Neighbours washing - diagram included!

I live in a ground floor maisonette and my garden backs on to my kitchen and I have windows from my bedroom (and bathroom) facing the garden. The weather has obviously been lush all day and I myself have done every single last piece of washing (feeling smug).

Just peered out my window to look at my flowers and seen my upstairs neighbours have hung their washing over our joining fence.

Not the crime of the century but it’s only just been hung up now at 8pm. It’s all overlapping and pieces of clothing are on the dirty, bird pooed fence.

I would love to show you a photo but it would be super putting outting.

To the ones who’ll go for the throat. It’s ok. This post is in jest but equally I can see my neighbours pants hanging off our joining fence - ew. Haha.

Always hearing you daft apeth when I was young.

Same, only we spelled it '"a'porth" since it's a shortening of "ha'penny worth". I think.

Maybe they have some poo stained baby clothes and have put them on the fence to bleach out the stains and then going to re-wash them 🤷🏻‍♀️

Belated snap!

marathebest · 22/05/2026 23:39

Maybe they had baby poo explosions and have hung everything on the fence, poured over vinegar and then sprinkled with bicarb, hoping that the morning sun will clean them then rewash and dry normally. Or they are weird.

That could be why the neighbour's pants are hung up too. Poo stains

What a shame.

You sound a real hoot!

As do you.

I'd rather be homeless than live in your village,

What a shame.

One word - foxes.

No facebook page and I wouldn't know about neighbouring house prices cus we've all been here for years.

If you think it's anywhere normal hanging washing over a 1 foot high fence around your front door then, well, you should move here cus a certain someone would be right up your street!

Nofeckingway · 22/05/2026 23:25

So can you see the washing from your garden too. I would hate to spend tomorrow with my neighbors pants on our mutual fence . Yuck.

Sorry OP, not something I could get worked up.about.

I don’t think the OP is worked up about it….

House prices must have plummeted in your lovely little village because someone hung their knickers out. I bet the FB spotted page is full of disgusted posters.

bakingsodar · 22/05/2026 23:07

they will have dust, insects, even splinters ....yuck...I wonder why they did not simply throw all their clothes into your garden since their behaviour is utterly crazy

BeautySimplified · 22/05/2026 23:03

Timetogetgone · 22/05/2026 20:41

Haha! Spider eggs in pants!

Oh not eggs, haven’t you heard they drag their willies over washing at night and it gets darked on apparently. I won’t go into the cooties with leaving washing out overnight.

StHilarion · 22/05/2026 23:00

Always hearing you daft apeth when I was young.

Piknik · 22/05/2026 22:59

Oooh so we can now add to spider-wiillies and the clothes getting 'darked on', as they are on the fence they will also be 'birded' and smell 'fency'.

A laundry disaster.

StarCourt · 22/05/2026 22:55

Ohcrap082024 · 22/05/2026 21:04

Oh my goodness, their washing is about to get darked on. “Filthy apeths”as my Nan would have said.

I haven’t heard apeth in years! Takes me right back to my childhood

NotTheOrdinary · 22/05/2026 22:04

The spider willy stuff is not funny. It never was.

Oh yes it is 😁

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 22/05/2026 22:22

Won’t the wet wood (fence) put weird marks on the clothes? Plus the fence is dirty, even without the bird poop.

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 22/05/2026 22:11

If they’re going to be doing that regularly , I’d invest in some spray on bird poo

LindorDoubleChoc · 22/05/2026 22:11

Yuck at the bird poo! Is it a wooden fence? The washing will get stained by that too!

I hung my washing out this evening. But all on a Minky clothes horse on my own patio, nowhere near the neighbours.

Gettingbysomehow · 22/05/2026 22:06

Haha love the diagram 😂

JustSawJohnny · 22/05/2026 21:48

Yeah, that's proper chavvy.

There's a woman in our village with a lovely little cottage that she cheapens hugely by hanging her undies on the little fence round by her front door.

People are random.

Oh yes, there will be spider willy wiping all over that washing 😀
