To wonder why so many male migrants have committed sexual assaults:even if they are evil people, wouldn't staying in the UK be an incentive to abide by the law?

I KNOW that plenty of the men who come are not evil and don't want to commit sexual assault. But clearly a number who have come are, and there's strong evidence that male migrants are disproportionately lileky to do so.

This almost surely at least partly caused by misogynistic culture in various areas meaning back home they perceived uncovered women as permissible to assault. But surely they know it's different here? That they will likely be caught? They are at least more likely to be punished here for assault.

Or are they convinced our police system will let them off?

Or they're not aware our norms are different?

Or just don't care about the consequences?

I wonder also if criminals are in a sense selected for since they may have little to tie them to their home countries, or even be escaping punishment there.

You may but I won’t respond I’m afraid.

But anyone here pretending it’s not a huge cultural disconnect and a couple of months of being ‘integrated’ with suggestions of ‘and dont rape western women please’ might have an effect, is living in another universe.

The naivety of some posters who have no experience of other cultures is terrifying.

Can I ask what you think of the UK now, compared to when you first moved here?

Again, you are reading things in that I never said. Where in my post there did I say the capita figures are correct?

You quoted a guy who said he thinks its likely asylum seekers commit more crimes but that a possible reason is due to the age of asylum seekers but that we can't know because we don't have the data.

We don't have the data is the very clear takeaway from all this. But you seem determined to take away that the figures show asylum seekers commit sex offences at the same rate as British citizens in the same age range. You are inventing that because it suits your pre-existing politics. The simple fact is we don't know as we don't have the data. As Ben said.

We really need to start capturing the data. There are reasonable grounds to hypothesise that migrants from some cultures are more likely to commit sex offences. We need to collect the data to establish if that is true or not.

Nope. I never said the rates are the same. I said we don’t know and cannot know.

That challenges the OP’s assumption that “so many migrants have committed sexual assaults”.

In UK law women are equal,

so you can shove your tradition up your arse.

and I’ve lived in that culture. I’m not going back.

May I ask what country?

@Weeallthewayhome it's all very well saying stay here if you respect our laws/ ethics and customs but who is going to tell them what they are and make sure that they understand what they are especially around women esp as it's often interwoven with their religion and is all that's been taught ??

And my position is they are not because they don’t compare the same demographic cohorts.

Which is exactly what the guy said.

They are copying our culture. We have a culture of controlling and abusing women and girls.

Our culture is one of misogyny so you could say they listened when the white man said "When in Rome...."

Absolutely what are your plans for removing visas for all men?

Now come on! You are minimising the appalling abuse of women in Afghanistan by saying they are 'copying our culture' What a stupid thing to say. I am a woman in the UK. I have a job, an education, am allowed to speak in public, I was playing with dolls at 9, rather than being forced into marriage to a 40 year old.

Nope but we do not play oppression olympics and minimise what women and girls in the west experience. When 90% of girls in our schools are sexually abused by boys then we have a major issue here. To say it is not a problem as 99% girls in Sudan experience so it is worse....really just says it is not a problem that our girls are sexually abused day in day out in school.

All have the same root cause....misogyny!

Where does this "90%" stat come from? When you say sexually abused do you mean actual assault or a one off comment (which is still totally wrong)

And yes foreign men are well over represented per capita wise. There's no way on earth Somalia is as safe for a woman than the west. We all know we'd rather be in the west.

I think Rupert Lowe has the right idea.

Stay here if you respect our culture, traditions, preference not to be raped or rig our voting system.

Otherwise we have no obligation to feel afraid on our own streets.

And I’m not the only who thinks like this by an astonishing degree. Ten years ago I would have concerns about feeling this way.

Now I don’t care. I’ve had enough of imported violence and rape and murder.

They are copying our culture. We have a culture of controlling and abusing women and girls.

You call 40 month prison sentence for "cold blooded m*rder" of a baby DEALING WITH ????

Tragic as that case is, it was not cold blooded murder. Murder is premeditated.

I do think that both Cookson and the owner should have been given longer sentences, but I think she was convicted of gross negligence so sentencing guidelines are followed.

MandingoAteMyBaby · 03/06/2026 15:15

BashthatTerriesorange · 03/06/2026 14:32

This is fascinating. You are reading something that is not there. Ben does not agree with you. He is stating the data is not there. And speculating on what he thinks is likely to be there and why.
Its noteworthy that the speculatively explanation he offers is one that fits with his political opinions, so yes there is arguably some emotion in his reply. Another possible explanation for higher rates of rapes by asylum seekers is because of the culture they come from. And there will be other possible explanations, and possibly a combination of explanations ( youth plus culture, for example).

The fact is, we don't know because as Ben says, the data is not there.

But you seem very confident that the per-capita figures are correct.

By head of population, migrant men commit far, far more sexual crimes than indigenous men.

The us offered an Afghan asylum for helping them and then he shot 2 guardsmen.

The US took more than the U.K. - so this is absolutely dreadful but a small percentage - don’t forget the absolute trauma everyone took away from Afghanistan either - some of this was knowable and support/integration could have helped.

It is possibly actually less shocking from ‘their culture’ than the guys who continue to do this from ‘our culture’ - if you are following the line of argument on here.

No need to import extras in ffs
