That made you think - what a knob! And that you are well rid of them!

lighthearted thread -

I’ll go first -

Recently my ex changed his profile picture to this wanky AI generated image of him in the middle with a halo and two angels either side… he actually gave himself a halo 🤣 What a knobhead! Like he was Jesus 😳(He was a massive narcissist. My ex. Not Jesus)

What are the wankiest things your ex has ever done?

I don't trust anyone who doesn't see their own children.

I know in some cases they have been alienated, but generally there's a good reason that not one of your children want to see you, especially when they are in their teens.

Best case scenario the NR parent just hasn't bothered (which is so damaging for children in itself), worst case there has been some sort of neglect/abuse.

I most definitely wouldn't now, and to be fair, I didn't know at first. I didn't ask too many questions at first. Other than her daughter who was a teen, the others were adults at that point so it would seem fairly normal that they weren't living with her. I assumed her daughter was away at boarding school or lived with other relatives or something such as.

Looking back, this was so foolish of me given her lifestyle but I wasn't from that world at all.

One of my exes had her daughter's name tattooed on her. She had four children altogether but hadn't seen any of them since the youngest was 5 and eldest 13. I always found that very odd.

I’ve know one but I think she could be classed as a “friendly psychopath”… broke up three or four marriages that I know of before working her way up to her current multimillionaire boyfriend. However it’s well know in local circles that he’s a swinger so I guess the luxury lifestyle comes at a price.

She probably prefers it that way... outsources the job of sleeping with him.

My ex did exactly the same thing with the tattoo and did a lot of ill advised shouting and telling porkies in court. Could they have been the same person or are there just an awful lot of w&*kers about! 🤣

Turned up to represent himself in court in an ill fitting suit wearing trainers with a briefcase 🤣

Kicked off at the same Court hearing because my solicitor had asked for a closed court for the hearing due to his new partners behaviour towards me and my daughter. Ex then screamed at me “I’m going to make (insert his new partners name here) DD’s new mummy”. That did NOT go down well with the judge.

Got a tattoo with DD’s name on it for her 5th birthday then proudly showed her it at his supervised contact, he didn’t get her any presents. I could write a book 🤣

Honestly throughout my 44 years on this planet I have never, ever known a woman 'gold dig'. And I have moved in all sorts of different circles for various reasons. People who have next to nothing to people in prestigious professional careers alike I have only seen (and experienced!) the opposite, men sponging off women for money as well as other material things.

  1. Went out with a lad for a few weeks (about 30 years ago when I was in my early twenties). We split up and he went around telling everyone that he was terrified I was pregnant because I was a complete nutter. We’d tried to have sex a few times but he couldn’t get it up. I think he was trying to get in there first in case I told anyone.
  2. Boyfriend, his little niece (about 8 yrs old), and I were playing monopoly. The niece went to the toilet and I went to make a cup of tea. I walked back in to find him taking monopoly money out of the bank and adding it to his pile.
  3. Was round at my boyfriend’s house (in my late teens) and he was taking a shower. I suspected he was cheating so I had a snoop around his room and found a ‘love letter’ he’d handwritten to his best mate’s girlfriend declaring undying love for her, saying that she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen and ‘the kind of woman men would draw swords for’. It was all flowery words and really cringe. I stole it and went to his friend’s workplace and gave it to him.
bagpuss90 · 07/06/2026 20:31

He was drunk and he wanted the neighbours to think I’d driven him to a breakdown - so he pranced round the front garden shouting loudly whilst dressed in my frilly pink dressing gown . I was mortified at the time

I dated a guy years ago who professed in front of his friends (when I met them for the first time at a group dinner) that: "You know how women are... they like to shop and blow your money on things like earrings!"

He said this whilst pointing to my earrings... which I'd bought for myself (with my own earned income) long before I'd met him. I was also out-earning him throughout the (albeit short) relationship.

Needless to say, I dumped him the next day.

I guess really believed he was some millionaire and that all women were out for his 'gold'... when there wasn't gold to dig! Regardless, I had my own money - wasn't ever interested in his! 😂

This reminds me of my ex. I wasn't even present while he said this, but he was retelling about a conversation he'd had with a work colleague I was due to meet, where when the colleague had asked if we were married, he said 'ooh don't mention marriage in front of her!'

I was the one who didn't want to get married. He couldn't understand why I was annoyed that he'd made out to this stranger (to me) that I was some pathetic woman just waiting and hoping for a proposal, when he was the one who wanted to get married and I didn't!

'You know men like having a joke' was his excuse.

Yep! I am yet to meet a gold digger. I have met plenty of men who were doing okay, I suppose, and then met a woman with a good job and her own house and car - people always say things like “He did well to meet her!”.

People always talk about “gold diggers” but pretty much never mention fortune hunters.

Not remotely saintly. He's a genuinely lovely kid - well, man now.

So when I found out I'd been dumped on I called the police. Social Services visited me (several times) and asked could he remain in situ until they spoke to the parents. I said yes because it felt right that he was with his half-brothers and, frankly, he was no trouble. To cut a long story short, they'd been dumping him with whoever would have him, there were accusations of neglect (all this came out in Child Protection meetings). They split up whilst all this was going on, she got sectioned, he refused to step up and my short-term foster became a long-term.

I think you are bloody amazing 🤩

No but I have done that one (years later)

It hangs proudly in my friends hallway!

Thank you for the suggestion though

When I broke up with him he tried to make me jealous by showing me a photo of his new girlfriend. It was a photo of Jennifer Lopez 😂.

@ThePlantPotter This is amazing! Please tell us more! I've been laughing for way too long about this! 😂

@Delladuck There is this on eBay, but it’s just a chart, not a kit.

It's not the one but I may get it on payday

I could bring it out every Christmas and pop it on my wall

I've never had a seasonal cross stitch before!

Singlemumsurvivor · 07/06/2026 08:37

Thank you.

it took 3.5 years for the police to finish their investigation (much more complex than just abuse of 1 child) and CPS to decide to charge him. He pleaded not guilty as I knew he would. Trial is set for next year but before that my daughter has to give her evidence separately. She knows nothing of this yet, I’ve been waiting til nearer the time to break it to her. It’s been a shit almost 4 years. Don’t get me started on the lies he told during the divorce 😢

Sexually abused our then 7 year old daughter.

I know so many posts have been comedic on this thread.
However, your post stopped me and n my tracks this morning.
I am so very, very sorry.
I hope you and your daughter are in a better place now.
