horrified by their treatment of Henry.

You can"t control how the public act in these situations, they are going to do what they are going to do, they don"t need a green light from NF, as if he is their puppet master controlling them, KS knows this, he is just hijacking the family statement to further his agenda of shutting down the conversation (although privately he is probably glad the spotlight has shifted away from his catastrophic leadership) KS is making the situation more dangerous by shutting off debate, he has the power to make things less dangerous by having the necessary conversation about woke training/brainwashing in the police and other areas, of course this would be like a turkey voting for Christmas and will never happen, they just need to be removed from power via the ballot box so the country can breathe again.

RaininSummer · 04/06/2026 12:38

It does sound very disrespectful to Henry putting F word in the middle of his name like that. If they needed to swear then why not say , 'white f. Ing privilege'? Either way they sound quite thick and loutish.

Once again, as has been said many tines, the power is out of the hands of the Nowak family. Do you naively think people are just going to say OK let's see what happens when they know this WILL happen again? What is it the left always say: two things can happen at once. People can be acknowledging of a family's request whilst also knowing action needs to be forced. This is a massive wake up call for parliament.

ChunkyMonkey36 · 04/06/2026 11:56

I think the sad fact is that we’ve always had a problem with racial profiling in policing, there just was apparently less uproar about it on MN when it wasn’t white people suffering.

I do think it’s really very obvious that that’s what happened in this case. The police believed that a young white male could/would be racist towards a Sikh male, without any evidence of that being the case, and that’s obviously not good enough.

But we have to accept that this isn’t a new problem, and for a long time that profiling has been targeted towards the non-white. It wasn’t good enough then either.

The non-white person had previous for carrying weapons?

EstoyRobandoSuCasa · 04/06/2026 12:29

LuckyHazelFox · 04/06/2026 12:07

Why is it when it's a white victim a white person can't speak up for the victim? It's an extremely lazy narrative that he just wants to stoke division. Any white person, especially mothers of white children should be concerned at the direction policing has taken where a BAME person is automaticall believed over a white victim. It is not racist to expect equal treatment - the very thing that (genuine) BLM proponents want. It's regressive to say only white people can be racist/have white privilege and that includes the pitiful desperation to legitimise BLM riots and hone criticism on Southport and Southampton. We all know if the victim had been black, what the chaotic disorder would be. The balance of power has swung from treating all citizens equally to pandering to liberal demands.

I notice that you haven’t actually answered my question.
