I think this will be removed / deleted but i am not saying anything untrue. Or factually incorrect. But here goes...

Since having my little girl just over a year ago I have started resenting men. I dont know why as my partner isnt bad. I just see them in a whole new light.

Firstly, years ago women couldn't vote and it was the done thing that they would look after the children and home and men were the providers. But, many women (not all!) Now have careers, go to work, earn their own money. We can now vote. Aswell as have a career, many women still take on majority of the housework and childcare. Not because men always refuse but they just dont, we do things automatically. Men, just dont think.

The other day I was driving to visit family and saw a car with its hazards on in the slip road... they have broken down i thought. Nope. A man was standing behind his car pissing. It got me thinking, ive never seen a woman pissing at the side of the road. We just wouldn't, so how do men find themselves in this situation? My dog can hold its bladder until "walkies" so what's the issue?

I read that men commit like 91% of murders, most rapes are men and men mostly abuse their partners. Men are more likely to commit suicide, men dont open up and speak about their feelings.. some men transition to become "women" and fight to enter women spaces. I know women transition to men but you dont hear about them!

I just dont understand. Men.. what is the actual problem??? Apart from sperm, what is your actual purpose??

The posts on here today.. oh my man was messaging a coworker inappropriately and he cant get her moved as it'll be suspicious... WHAT!! Nah he has played his part, otherwise it would be as simple as, hey HR this person is being inappropriate and its making me uncomfortable, here are the messages 🤣🤣

Or the other one, my man spent lots of money on my credit card and refusing to pay up... WHAT🤣🤣

What the fuck, we all play our part to with enabling such shit behaviour.

I live in Switzerland since a year ago and was shocked that women only gained the right to vote here in 1971. It then took until 1990 to force the last region to act on this change. So not very long ago! It makes me very angry

It shocked me to learn that American women were only allowed to open their own bank accounts in roughly the same year but I had assumed we were talking predominantly about the UK here.

Yes, 1971 is a shame and is within living memory for many.

1916 however is somones great, great grandma and OP would be so far removed from that experience that I don't really know why she's mentioning it.
Things have obviously changed since then.

We don't prosecute homosexuals anymore but i'm not so sure I hear people bitching about that.

Have you only recently awoken from a fifty year coma? (Or one lasting a hundred years, in fact?)

LavenderSkiesxo · 20/05/2026 15:23

All the dangerous jobs 🤣🤣🤣 okay then they are allowed to murder, abuse, rape... jeezo

They aren't "allowed" to do anything they go to prison if they get caught. Women also do murder and commit child abuse as well. But you want to gloss over that. Ok. Makes you look moronic, but you do you eh.

Its an inconvenient truth to you the the men do the most dangerous and dirty jobs in society. In fact society wouldn't function well if they weren't.

The more you type the more you reveal yourself as a bitter man hater.

The man bashing on this site is getting worse. If men did this on petrolheads you’d all be frothing

Well when women commit 98% of the sexual and violent crimes that occur then they may have a point. Until then..

PlummyAndFruity · 20/05/2026 15:25

I agree OP. I'd add to your list the men from MAFS who have been accussed of rape and assault. Everyone on the threads about this saying it was only a matter of time and the situation the women were put in wasn't safe. Sounds like people think it's inevitable men will rape and assault women they are placed in close proximity to, if there are no witnesses. Scary.

Women got the right to vote over 100 years ago. You're not incorrect but it seems to be a bit wild starting your argument with something that happened at the very least 3, if not 4 generations ago.

Not something you've even had a remote chance of experiencing yourself.

Very goady op.👏

Ive seen both sexes relieving theirselves in public.

Men are only good for sperm are they? What about all the dangerous jobs they do?

Very quick to forget that arent you.

Given that statistics show that women are more prevalently employed in "Soft skills" work, I don't think it would be too long before society collapsed if we only had teachers and babysitters.

The majority of infrastructure - energy, transport and agriculture is run by men.

Sheeppig · 20/05/2026 15:24

Thank goodness you had a little girl then.

This kind of frothing upsets me as the mother of a son, auntie to two nephews, wife etc.
My son is a lovely, kind man who I have raised to be responsible and thoughtful, does he get it right every single time, probably not but does every woman you know get everything right every time?
I also have a daughter so I have to see things from both sides, she would be heartbroken to think people (women) were discussing her brother in such derogatory terms.

So you've not warned your daughter about men??

The Men folk may commit the odd murder here and there, the occasional genocide and so forth, but they did invent some good stuff like electricity and TV. So swings and roundabouts I guess (incidentally both by a man, Charles Wicksteed)!

Yanbu op. I despair at times.

But I agree with this pp that they are occasionally useful

Thats the thing u take from all of this!!!
Fuck me.

Well actually no, my point was you're clutching at straws to bash men over something that happened 110 years ago?

AgnesX · 20/05/2026 15:18

Culture is still evolving since contraception was invented which was, IMO, the main driver for change and equality.

It was actually invented centuries ago but how much it was used prior to the 1960/1970s when it became more widely available is probably up for debate - and how effectively - as it is even now.

Men have always had the freedom and the anatomy to behave like oiks.

Somewhat linked to your OP - I've gone my entire life without needing to spit in the street. What is going on with mens' saliva glands that is forcing them to spit at such frequency? Are doctors looking into this medical concern?

Do male genitalia create huge quantities of phlegm that I wasn't taught about during biology class?

LavenderSkiesxo · 20/05/2026 15:10

Id be lying to say ive never pissed outside! Ive needed badly walking the dog before in the woods but have u ever just pissed in the corner of a street???

The thing you are forgetting here is not that it is men doing this but penis owners - there's a slight difference in that if you had one, you'd find it more convenient to piss on the street if you could discreetly pull out a little hose and have a piss in a couple of seconds instead of having to pull your entire set of pants and trousers down and squat somewhere while you try not to fall over into a puddle of your own urine.

It's because it's convenient, not because its men.

Wishitsnows · 20/05/2026 15:14

@UniquePinkSwan if there was a thread on petrolheads about women there would be no men jumping to womens defence like women do for men on here.

ThisBoldFinch · 20/05/2026 15:13

You asked: Men.. what is the actual problem???

The answer is in your very next sentence: Apart from sperm, what is your actual purpose??

Passingthrough123 · 20/05/2026 15:12

At the risk of provoking an eye roll, it's not all men.

Also, MN is largely a forum for women to vent about what's pissing them off/platform for amateur agony aunts. So of course you're going to get a disproportionate amount of threads written by women criticising men and women agreeing with them– meaning it looks like most men are shits. It's a skewed cross-section of society though.
