AIBU to think a younger partner could genuinely find Justin Fletcher attractive?

Justin Fletcher (AKA Mr Tumble) has been in the news recently as the media have discovered he is with his co-star who is 21 years younger than him. I say good for them both and I hope they are happy.

There are so many comments however about her only being with him because of his money. I realise for certain people this would be an attractive prospect but I don’t understand why it’s so hard to believe a younger woman would find him attractive? I’m a similar age to her and if I was single I would date him, regardless of his money. I think he seems like a genuinely lovely, talented, hard-working man who is great with children and has done a lot for kids with special needs. That would be attractive to a lot of people. If I was with him I’d be happy to live in a small house and for him to leave his money to a children’s charity if he so wished.

So AIBU and naive to think there are others out there with a similar mindset to myself? I recognise there are gold-diggers out there but in this case I think Justin has a lot going for him even without his bank balance?

I find him creepy

Saying it as a 21 year age gap without adding he’s mid 50s and she’s mid 30s and also works in children’s tv, makes it sound like it’s an inappropriate relationship or she’s a gold digger etc. sounds more like two people who’ve worked alongside each other for a long time have started dating. Both are beyond the young age where it’s possible they are being taken advantage of.

Justin Fletcher was always such a calm and nice seeming person, I’m glad he’s found someone, I do hope they are happy.

Yeah I agree, I like him and admire his work with children. Also in panto he is hilarious so what's not to like!

She’s seemingly 34 and has long worked in the same industry as him, it’s not as if he’s dating some random broke 21 year old. If they’re happy, good for them

Its hard to say, I have heard of him but never seen his show. Maybe he is really nice, perhaps she usually goes for older men and that is just her type or they have some kind of unique chemistry and often that his what it comes down to even with bog standard no big age gap relationships.

I do think age gap relationships are harder and less likely to work out long term but his partner isn't a wee girl she's an adult and seems to be doing well in her own career and so best to leave them to it.

i also assumed he was gay

I think a 21 year gap is too much though.

UhOhRatPoo · 01/06/2026 13:50

I actually thought he was gay!

Back to your question, nobody should ever pass judgment on why two people might have fallen in love. There is far too much judgmental shit out there and social media just gives idiots an outlet for unsolicited opinions.

All the best to them both.

Agree totally, he has been such a soothing and comforting presence in my life these last years with my child who has additional needs, I truly adore him!

A) There’s someone for everyone

B) He seems like a nice man, so I’m not sure why the idea he could find love for reasons beyond his money is so shocking?

If anyone has money, their partner will be accused of being with them for their money, it’s a classic!
