Earliest time to cut the grass tomorrow??

I’m on a new build estate, so lots of people living around me. I need to cut the grass tomorrow but want to do it as early as possible to avoid the heat - health conditions make it too difficult once it warms up. Obviously I don’t want to be a dick though 🤦‍♀️

What’s the consensus? 9am???

We started at 8 this morning, will be half past tomorrow. Massive garden and we both work all week so it’s got to be done

Exactly.

Wingedharpy · 30/05/2026 18:20

Any time you like pet. I sleep like the dead😉

I usually do mine after work.

It doesn’t have to be done on a weekend morning, especially when it’s been dry most days.

Gardeningsideeffects · 30/05/2026 18:13

9am here. I did mine at 9.30 this morning.

I wish the weather would turn here, it's still in the mid 20s tomorrow. Was 30 today.

Wishing for rain so next door can't light the fire pit AGAIN.

smilesy · 30/05/2026 18:13

I would say 09. 30 -10.00 is reasonable. Although one of our neighbours mowed his lawn at 08.30….on Christmas Day! 😬

Calaleia · 30/05/2026 18:12

10 am

catgirl1976 · 30/05/2026 18:11

10am. Any earlier is just rude and selfish

PonyPatter44 · 30/05/2026 18:09

9am is reasonable, but check the weather forecast for your area, because its definitely changing tomorrow.

I don't cut my grass or use other noisy equipment on a Sunday.

Agreed. It might not be a byelaw but it's nice to have one quiet day a week.

MandemChickenShop · 30/05/2026 18:08

How long does it take? 30mins? 8am should be fine.

MesonBoson · 30/05/2026 18:07

09:00

BillieWiper · 30/05/2026 18:04

I'd not do it till about 11 but 10 I'd say is reasonable.

9 to me is too early to be noisy and potentially wake people up or disturb their morning routine. On a weekend.

SparklyGlitterballs · 30/05/2026 18:04

I'm SE London and they're saying 23 at peak tomorrow. I think that's the hottest they're forecasting across England. 10am it'll only be about 19 degrees. I'm cutting my DMs grass but wouldn't consider before 10am.

Loubissou · 30/05/2026 18:03

Not before 10am.
Or leave it until you are back. It won't mind waiting a few days.

Thefrenchconnection1 · 30/05/2026 18:01

Who lives either side? If young families 8am is fine. If older kids or just adults, 10am unless you know they are up earlier

9 is courteous
10 is kind
8 is merciless
7 is the devil

🤣
I would say 9

doitwithlove · 30/05/2026 17:59

I would do it at 8am, I despise my neighbours #entitledtwats

EmeraldRoulette · 30/05/2026 17:59

10

but where is going to be hot tomorrow?

I'm in Essex and even we are forecast to have it cool down tomorrow - I'm desperate for my flight to cool down so I'm very pleased but also confused because it doesn't look as if the temperature is coming down much tonight.

GreenCandleWax · 30/05/2026 17:59

Indianajet · 30/05/2026 17:57

9 a.m.

HurdyGurdy19 · 30/05/2026 17:57

Not until Monday, when No Mow May is over 😅

But I'd say 9am is early enough on a Sunday.

Jellox · 30/05/2026 17:56

Lonelycrab · 30/05/2026 17:53

Not sure. Champions league final is on, lots of people out enjoying their gardens as it’s a nice evening, at least where I am. Plus it’s actually likely hotter than it’ll be before midday tmro.

Why would people being in their gardens be an issue?

I assume most people will be in their gardens tomorrow too.

8am

Too early on a Sunday.

Jellox · 30/05/2026 17:55

Why not do it now or in a bit? I’m just about to do mine.

Then I’m going to have a shower and get in my PJs and relax.

You’ll have extra free time tomorrow then too.
