They can literally afford to fix this issue.

Enough is enough.

Prayers for Sudan πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡© and to all those suffering across the world.

So just Amazon then, but you are going to keep your smartphone

Then I'd delete your account if I were you, given that MN relies on Amazon Web Services.

Ok so when are you boycotting the internet? Since nearly everything runs on AWS?

Or was this your good deed of the day to post a virtue signalling post on the internet?

darksideofthetoon · 02/06/2026 19:17

I understand the sentiment but this is not really a money issue but more a power / political and corruption issue.

People have been throwing money at African nations for decades (see Bob Geldof and Lenny Hendry) and it’s not really solved anything.

It's not the cost of food that's the problem, is it? It's civil war, mass displacement, disruption in the Red Sea, the government restricting humanitarian access, regimes rising and falling. It's not like Bezos can Amazon some food over there.

I think he could bloody try. I wanna see him try. 😑

We should round them up from their mansions and stick em on a plane to go and sort it!

On a plane to where? To do what, exactly?

Do you really think throwing money at the problem will solve?

Do you think Bill Gates, or someone, can just make a call to Wal-Mart and say 'deliver ten truckloads of aid to starving kids in Sudan and charge it to my Amex account' and that'll be job done?

Trouble is, the only way we could swiftly communicate this community action on a global scale is via the internet, using our devices.
