To think Nigel Farage should be locked up?

He was inciting violence with his “address to the nation” speech, calling for rage.

Meanwhile, he doesn’t care when women are actually murdered by the police

Surely enough is enough and they need to take action?

Nigel Farage MP (@Nigel_Farage) on X

We must not allow the tragic murder of a young woman turn into attacks on men and attacks on the police.

Two things can be equally disgusting.

Yes, but on this thread, it's only one particular side of the political and ideological divide which is attracting ire and criticism for some reason..

Mugglingstrum · 04/06/2026 09:23

He may have money but for some it is never enough. The money is integral to his lifestyle.

I agree entirely with everything else you point out about him.

NF and Lowe are dangerous authoritarian morons. But their popularity must be acknowledged rather than dismissing their devotees as racist bumpkins. If the root causes of white British anger and support for these parties/men is not honestly acknowledged and addressed, these men will gain power. Just like Trump in the US. And we see how well that is working out.

Well quite, we see where this is heading - which is why I think it's crucial that justice be served here and the police failure properly addressed. But racialising the issue is simply toxic.
The reasons why people turn to racism and fascism are quite simple though: people are struggling and they're easy pickings for manipulators like the populist parties we see sprouting up everywhere. Those guys are experts at asking 'tough' questions but drill down into their solutions and it's crickets. That's why I compare them all to cults. Same psychological levers. However, the minorities who have been historically oppressed are still facing the same challenges as before - but now poor white working class (and even lower middle as white collar jobs dwindle like melting glaciers in the sun) are joining them in the misery. and it's all turning into a bucket of crabs. What boggles the mind is how those vast swathes of society can fall for the false prophets who are financed by the very people who killed their jobs in the first place!

I can't believe some people still don't think two tier policing is happening. Have they been under a rock for the last 20 years or so.

Depends what the issue is to what they actually believe…. If Henry dying in cold blood at the hands of a man of colour watched by police and disbelieved then ACTUALLY HANDCUFFED IN HIS LAST MINUTES is not the proof then what is?

Literacy levels combined with poor attention spans is a massive issue. People read tripe like the Daily Mail, The Sun and The Daily Express or short snippets from malign actors on social media and think that they're informed. The amount of disinformation is terrifying, and those who lack the ability to think critically, fact check information and read long form journalism lap it up.

Yes I am always amazed at people who get all their news from the BBC and Guardian (along of them on here) - there are whole swathes of news that the BBC and other MSM don't report as it doesn't fit their agenda (that would have included Henry Nowak if it hadnt been reported so much by other outlets). It was during COVID lockdown when I realised people don't really do their own research - I researched both COVID and the George Floyd incident extensively as had allot of time on my hands and came to far different conclusions to what I was being told by the BBC which is when I got rid of my TV licence but most of those around me didn't do that and succumbed to irrational hysteria on both of those issues.

Mantanora · 04/06/2026 09:20

@Mugglingstrum What he does care about is money. For that he needs power. For that he needs a base. For that he needs to create faux anger.

He has money. What he really craves is attention and fame even if that fame is infamy. He is an odious opportunist who is exploiting this awful tragedy to further his own agenda. If he does win the next general election, he will have fulfilled his life ambition to be seen as a serious politician. He won't give a damn what state he leaves the country in after his term.

Sgcloset · 04/06/2026 09:20

EasternStandard · 04/06/2026 09:14

So you feel anger at George Floyd but not what happened to Henry?

And you’re fine with politicians recognising that anger for the former but not anyone who does for the latter?

Edited

I feel great sadness and anger at those individual policemen's gullibility and incompetence, but that is not the same as anger at a widespread system of injustice.

Dodorogers · 04/06/2026 09:19

Dontcallmescarface · 04/06/2026 09:15

And then laughed and smirked at the answer. Farage really couldn't give a fat rat's crack about Henry Nowack, Henry's family or anybody else but himself. As far as he is concerned this is all a welcome distraction (for him), away from the £5m bung he took.

yes exactly

BackToLurk · 04/06/2026 09:16

Are we supposed to be impressed that there are members of the police who would rather say “it’s the training what did it” rather than accept that some of their colleagues are inept?

Or Jack Straw. Not ‘impressed’ just not this unable to listen to what people who do the job are saying.

Plus the same people have said the police got it very wrong, and the training is wrong.

HenriettaHenhouse · 04/06/2026 09:18

2dogsandabudgie · 04/06/2026 09:04

We need strong politicians who aren't scared to speak the truth. Who are straight talking.

Not a Prime Minister who is too scared to say what a woman is because he's scared of upsetting someone.

Your point isn't relevant to the topic and neither is it correct.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crldey0z00ro

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer outside 10 Downing Street in London, Britain, on 22 April 2025.

Keir Starmer does not believe trans women are women, No 10 says

The UK Supreme Court has ruled that the legal definition of a woman should be based on biological sex.

Dodorogers · 04/06/2026 09:18

YourGoldSquid · 04/06/2026 07:11

He is doing the exact thing that Starmer did by kneeling after the death of St. Floyd. He said he was angry about it. His words and actions encouraged violence and riots.

So please, spare us the moral superiority.

The fact you are saying St Floyd shows you are a massive racist so I will choose to ignore your ignorance

Two tier policing is just a buzz word that doesn’t mean anything.

YourGoldSquid · 04/06/2026 09:17

StandFirm · 04/06/2026 09:10

You are positing that this had to do with race. You and all the other NF fans are stating it like it's God's own truth. That's disgusting. There was negligence and failures but to racialise this is morally bankrupt.
Just like MAGA is the Confederacy's last breath, Reform is the Mosley crowd brought back from the dead.

I was amazed that people in Batley weren’t jailed for the threats they made to a teacher, who, with his family, had to leave his job, and move away. They are still in hiding.
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/mar/31/batley-school-what-teacher-in-hiding-can-tell-us-about-our-failure-to-tackle-intolerance

Yes this is very much two tier in action.

Yes (six exclamation marks), because I haven’t seen it. The incompetence and gullibility of individual police officers is not the same thing as evidence of 2-tier policing from "police documentation and training material".

The calibre of police I am afraid is woeful. The training poor. My recent experience is that they feel sorry for themselves. For many I think the job is too much for them. They lack judgement. It is a hard job but good judgement is one of the fundamentals.
It began in the 80’s when Mrs T wanted anyone to join so she could send them North for the miners strikes. They took people who did not have the then basic qualifications.
It has led to a demise ever since. Ditto the Civil service.
They do need to set the bar higher. Back to what it was. And the training needs to be so much more competent.

EasternStandard · 04/06/2026 09:14

Sgcloset · 04/06/2026 09:14

The two cases are not comparable.

George Floyd was killed by a policeman acting in plain sight of other police, who took no action to intervene. The policeman's actions were typical of some US police's attitudes to men like Floyd.

Henry Nowak wasn’t. The police were incompetent and gullible but did not cause his death.

So you feel anger at George Floyd but not what happened to Henry?

And you’re fine with politicians recognising that anger for the former but not anyone who does for the latter?

Mugglingstrum · 04/06/2026 09:14

Simple messages and simple solutions suit simple people. Uncle Nige doesn’t give a flying fig about Henry. If he did he would have heeded a grieving father’s words.

What he does care about is money. For that he needs power. For that he needs a base. For that he needs to create faux anger.

In this economic climate angering those that have little is as easy as taking £5 million from a cryptocurrency investor.

The grift is not complex but it is predicated on creating the enemy.

Nigel will be sitting at home (Surrey not Clacton) in his Union Jack Y-fronts getting very excited about the anger. It’s his currency.

For those that support him. Ask yourself.

Is this a selfless man who respects the wishes of a grieving family??

Sgcloset · 04/06/2026 09:14

Did you feel the same when Khan and others talked of fury and anger after George Floyd, and that they understood why people felt that way.

I ask again - where in that document does it say white people should be handcuffed because of their skin colour?

Oh, it doesn’t. But unfortunately a lot of this country has lost the ability to think critically, as well as their literacy.

Literacy levels combined with poor attention spans is a massive issue. Except that the people who embrace the 'Austrian painter' as you so quaintly put it really are fucking racists.

Of course they are! But why? That's the question nobody wants to answer.

(and FWIW, the term "Austrian painter" is a common phrase used in Youtube videos and comments in order to avoid YT filters)

By definition it's impossible to prove a negative. The burden of proof has to be on those making this claim.

Listen to police on their take on the training.
