I think this will be removed / deleted but i am not saying anything untrue. Or factually incorrect. But here goes...

Since having my little girl just over a year ago I have started resenting men. I dont know why as my partner isnt bad. I just see them in a whole new light.

Firstly, years ago women couldn't vote and it was the done thing that they would look after the children and home and men were the providers. But, many women (not all!) Now have careers, go to work, earn their own money. We can now vote. Aswell as have a career, many women still take on majority of the housework and childcare. Not because men always refuse but they just dont, we do things automatically. Men, just dont think.

The other day I was driving to visit family and saw a car with its hazards on in the slip road... they have broken down i thought. Nope. A man was standing behind his car pissing. It got me thinking, ive never seen a woman pissing at the side of the road. We just wouldn't, so how do men find themselves in this situation? My dog can hold its bladder until "walkies" so what's the issue?

I read that men commit like 91% of murders, most rapes are men and men mostly abuse their partners. Men are more likely to commit suicide, men dont open up and speak about their feelings.. some men transition to become "women" and fight to enter women spaces. I know women transition to men but you dont hear about them!

I just dont understand. Men.. what is the actual problem??? Apart from sperm, what is your actual purpose??

The posts on here today.. oh my man was messaging a coworker inappropriately and he cant get her moved as it'll be suspicious... WHAT!! Nah he has played his part, otherwise it would be as simple as, hey HR this person is being inappropriate and its making me uncomfortable, here are the messages 🤣🤣

Or the other one, my man spent lots of money on my credit card and refusing to pay up... WHAT🤣🤣

What the fuck, we all play our part to with enabling such shit behaviour.

This kind of frothing upsets me as the mother of a son, auntie to two nephews, wife etc.
My son is a lovely, kind man who I have raised to be responsible and thoughtful, does he get it right every single time, probably not but does every woman you know get everything right every time?
I also have a daughter so I have to see things from both sides, she would be heartbroken to think people (women) were discussing her brother in such derogatory terms.

Why would she heartbroken? Why even mention that?
Im not being mean but is she autistic? Cause I cant see why she would be heartbroken.. we arent talking about your son or other men in your life. Just a weird thing to speficially mention your daughter.

Given that statistics show that women are more prevalently employed in "Soft skills" work, I don't think it would be too long before society collapsed if we only had teachers and babysitters.

The majority of infrastructure - energy, transport and agriculture is run by men.

During both World Wars women took on a lot of traditionally 'male' roles (including heavy industries and agriculture) because men were away fighting and they needed to be filled. There are even fewer jobs now which require physical strength. Society might collapse if all men (or all women) disappeared, but not because most jobs can only be done by one sex.

rumred · 20/05/2026 16:53

You're not wrong @LavenderSkiesxo but we live in a patriarchal society and lots of people can't see the misogyny/sexism,or don't want to. And some men are decent, but the vast majority are raised to believe they're superior to women, and therein lies the problem.

PinkMagnoliaTree · 20/05/2026 16:53

All women deserve to feel safe. I mean it's not all men (hate that caveat) but all women know men CAN be predatory and women are prey.

I know what men are like - some are better than hiding it than others is all. It doesn't make me love men any less but I am wide eyed in ways I wasn't when I was younger.

Yellowworm45 · 20/05/2026 16:52

For the people saying it's not all men
If you had a box of chocolates all looking the same
But one of them was dog poo inside the chocolate shell
Would you risk eating any ?
Or would you say no thanks to them all.
Honestly it would massively put me of choosing any of them .
To high a risk as you don't know which is dog poo

If you take a step back, the short answer is probably that we’ve arrived at where we are now because from an evolutionary perspective (both physically and on a societal level) this path has “worked” for humans…so far.

In other words, as a species we have continued to survive and, in terms of overall number, have thrived based on the set up we see around us. By that measure, it has been effective.

That isn’t a value judgment. It isn’t to say that the current set up is “good”, or the best of all possible alternatives by any means.

What we can say though is that it has got humans this far. Life for most creatures is nasty, brutish and short, a constant battle between predators and prey. For the majority of our history it has been that way for us too. But the potential competitors to Homo Sapiens died out, and so we eventually emerged with our messy, often violent, complex societies and we developed technologies that far outstrip our fellow creatures on the planet (for good or ill).

Homo Sapiens could easily have already ended up as a footnote in the history of planet Earth ( and the way we are going, perhaps we soon will be). But looking back, it is quite possible that on a species level the “faults” of men as a sex have also been the same behaviours that helped ensure our collective survival.

The question we face now is whether, with all our knowledge and experience, and with much greater potential to consider and implement alternative ways of being, can we as a species actually implement something better than simply following the same patterns of behaviour which have got us this far.

newmenewwhatever · 20/05/2026 16:50

@darksideofthetoonwomen also do those 🙄

darksideofthetoon · 20/05/2026 16:48

This is a massive one-sided rant against men. Men do horrendous things with zero justification, especially the violence against women. Truly and utterly despicable. Likewise, most violent crime is committed by men. I’m sure there will be people who study this behaviour and perhaps have scientific theories.

However, men also do some unbelievable things from writing beautiful songs, poetry & literature to stepping into burning buildings to save lives.

LavenderSkiesxo · 20/05/2026 15:11

Thats the thing u take from all of this!!!
Fuck me.

I thought exactly the same, years ago women couldn’t vote….yeah 108 years ago!!!

Id be lying to say ive never pissed outside! Ive needed badly walking the dog before in the woods but have u ever just pissed in the corner of a street???

I've seen women squatting down and pissing in shop doorways on a Friday or Saturday night while out in town. Sadly, with increasing frequency.

CocoaTea · 20/05/2026 16:15

@LeaderBee

I don't understand your argument here.

Firstly - 100 years ago is not 4 generations ago.

Are we supposed to just forget historic events that have had an extremely significant impact on our lives just because we were not born at the time?

Shall we forget the World Wars?
Shall we forget colonialism - even though that was in my lifetime?
Shall we forget slavery?

What do you mean?

Edited

How many generations would you say it is?

Can easilly be 5, or it could be 2,5.

ButterYellowFlowers · 20/05/2026 16:44

Women in the working classes have always worked. The myth of the homemaker only applies to a tiny number of women for a short period of history.

newmenewwhatever · 20/05/2026 16:44

Honestly I think apart from sperm, men are pointless!
I know it’s not all men but it’s most men and the others don’t call them out on their bullshit.
i totally agree op

PercyPigsAreOverRated · 20/05/2026 16:44

Pawpaw4 · 20/05/2026 16:38

Your statement men are only good for their sperm says it all. With thoughts like that I do feel for the men in your life, especially your partner. I’d be telling you fuck off and I’d be running for the hills and then see where that gets you, but no doubt you’d see that as the man’s fault rather than your attitude.
Yes there are bad men just as there are bad women but overall the majority of men are just normal people getting on with life.

I really hope it doesn’t come to it, but if you are never in need of life saving treatment the chances are this could be given by a man. Also the majority of men are engineers without whom we would have the equipment, technology etc we have now.

Also the majority of men are engineers

Do you mean the majority of engineers are men?

Even worse, marital rape only became a crime in 1994

That is truly shocking.

AgnesMcDoo · 20/05/2026 16:42

The patriarchy is safe as long as so many women are happy to defend it

Paganpentacle · 20/05/2026 16:41

LeaderBee · 20/05/2026 16:08

Yes they did, and while it isn't true that ALL women are teachers and babysitters I was using these as an example of the kind of jobs women go into because they are statistically more likely to be involved in jobs that require soft skills, I didn't say that no women are involved in STEM or labour roles. but the majority of infrastructure work is undertaken by men.

Sure, you see just how long society keeps on running when it is being run by a workforce that has been reduced by 90%?

87% of the NHS is female.

This annoys me too. I don't know whether men make more phlegm or their Adam's Apple hinders swallowing?

I can see that male design makes peeing in public spaces much easier and quicker but there is an element of lack of shame about it too. I can't imagine using a communal trough in a public toilet the way men use urinals.

Isn't is obvious? Men don't get enough sex (which is of course women's fault) and the build up of cum makes it's way out of the body where it can.

In case it's not obvious I'm being sarcastic.

IkeaMeatballGravy · 20/05/2026 16:41

To be fair what is the point of anybody?

I agree that there are too many shit men out there, and a lot of men deserve to be lonely, but it is unacceptable to write off half the population.

Even if you could keep your daughter away from all men, she still wouldn't be safe. I went to an all girls school and witnessed some horrific girl on girl violence. My bully choked me and threatened to bring a knife into school. One of my friends had her face held down in the snow and the girl only let go when my friend stopped moving.

My DS has been choked by a girl at school and the only time I have yelled at another person's child was when a girl stamped on my son's head at soft play.

What a weird and hateful post. I have plenty of wonderful men in my life and find your view really weird. Let your fella go and find someone who loves and appreciates him.

All the men in my family have been wonderful too, but do you ever worry for your safety if you are out late at night or if you were out somewhere a bit isolated and dark?

LittleRobins · 20/05/2026 16:40

This post is interesting to me. I have some very good men in my life, and some who are not so good. The same for women to be fair. But since having my daughter I do see men differently. I wonder if there’s something that changes in your brain or hormonally when you have a daughter?

Paganpentacle · 20/05/2026 16:40

katepilar · 20/05/2026 16:36

1975 as when you were first allowed own bank account as a woman, omg.

Yes... without needing it signing off by a husband or father.

JeannetteBlue · 20/05/2026 16:39

Also I want to point out how our ideas about gender shape the world we live in. We are a culture, we impact each other. If we want to build a more equal world we cannot run away from that (and just demonise men as a concept) but we'll need to change how we approach gender.

Some studies I read before just showing how adults shape behaviour in boys and girls differently. If we want better/different men, perhaps we need to reduce how much we discriminate between girls and boys and how that impacts them.
