I think this will be removed / deleted but i am not saying anything untrue. Or factually incorrect. But here goes...

Since having my little girl just over a year ago I have started resenting men. I dont know why as my partner isnt bad. I just see them in a whole new light.

Firstly, years ago women couldn't vote and it was the done thing that they would look after the children and home and men were the providers. But, many women (not all!) Now have careers, go to work, earn their own money. We can now vote. Aswell as have a career, many women still take on majority of the housework and childcare. Not because men always refuse but they just dont, we do things automatically. Men, just dont think.

The other day I was driving to visit family and saw a car with its hazards on in the slip road... they have broken down i thought. Nope. A man was standing behind his car pissing. It got me thinking, ive never seen a woman pissing at the side of the road. We just wouldn't, so how do men find themselves in this situation? My dog can hold its bladder until "walkies" so what's the issue?

I read that men commit like 91% of murders, most rapes are men and men mostly abuse their partners. Men are more likely to commit suicide, men dont open up and speak about their feelings.. some men transition to become "women" and fight to enter women spaces. I know women transition to men but you dont hear about them!

I just dont understand. Men.. what is the actual problem??? Apart from sperm, what is your actual purpose??

The posts on here today.. oh my man was messaging a coworker inappropriately and he cant get her moved as it'll be suspicious... WHAT!! Nah he has played his part, otherwise it would be as simple as, hey HR this person is being inappropriate and its making me uncomfortable, here are the messages 🤣🤣

Or the other one, my man spent lots of money on my credit card and refusing to pay up... WHAT🤣🤣

What the fuck, we all play our part to with enabling such shit behaviour.

@Jane379 It doesn't really change my point. A whopping 40% of men not being able to vote as late as 1884 shows that men didn't have universal voting rights either.

It seems to be a widespread misconception that men were always able to vote. Clearly that's not true.

@LavenderSkiesxo Firstly, years ago women couldn't vote

Neither could men. Men did not have the vote until after World War 1.

The other day I was driving to visit family and saw a car with its hazards on in the slip road... they have broken down i thought. Nope. A man was standing behind his car pissing. People have medical issues which means they need to pee more frequently. You sound like one of those people who can't understand why old people walk more slowly.

Second point is that men are less exposed when peeing than women, which is why men may sometimes pee outside.

I read that men commit like 91% of murders, most rapes are men and men mostly abuse their partners.

I agree that's shit. But what I can never understand is why men who commit serious crimes seem to have absolutely no difficulty finding a partner.

Men are more likely to commit suicide, men dont open up and speak about their feelings..

Specifically because women express disgust whenever men talk about their feelings.

some men transition to become "women" and fight to enter women spaces. I know women transition to men but you dont hear about them!

There are more women who transition to men, than vice versa.

I just dont understand. Men.. what is the actual problem??? Apart from sperm, what is your actual purpose??

I mean for one, men do seem to be massively overrepresented in the "dirty jobs" that women won't do.

Men did not have the vote until after World War 1.

  • Sorry, but that's incorrect.

Many orking class men got the vote in 1918 , and everyone else before that, though working class men only gained it gradually:

' As the struggle for greater democracy advanced through the 19th century, parliament was forced to pass three Reform Acts in 1832, 1867 and 1884, each one preceded by mass agitation and riots.
These reforms gradually lowered the property qualifications for men, extending the franchise to many more. Yet even after the third reform act of 1884, only around 60 per cent of men had the vote.'

The forgotten victory: votes for working-class men

Centenary celebrations have removed the 1918 Act from its historical context.

Now now you're being dense dear

I could only open the second link but of that list of 25 inventions, apart from the circular I did not see any blatantly unfair theft by men of a women's inventions, did you read the article(s)?

If it makes you feel any better, the men in my life are great!

Mine too! Adore my husband dad and father in law.

I am lucky because the men in my life on the whole are very decent.

Op your view is too extreme!

Did you know that men account for approximately 95% of all fatal workplace injuries globally and in the UK because they work in more dangerous occupations generally speaking such as agriculture construction, mining, transportation and storage.

This means men are roughly 10 to 20 times more likely to die on the job than women. And as many men work to support themselves and their families, that’s a fairly major sacrifice they make.

And sorry but having lived and worked with animals all of my life I just don’t believe that males and females are the same. This is far too simplistic but very generally speaking males are driven by testosterone which causes them to spread their seed and defend the pack, and hunt, which provides single focus, and females can also be agressive but they will never be as physically strong as men and oestrogen means they have a wider field of vision and greater capability to do more than one thing at once.

This is possibly a controversial view but I think it is also factual; we are all subject to our hormones to varying degrees and we can’t completely escape our biology, however much we think we are civilised and can exercise freedom of thought and action.

I used to think this until I seperated from my husband because of his constant drinking and partying. All of those jobs that he just couldn’t do because ‘men don’t see mess’ etc suddenly were totally within his capabilites when he lived on his own. Suddenly he was able to spend time with our kids by himself when he lived on his own. And all of a sudden he was able to talk about his feelings and do the emotional work when he was living on his own. Stupid me thought these were evidence of him growing up and being an adult man instead of a little fuck boy but no after a year of living with us again the man disapeeared and I’m now left with an even worse fuck boy because he went to six therapy sessions so thinks he’s perfect.

FancyMintShark · 05/06/2026 08:43

Even if they aren’t ‘bad’ men they are generally only ever doing the bare minimum. They won’t rape or murder you but they won’t challenge make friends who show red flags (mysoginistic comments, rape jokes etc). They’ll do the household chores you ask them do but only do half a job and generally need constant reminding. They’ll spend time with the kids but only as a family, they won’t take them out and leave you to chill by yourself. They’ll provide financially but won’t set up a pension or savings for you. I could go on but it’s too depressing.

The first time I identified coercive control (though I did not know what is was called) was in the early eighties when I had a young female patient whose husband insisted on being in the bathroom in the morning while she used the toilet.

Here you go:

https://www.oilfieldtechnology.com/special-reports/09012020/being-female-in-a-male-dominated-industry/

"She added: “Engineering, and definitely in the oil and gas sector to which my sphere of experience is limited, is without question, a male dominated industry. In general, the ratio would be something like 30-to-1 or so from my general observations. Among the complete population of employees in my current role in Iraq – it would be closer to 300-to-1."

Bearing in mind i'm not saying they can't do it, i'm saying it is an industry largely dominated by men, Ergo, few women are doing the job either because they can't or don't want to.

Edited

Doesnt say they cannot do the jobs.....

Still can't see point of this thread 🤷🏼‍♀️

Did all the female refuse collectors also have their jobs stolen from them by men? 🤔

Complicated question; when galvanised bins full of ash had to be lifted to shoulder height and tipped not many women would have found this easy. Not many men could do it all day. Now we have wheelybins is the work environment uninviting or do no woman actually want to do it?

Anecdotally, men working on tarmac gangs had to be capable of the occasional fist fight to avoid bullying - would this be a welcoming environment for women?

I am sure you are largely right, but I think there are still practical and psychological bars to women working in some jobs, even if they fancied doing so.

Also an obvious butch lesbian driving one at another HS2 site but I don't know if that really counts if she identifies as a fella lol

Butch lesbians don't identify as fellas Confused

I didn't mean in the trans way. More that they identify as masculine. Like, if you have a butch haircut, walk like John Wayne, and drive a tipper for a living you're not really exuding femininity.

Construction sites must be intimidating places for most women; after all, they are for many men. But, like STEM, positive encouragement for women to work in construction might be a good thing.

I think I'd find it scarier being a nurse tbh. Certainly a policewoman. But I've always loved fast cars and pickups so driving large vehicles doesn't bother me.

But I'm actually OK with unequal representation as long as it's the result of free choice, which I think it is. Equality of opportunity doesn't usually lead to equality of outcome IMO because most women will choose the careers that appeal to them when they have the freedom to. These aren't usually jobs where you get covered in mud and get dust in your hair everyday IME.

I'm not keen on forced quotas because it often results in people being hired for ideological reasons rather than for their individual meritsl. I recently read an example which I agreed with, which was that the standard of the NBA would likely fall if they mandated that there had to be a 50/50 split between black and white players.

Your lack of comprehension is astounding. No one is saying ALL. Most people do not commit crime. The ones that do though are mostly men. I’m not sure why this is difficult to understand or that it somehow equates to ALL men are bad.

But some posters are actually saying all
overtly stating it’s all men

OP got in a car, invented by men, designed and assembled by men, made from metal cast by men, filled by petrol, made from oil extracted by men, drove along a road, built by men, saw a man urinating by the side of the road, then entered a house, built by men, from concrete, poured by men, switched on a computer, invented by men, went online, invented by men, using programmes, invented by men, and wrote in letters of the alphabet, invented by men 'What is the fucking point of men?'

Its not that women couldnt though. Women were held back in education, in work, in society for millenia. By... men

I would conclude from the above that women largely don't do these jobs, not that they can't. Engineering, for instance, is largely an intellectual rather than physical pursuit anyway.

I've been working in construction for around a decade. Not walking around with a clipboard or sitting in an office. Actually driving concrete trucks and tippers and using front end loaders to move aggregates around etc.

There's no reason why women can't operate heavy plant machinery. The excuse about physical strength doesn't really apply to pushing levers and steering. However, I'm yet to meet another woman that operates heavy plant. I've seen a middle aged woman driving a mini dumper on a HS2 site and another quite young woman driving a 60 ton ADT on a different site. Also an obvious butch lesbian driving one at another HS2 site but I don't know if that really counts if she identifies as a fella lol. But that's about it.

I do see quite a few female truckers though. HD Ricketts seem to have loads. There's about five different young women that come to our plants in arctic tippers and only about two blokes. Possibly because the MD's daughter is a driver. But overall I'm not sure it's even one in a hundred.

100% women don't want to do these jobs. It's only feminists that have ever told me that women can't work in construction because of the 'rampant misogyny' and it's painfully clear most have never set foot on a jobsite. I obv didn't get the memo as it's not even on my radar tbh but I'm glad I didn't read any of that stuff before choosing my current occupation because it might've put me off, although I doubt it.

The man bashing on this site is getting worse. If men did this on petrolheads you’d all be frothing

Quite.

If we're going to assess all 32m UK men on the actions of the 100 that commit femicide each year then surely we should also be looking at the other side of the coin. Like the 32,000 male firefighters in this country working in an industry that is 90% male staffed. It'd be interesting to know exactly how many female lives they save every year - certainly far more than 100. And that's before we consider things like which sex is the one giving their lives to stop tyrants like Putin. I'll bet Ukraine is grateful.

All this doesn't negate male violence but it's hard to argue that men don't provide a net benefit to women if you actually look at the statistics.

Somebody will no doubt point out that it's always other men that they're fighting against but that doesn't change the fact that we'd be fucked without good men to protect us from the bad men. How does the saying go....."People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf".

You only have to look at the plight of women in Afghanistan to see that this is the harsh truth. I always feel like feminists have a really blinkered view. Like, they'll dismiss the actions of good men by saying "oh, well what's the sex of the bad men they're fighting against?"

But you'll never ever hear a feminist or woke person say "FGM? Meh, it's black on black violence. Who's perpetrating it? It's always other people of colour".
