AIBU to worry about children without hats or shade in hot weather

Is anyone else concerned about the number of children and babies out and about with no head coverings or shade in this incredibly hot weather?
would you say anything?

Would love my toddler to keep a hat on! She has one but it's probably in my bag after being thrown on the ground for the millionth time.

She is greased up with factor 50 though.

Ahh, judgement disguised as faux concern.

The reality is, you’re not going to like the answers you get which will range from they know but have forgotten it, there’s three in the bag but they won’t wear them, they’ve been lost at nursery despite being named and they are on their way to get one now to fuck off it’s none of your business. What will probably happen is you will feel defensive and push the topic with a “you are their parent and so you make them keep their hat on” and you’ll probably be told to fuck off.

I wouldn't say anything, you don't know how long they have been out, if they are wearing suncream etc. Both my kids despise wearing hats, they are covered head to toe in factor 50, we avoid the middle of the day and we seek shade regularly but I've largely given up on trying to force their hats back on.

The only time I've ever said anything is to people with blankets over prams.

We used stockings for dd2. Dont ask - but she kept them on like a rabbit with long ears... sunhats? Nope.
Nursery wasn't too impressed.

Op you may see no hat, but there's probably a parent with that child that has tried a million times and given up.

I don’t say anything but it does make me crazy seeing how unaware some people are of sun damage and seeing whole bright red families

I absolutely would not say anything.

You don’t know how long they have been out, if they had suncream before and everyone reacts different to hot weather.

One of my children loves it and the other needs to be in shade all day, if out at all.

Equally I actually haven’t seen many babies or children out without hats when it was hot.
