AIBU to find his dogs in the bedroom a mood killer?

Would this be a mood killer for you?
new boyfriend of a few months, really like him and we get on so well. Everytime we start having a bit of a kiss and decide to take it up to the bedroom he insists on bringing his 3 little dogs up as they don’t like being alone downstairs.
by the time he has carried them up (too little to climb up) the mood has totally left me and I don’t really like having them in the room for that stuff either.
he thinks I’m being unreasonable…maybe I am?

Absolutely. Let him off.

Tableforjoan · 07/05/2026 19:04

Hard pass.

One I don’t want the dogs anywhere near the bedroom.

Two moment killer

Three dog hands on my naked body.

Nope nope nope.

Leave this man with his 🤢 fur babies 🤢

Wtf

What you haven’t heard of the tale of a man loving having his balls licked and thinking wow and then jumps out of bed as his gf walks back in after going to the loo reliesing that it wasn’t her

……..

Ilovedogs1 · 07/05/2026 18:27

I work with dogs and have 3 of my own. I love my dogs BUT they aren't allowed upstairs at all.

PaperbackWrighter · 07/05/2026 17:10

I love my dog, I think of her as my family and she sleeps on my bed most nights,

I would NEVER keep her in the room when I was having sex. Euuugh. I don't think he should bring his 3 dogs up - it's weird,

somanychristmaslights · 07/05/2026 10:34

Yep, total mood killer. I wouldn’t be impressed.

3 dogs so small they need carried upstairs is weird enough for me.

did he wash his hands?

BauhausOfEliott · 07/05/2026 10:30

I love dogs but I wouldn't want to shag in front of them.

Sunisgettinganewhaton · 07/05/2026 10:28

We have ddogs. Never allowed in the bedroom...
Dcat used to sleep on the bed many years ago when I was single...
He isn't damaged from now sleeping elsewhere imo.

And here it is… the weekly Dog Moanathon!

Without fail, of late, there is at least one post every week moaning about dogs. Then the pro- dog people get involved and we have pages of it going to & fro.

Boring.😴💤

In fairness, this is a new take on 'Do dogs really need to be everywhere'?

Im with you OP - ugh

Dogs anywhere tbh. I once ditched a guy with 2 hectic dogs. Always jumping on me, tails smashing on the walls, slobering, cone on head to prevent chewing the injured tail, more crashing about, sleeping in a cage in the living room, in the kitchen when trying to cook, him touching me with disgusting dog hands, dog this, dog that, vet this, vet that. So fucking annoying! Get rid.

"Disgusting dog hands". I like that. I like that a lot. That should be your new name 😁

Game over from me - you know you will always be second best to these dogs.

SilkSilk · 07/05/2026 09:54

Ugh, no. Just no.

I had a very disapproving cat that might have been the reincarnation of a Victorian maiden aunt chaperone.

I wish there was a laughing react button! This is so funny!

Flamingojune · 06/05/2026 16:27

He's putting you in a difficult position and its not doggy!

YANBU. However, i wouldn't date anyone who had a dog!

Cootanee · 06/05/2026 15:46

thanks all. He did then leave them in the hallway upstairs but it was the whole rushing to bring them upstairs with us that really put me off

You are not being the slightest bit unreasonable. Either dump him now, or next time it happens just get your coat and leave.

HE is the one being unreasonable.
