Effing noisy neighbours

I don't actually care if I am being unreasonable. Long story short, neighbours moved in at the backend of 2023. Then spent 4 months to extend the back of their house to include one of the current ubiquitous grey internal kitchen/ living spaces (yawn). Problem is that the space they created is so cavernous that we can hear everything when the concertina doors are fully open. I've been party to some interesting convos, I can tell you.

DH has now installed a 'sound system' outside on our patio. Mostly to drown out the inane chatter and kids' screaming etc. Good for us as we get to play a lot of great stuff going back (e.g today I played Mogwai, Daft Punk, Blondie and so on). But in the back of my mind I can't get the Terrifier movies out of my head 😹 I am sure there are quite a few of us around with a dark humour streak.

So you’re annoyed by…the normal sounds of a family. You can swap and have my neighbour who screams constantly while playing online games for about 12 hours a day.

GallusQuine · 25/05/2026 18:14

Read the first part. I'm beginning to think you are a troll/bot.

Hilarious. Once someone complains about their irritating neighbours they are deemed to be 'on the sauce' . Whatever that means. A term that is totally demeaning to women as a whole.

So you don't even know what it means but you've decided it's a 'term that is totally demeaning to women as a whole'?

I'd definitely mix a little water with it if I were you 😉

Elaine118 · 25/05/2026 17:31

Maybe the heat is getting to you a little. They were just explaining a perfectly normal saying you hadn't understood and assumed was sexist. It isnt.

But then gaslighting doesn't mean what you think it does either.

GallusQuine · 25/05/2026 17:17

Pure gaslighting. Now be gone.

Eh? I'm asking if you're pissed. You sound pissed.

Have you been on the sauce OP?

You sound like a nightmare neighbour.

Also not sure what their colour choices has to do with you.

Yep.

GallusQuine · 25/05/2026 17:05

😹😹😹😹 why? Do I really want to hear endless discussions about how long it took to deliver both her kids. Too much info!

ScrimMN · 25/05/2026 17:05

I love the terrifier movies. Dressed as a full Art the clown on Halloween

tiramisugelato · 25/05/2026 17:04

You sound like a dick. Your neighbours sound normal.

PonyPatter44 · 25/05/2026 17:04

To be fair, I am nosey as fuck and enjoy earwigging on my neighbours, especially if they have a row. I probably wouldn't be drowning them out with Blondie.

PonyPatter44 · 25/05/2026 17:03

GallusQuine · 25/05/2026 16:43

Don't actually care if it is irritating the f@ck out of them. They can come round and complain, fine. They'll get a flea in their ear.

What about the neighbours on the other side?

GallusQuine · 25/05/2026 17:01

Lol gray which is going out. Look through the previous responses I have provided. Or are you a bot?

OP posts:
GallusQuine · 25/05/2026 16:58

They apparently hear nothing, so I have no concerns over their pain.

OP posts:
GallusQuine · 25/05/2026 16:56

You have no idea how echoey this space is that they created.

OP posts:
sweatyback · 25/05/2026 16:54

I feel sorry for your neighbours 🤷🏻‍♀️

GallusQuine · 25/05/2026 16:54

I don't really care. They don't play music much, but they sure talk a lot about nothing.

OP posts:
GallusQuine · 25/05/2026 16:51

sweatyback · 25/05/2026 16:48

And you have no other neighbours?

They mostly say they can't hear the noisy bunch, although I don't believe them. Equally, they can't hear our music if that is true. We back onto the effing noisy neighbours.

OP posts:
Tryagain26 · 25/05/2026 16:48

The sound system would irritate me a lot more than listening to people go about their lives.
People who play loud music outside are the most anti social

You sound intolerant, petty, and immature.

Happy Bank Holiday.

apricotdreams · 25/05/2026 16:46

But your sound system won’t just be annoying to your annoying neighbours
