That made you think - what a knob! And that you are well rid of them!

lighthearted thread -

I’ll go first -

Recently my ex changed his profile picture to this wanky AI generated image of him in the middle with a halo and two angels either side… he actually gave himself a halo 🤣 What a knobhead! Like he was Jesus 😳(He was a massive narcissist. My ex. Not Jesus)

What are the wankiest things your ex has ever done?

There are some harrowing recollections on this thread

But just for general surrealism I was torn between Shaman dad under tree his teenager has to walk past to go to school
And Narc emotional goldfish

But then gold car in Preston enters the fray!

This has been my favourite thread in ages. I have treated myself to a few pages each day. My ex was so cross when I left him (toxic relationship in my opinion) that he said I'd struggle to find anyone who would stay with me as I would 'lose my looks in six years'. It's been seven years now and I think I still look pretty good (and I did find someone who liked me enough to stay!).

B@stard! I hope you told him he'd already lost his! (looks) .....and as if he thought it was all about that anyway 🙄
Yep - he sounds truly toxic!
I'm glad you're happy now :) :)

Lorrainedrops · 09/06/2026 15:05

Gives his jumpers to his mum to wash as apparently she washes them better 🙄

PetulaGordeno · 09/06/2026 14:34

A bit similar to the Monopoly one.
An ex of mine was always giving reasons as to why his A level results did not show his true intellect and it meant he had to attend a sub-standard Uni and was constantly telling the lectures how to do their job.
His LinkedIn bio was mostly a work of fiction.
His sister worked in IT. Very competent and low-key.
He was obsessed that he should join MENSA.
In the end his sister set something up in his lounge - I can’t remember the details - where the pair of them would sit a MENSA type test so he could prove his point, that he was far more intelligent than her.
You can imagine the next bit.
They both did the test on their own laptops at the same time and the results came back at the same time. She would have been welcomed by MENSA. He would not have been.
He accused her of rigging the test, of fiddling with his laptop and then he actually says to his mum, she looked at mine she was cheating.
He then upended the table and stormed out. Of his own house.
I have never met anyone with delusions of grandeur like it.

somethingnewandexciting · 09/06/2026 09:46

The Monopoly one reminded me of my ex who was losing badly one Christmas and suddenly flipped the entire board in a rage. I should have left him then and there but he convinced me it was more aggressive than he had intended because he had had more drinks than usual (which very soon became the usual amount of drink...)

I love this thread!

Mine: had a baby with his first partner in the UK, then started an online relationship with an Australian, and abandoned his partner and baby to go and live in Aus with the online woman (he lied about this when I met him).

During Covid, the Australian dumped him, so he moved back to the UK, which is where I met him. After two years, he told me and his now-teenage daughter that he was moving to live in the same town as his daughter.

What he actually did was move to Thailand to live with another woman he’d met online. When his parents found out where he was, his mother emailed me to tell me the truth about the Australian. Her words: “he’s got real issues and you’re better off without him.” His mother was lovely :(

I feel so awful for his daughter. Her view of men is going to be so screwed up.

—-

Friend 1: she left him as he was an abusive alcoholic. She moved out of the family home and into a flat with their son. After three months, he told her he was moving in with someone else and wouldn’t be paying the mortgage on their house anymore. She went round the following day and he’d put all the furniture in the garden. It had obviously been there for weeks and was all ruined.

—

Friend 2: they’d been married for years with two kids under ten. He left her out of the blue, taking one small bag of clothes with him, and she was shell-shocked and very depressed.

Two weeks later, he called her and said he’d made a mistake and that he was coming home. She was thrilled and SO relieved.

The day after he came home, they sat down to sort out finances. She left him logged into all the bank accounts and went out with the kids for a couple of hours. When she came back, he’d emptied their accounts and the kids’ savings accounts, cleared out his wardrobe and taken all the cash and portable electronics.

He hid all his money during the divorce and she obviously couldn’t afford a good finance person to find it. Twenty years later she’s still dealing with the financial repercussions: she’s 63 and working two jobs, he’s living mortgage free in a five bed house.

This is awful.

I believe in hell. I sincerely hope he gets an extra hot seat for this.

Agree. Complete wierdo. Makes sense that some abusive wierdos would come to a well-known site like Mumsnet to be horrible to women, though.

Probably got a matchstick dick. 🤣

😂 yep...for sure!

There is no such thing as too many craft supplies, @Delladuck - and if your dh carries on saying that, I will fix him with my best Stern Look (TM).

I have long believed that buying craft supplies, and actually doing the crafts are two, entirely separate hobbies! 😂😂😂

Exactly!
I have two hobbies-looking/buying and the other is doing them!
Im soooo using this line next time he moans about my basket of kits
and that he has enough model aeroplanes for 3 lifetimes and never bloody starts them,he just buys them

Thank you-I feel vindicated!

This is something else!! How are these types of people not embarrassed?!

You're assuming they have even the slightest concept of other people having perceptions and existences of their own!

He looked like such a sad twat driving along with his sunglasses on and his window down on a grey rainy day in Preston 😂

Neveragainplease · 08/06/2026 19:11

The mat chewing accusations reminded me of how now ex accused me of warping the table his parents gave us, a bit of water has spilled when putting a vase of flowers on the table. It wasn't even on the warped bit and it had been warped when we got it. But no it was me and how could I do that to his parents' precious table. When his brother visited he noticed the table, and started talking about how when they were little they used to fight bit to sit at that end of the table because it was so warped. Never got an apology for being blamed for something that happened (presumably) before he was even born, or at least when he was very young, which would have been before I was born.
He was a few years older than me. When he turned 50 he wanted a big party, hall hired, everyone he knew invited, food, drink, music, I decorated a big cake, the works. Which I organised for him plus a celebration on the day itself. Come me turning 50, wasn't honestly bothered about a party, but it would have been nice if he had organised a nice meal, a weekend away or something. My birthday was actually on a Saturday but he had a hobby thing organised and we went to stay with his friend who did the hobby too and his family. His wife felt sorry for me and took me and the children out for the day and then a meal in the evening. Because I'd had a meal out for my birthday apparently I didn't need another one, or a cake. I was happy to have something a different day, to have gone away the next weekend, or something. But no, is had my birthday celebrations, didn't need another one, or even a cake. He probably had bookings with his band, can't remember, things with his band always got priority, when the children were younger even if I had had something in the diary for ages, if a band thing came up, it was up to me to organise a sitter or not go if I couldn't. The number of times we didn't get away on holiday as planned because a band thing came up, or had to get back early again because some sort of band thing...everyone else in the band was available, couldn't they do it without it, but no he was too important because he was self appointed leader and I guess he couldn't trust the rest of the guys not to do things that he disapproved of....anything that seemed to him to knock him.out of being the important one, he eventually joined a couple more bands and he found it so difficult if anyone challenged him. I would be kept awake hearing him.moan about how unfair it had been .

About 27 years ago,he walked out leaving me with 2 small kids,a shit load of debt and no money

He would come round to my house (to check i wasnt shagging anyone else or heaven forbid, have some sort of peace from him) and would sit there smirking at me (I was so scared of him as he was violent and controlling)

Anyway,id scraped enough cash together to buy myself a cross stitch just for something to do on an evening when the kids had gone to bed

I spent the best part of 9 months stitching it-it was a victorian girl putting letter in a postbox and very detailed

I put blood, sweat, tears and my soul into making it and when the kids where about,it lived in a drawer away from small hands

I was about 20/25 stitches away from finishing it when he swaggered in,that smirk on his face and the attitude of 'im here to see my kids and you cant stop me'

He went into the kitchen to make himself a black coffee and a poke about in my cupboards/drawers

He found my cross stitch, made his coffee and poured the whole lot in the drawer deliberately

It was ruined (i tried to save it,but it was too stained) and his smirk didnt match the 'I just dropped my coffee by mistake, soz'

Daft thing now,he knows im not scared of him at all and runs away when he sees me but I never did replace that cross stitch as it was one from an end of line sale, which is how I been able to afford it-I've trawled Ebay but have never found it again in kit form

He never came into my home again-he knew he'd gone too far and that was my death by the last cut

Didn't stop him dragging me through the courts to control me until he lost interest

He knows that if I get within arms length of him,ill have him by his tiny bollocks and i'll launch him into space

Is it this one?

Mine used to go clubbing in jeans and a jumper. Fair enough - but he wouldn’t wear a t shirt underneath so was always boiling.

NeuroSpiceyMummy · 08/06/2026 11:03

My ex blasted ‘fake love’ by Drake when I went to pick up the last of my things from the house. Turns out rather than “sitting at home for last 6 weeks missing me and the dog” he was shagging his ‘best mate’ who was “like a sister” to him and actually got her pregnant whilst we were still together. Dodged a MASSIVE bullet there. Oh he also had an affair and wanted to run away with my current partners, cousin (she was a ‘friend’ of mine) early on in mine and my exes relationship, i found this out after we split - because she told my current partner and told him not to tell me 😂✌🏼- but she re-introduced me and my current partner before all this and we are now very happy with 2 kids! Silver lining and all that!

CruCru · 08/06/2026 08:25

If we were out somewhere and he’d had enough, he would get into an argument with a bouncer / bar staff and get us chucked out. Obviously only when it was something I was enjoying, not something with his friends.

Ok had a long think as last ex was a wanker and finally remembered an incident I had really tried to forget.

He larp's (live action role-play or D&D for those unsure). He wrote a long backstory for a character that included the viking Sun Wheel, which he drew on his cheek and went around a northern city pub crawl with this painted large with black ink.

Again for those unaware of the viking Sun Wheel, most people would recognise it as a swastika.

How he wasnt hospitalised I will never know, but he deserved it for that.

😱

The ultimate wankerish line a separated man with children can trot out is 'She won't let me see them.'

Your response to this should always be, 'what have you done to address that?'

And watch them flounder like a goldfish because 99% of the time it's a complete fabrication and they've let contact slide because they can't be bothered.

Exactly! Even if ex partner is a nightmare, that's what court is for. If you've not even tried then you didn't care in the first place.

LadyWhistledownsSocietyPapers · 07/06/2026 21:28

I don't trust anyone who doesn't see their own children.

I know in some cases they have been alienated, but generally there's a good reason that not one of your children want to see you, especially when they are in their teens.

Best case scenario the NR parent just hasn't bothered (which is so damaging for children in itself), worst case there has been some sort of neglect/abuse.

I seem to remember a lot of mid to dark greys and a very red letterbox but that was made up of about 5 reds (just to liven things up)
I think there was a 'v' on the letterbox but a swirly 'v'
Im sure her dress had pinks in it
Thank you so much
