Why is no one talking about Farage's £5 million gift/bribe?

The right wing press had kittens about Starmer receiving some free glasses, yet are shtum about Farage receiving £5 million in the twelve months prior to him becoming an MP. No one gives someone £5 million pounds. Farage is bought and paid for by a shifty, Thailand based billionaire. Why don't voters and the media care?

Because it doesn’t actually change anything. We all already knew he was a disgusting, racist, loathsome crook.

You might like to listen to James O'Brien on LBC, weekdays 10am. He repeatedly raises that Farage accepted £5million crypto currency from the Thai based business man.

Yes, he's one of the few in the media who isn't ignoring this story.

It has been covered widely. I’ve heard and seen it discussed at length on 5live, The Times, times radio, newsnight, the guardian and 5 or 6 political podcasts of every political leaning.

SnozPoz · 06/05/2026 19:03

I've heard a lot about it? I had the radio on on Sunday and It was headline news all day? Maybe mix up your news outlets to get a balanced view?

Because Zach Polanski said something rational.

It’s actually insane. Pure insanity.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 06/05/2026 19:02

Plus a search of The Times app shows they have run stories on this from Dec fairly regularly by one of their flagship political reporters

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 06/05/2026 19:00

They did a whole extended segment on Times Radio about exactly this

I honestly think that because of what Trump has done and continues to do - all of which is SO outrageous on every level - and what Farage has always done - well, we're desensitised. We are walking around like dazed hostages.
Of course the media doesn't help - it's mostly owned by their pals and fellow grifters. The people who think there's nothing wrong with anything are unlikely to read The Guardian anyway - and The Guardian is about as much use as a marzipan dildo these days.
Quite what it's going to take to wake everyone up I do not know.

Ihateboris · 06/05/2026 17:25

Apparently Farage says the donation was for personal security, which makes no sense as he no longer holds in person constituency surgeries....mmmmm

It's bizarre it is not being widely reported. Keir Starmer was hung, drawn and quartered for being gifted a suit and glasses!! The mind boggles.

Well just look to the US to see how the media treated Biden, hysterical over him showing his age, and Hunter's laptop, vs how they treat Trump, mostly ignoring the clear dementia, psychosis and endless grift.

80% of the media in this country is right wing and clearly in bed with Reform. There is a complete lack of scrutiny of Reform coming from right wing media which represents the establishment in this country. Perhaps those who wish to vote for Reform to stick up two fingers to the elite should think twice about voting for Reform. Reform don't represent you, they're failed Tories who represent the interests of the millionaire and billionaire classes.
