Please raise a complaint about the unduly lenient sentencing of the three teenage boys who have avoided prison after raping two teenage girls.

Ask for a Crown Court sentence to be reviewed

How to complain to the Attorney General's Office if you think someone's sentence is too low - and what happens if the Court of Appeal get involved

A government spokesperson said the attorney general's office had received "multiple" requests for the sentences to be reviewed under the Unduly Lenient Sentence (ULS) scheme.

On one hand the earlier poster is correct - those forms are for signalling that there may be a legal error here - they are not supposed to be a petition or a vote.

On the other hand - the government is elected, struggling and wishes to be more popular. And we have sent them a clear message that this is something that “multiple” people disagree with.

Just read into it and complaining about the judge won't work. I'm not inclined to despair but this has really got to me

MrsFaustus · 22/05/2026 17:41

It’s good news that women have been heard (thousands I imagine) but I hope the judge is stood down and that the sentences are made harsher. I’ve just read the story about the seven young Afghan men charged with rape today. Women are simply not safe it would seem, and I don’t think I’m of a particularly nervous disposition. I don’t think I’m particularly racist either, but we seem to have allowed a lot of men from countries who have little respect for women to live here unsupervised.

BBC news is reporting the Government is reviewing the sentences.

Just coming on to say the same.

An underpass beneath a bridge next to a river. The wall is covered in graffiti and there is a metal railing along the path.

Exactly, why should we avoid criminalising criminals.

They are criminals. I's it because they are young? Those boys have a other 60 or 70 years, hie many more girls or women might they rape.

Please complain - it takes less than 5 mins

This isn't true - only one UL submission is required for the case to be reviewed.

This doesn't have the same mechanics as a petition. It doesn't depend on the volume of submissions made. One form has the same effect as one thousand.

If one form has the same affect at one thousand then why try to stop people from doing it?

sashh · 22/05/2026 08:04

EmeraldShamrock000 · 22/05/2026 07:55

Every voice counts. It’s a vile, cruel, vicious system, the evidence spoke volumes,
The law has to stop allowing fairytales be used as part of mitigating circumstances for reducing sentencing for vicious criminals.

A civil servant has already pointed out to you the volume will also be flagged to the AG, each form results in a new reference number, a number which will have to be updated, only one can trigger a response, several hundred triggers the sense of anger.

I’m unsure of your intention to repeatedly attempt to deter people, that is not your job to Police peoples views.

You speak for yourself, not the many.

FrothyCothy · 22/05/2026 07:51

Maybe the PP could consider that filling in the form is less a type of complaint and more an act of protest.

TheRealShatParp · 22/05/2026 07:48

I have signed. Absolutely outrageous sentence.

sashh · 22/05/2026 07:42

If anyone else is filling the form in the date of sentencing was 21/5/26

It's even worse than has been reported, from the CPS website:Boy B, from Dorset, who was 14 at the time of the offences but is 15 now, was convicted of six counts of rape. He pleaded guilty to four counts of taking indecent images of a child. He has been sentenced to a three-year youth rehabilitation order.

Women and girls just don't matter do they?

I’ve filled it in. I don’t care about whether I needed to or not. Somewhere my name is down on paper saying I think this sentence is too lenient.

Utterly fucking appalling.

“Avoid criminalising these children unnecessarily”

Well, they’re fucking nasty little criminals who knew exactly what they were doing. Twice.

Premeditated. A weapon used. Evidence they’d cut the clothing off. Filmed and shared.

Surely these all should have been aggravating factors. That judge needs striking off.

Also every time a video of rape and/or child abuse is shared, that abuse is likely to become infinite for the victim, shared repeatedly on user generated porn sites and impossible to get taken down and removed from all of them. These girls will have a lifetime of trauma and this added burden of not knowing where that video is now and who has seen it and if it’s still online. Victims find their videos on user generated porn sites years after the abuse. It makes their suffering 100 times worse.

I'm sorry but I simply don't agree. Yes, one submission triggers a review, but hundreds lets them know that there is widespread disgust with the judge's sentencing.

Why do you have such a bee in your bonnet about this? Are you one of the civil servant who'll have to deal with this? Are you related to one of the boys? Let people do what they wish.

Italiangreyhound · 22/05/2026 00:46

Maybe if these boys were raping middle aged men then the situation might seem a bit more realistic for these judges.

I have also written to my MP.

OtterlyAstounding · 22/05/2026 00:26

Done. The judge should be struck off for this.

They should be getting life in prison for this, as I really doubt they'll ever be rehabilitated. The attacks were sadistic, premeditated, and utterly heinous. As I said on another thread about it, frankly, if I ruled the world, I'd just take them out the back and shoot them. If they're free in society, then at some point in the future, I guarantee that they're going to hurt more women and girls. But it seems those in power don't really care.

It took me only a few minutes to submit a complaint.
