Violent rapist allowed to stay in UK to rape again

Is there already a thread on this case? I will ask for this one to be removed if so. I am just angry that this horrible man’s feelings were put before the fact that he had a fetish about violent rape.

It is quite wrong that the judge ordered he should be allowed to stay in the UK when it was clear to the Home Office that he would rape again.
Sorry, I have tried to insert a question about there being an inquiry into the decision of the judge to let him stay to rape women again but my phone won’t let me.

Why would he be free to rape again if deported?
What has happened to the interpol?
They can be deported with their whole police files and sentencing. I bet you Nigeria does not have that many barriers to keep rapists in prison.
Though I personally think they should serve their full sentence here before being deported (with their police records).

Greyblankie · 01/05/2026 08:11

But we can’t deport him, think of his human rights! His rights to stay in Britain, his rights to be funded by the tax payer, his rights to a nice happy life! Bless his heart - not his fault he’s from a backwards culture that likes raping women … it’s our duty as good British citizens to put his well being before that of ourselves and our daughters.

🤡

We need Rupert Lowe.

DeathNote11 · 01/05/2026 08:10

I'm cases like this, I thoroughly believe that we should be deporting & allowing the home nations to sentence. He'd likely have kept his sick sexual fantasies in his pants in Nigeria due to fear of the death penalty. They attack with impunity over here because they're not afraid of our justice system.

I just find the case really upsetting. It sends a message that the well being of a truly violent offender is less important than the safety of women. I wonder if the posters defending him and claiming it is a hefty sentence, would be saying the same if it had been child abuse? The violent rape of women is somehow less important than this guy having to face deportation. If a judge felt that Nigerian women were at risk from him, he should have been kept in prison.
I really hope the first judge who allowed him to stay is made to answer for his action. I hope it sends a clear message to judges involved in these cases not to be lenient in favour of a violent perpetrator.

Not one poster on this thread is "defending him" OP.

17 years is a substantial sentence - that's a fact.

The judge at the immigration tribunal in 2024 clearly made a grave error in allowing him to remain in the UK. We are not in full possession of the facts available to this judge, however.

That does not mean that the violent rape of women is "less important" than deportation.

InWithPeaceOutWithStress · 01/05/2026 08:08

I don’t disagree but if he was deported he’d have been free to rape again, only in Nigeria instead of here.

MushMonster · 01/05/2026 08:07

He should serve a full sentence in UK and then get deported to whatever country, I do not care about the risk.
Otherwise, remain in custody.
No way people like this should be allowed to roam the streets.
Independently of their visa status actually. Violent rape should have a much much longer sentence, for starters.

Had this man been simply deported he would have posed a threat to women in his country of origin. I don't think its any more acceptable for Nigeran women to be raped than British ones.
Had this man been deported, it would have made no difference to the fact that our system permits dangerous men to rape women. We would have been safe from this one man, but just as much at risk from the white British men who rape.

Indeed, the man murdered in Dublin, had been deported from Italy to Nigeria for rape, so he came to Ireland and applied and was receiving a payment from the government under his real name . 🥹

Bringemout · 01/05/2026 08:03

I remember an Afghan sex offender who couldn’t be deported because of the Taliban (which I imagine is the case for all afghan offenders), I genuinely couldn’t understand why we prioritised the wellbeing of a rapist over the wellbeing of the women in the UK. Really don’t give a fuck what happens to criminals if I’m being honest.

I don't think male judges should be able to preside over rape cases.

Considering the miniscule amount of prosecutions, I don't think this is a big ask.

We have a male judge in Ireland who hands out pathetic little sentences to rapists and attackers of women. 🥲

Bringemout · 01/05/2026 08:01

It really should be automatic deportation for anyone who breaks the law. I really don’t care if they have a family or will be deported to a war zone. It’s really not that hard to not rape or assualt anyone. The majority of us get through the day without committing a single crime.

I think this case highlights serious flaws in the way we deal with dangerous violent men within our CJS. This is a hugely important issue.
I think it is wrong to use cases like this to prop up anti immigration agendas because it perpetuates the falsehood that if we deport people the problem will go away.

Making this about immigration rather than about how the UK deals with dangerous men in general is trying to fit a problem into your preferred solution which is short sighted and ineffective.

We are not the world’s police. He should have been returned to his country of origin, as he obviously cares nothing for the laws of this country. The penalty for rape in Nigeria can be life imprisonment, and in some states surgical castration. He might have been less tempted there?

His previous conviction was a warning, but he was allowed back into society after a short time, and now there is a young woman whose life will never be the same after his attack.

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 01/05/2026 08:01

Personal circumstances of violent men matter more than our lives. They are supposed to protect the public but they prefer to pander to these lying, raping, murdering foreigners.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 01/05/2026 08:00

Oh another rape case, he said it was his first time drinking alcohol and he couldn’t stop himself. Dublin.

GCAcademic · 01/05/2026 08:00

I don't think male judges should be able to preside over rape cases.

Totally agree. Sick of reading about these privileged misogynist bastards retraumatising rape victims in their courts.

It is really disgusting and it makes me utterly furious.

The previous failed deportation was the fault of the uk government. Although the Home Office ordered his deportation in 2023, he successfully appealed the decision through the Asylum and Immigration tribunal.

One reason for this is the Home Office under the previous Conservative UK Government failed to attend the December 2023 tribunal to argue their case for deportation, relying instead on written submissions.

What is the point of these laws if we don’t properly uphold them? A man who had already TWICE committed violent sexual assault, and the Home Office cannot be bothered to even turn up to get him deported?

THIS is the fault in the system. A government can pass all the laws it likes but if it doesn’t act to uphold them, there will never be rule of law, fear of the consequences of justice.

The man showed no remorse. No understanding of the depravity of his crime.

It’s not that these violent foreign men are laughing at us. They are totally blasé because they know NOTHING will touch them. He goes to prison, he gets let out early because of overcrowding. You can see it coming. This guy will not serve 17 years.

Why, when so many of use Do NOT want these men in our country, can’t we collectively act to remove them?

Great post

EmeraldShamrock000 · 01/05/2026 07:58

It’s an absolute disgrace. They’re failing to do background checks or deport after a disturbing crime.
It is happening all over Europe. Most of the recent cases involving foreign immigrants who have caused significant damage through violence or sexual crime, are found to have previous convictions.
Sadly, a child had her throat cut and stabbed multiple times by her father, he arrived as an asylum seeker, turned out he had previous convictions for rape, kidnapping and assaulting police in the UK, yet he was receiving state benefits in Ireland as an immigrant. He’s one of many who have arrived with very serious previous convictions.
Two men got in a fight both immigrant, in the centre, one had previously been deported from Italy for rape, he died in the fight, his attacker had rape charge in Uk of a young man in disused warehouse in Belfast, he offered teenager a sneaky hidden cigarette before he raping him.

Iheartmysmart · 01/05/2026 07:55

We’re just women - we should put up and shut up. The whole justice system is abysmal when it comes to rape and sexual assault. The rights of the perpetrators seem to be far more important than our rights not to be raped.

FinchiePink · 01/05/2026 07:54

ClassyCuckoo · 01/05/2026 07:50

Do you really think he’ll serve 17 years? I don’t.

Of course he'll serve 17 years. That's the length of the sentence.

What you mean is you want all 17 years of the sentence to be custodial. A sentence can still be served outside of prison in this country.

Divebar2021 · 01/05/2026 07:52

Yes the article does say that the decision not to deport him was made in 2024 after his first conviction and 17 years is not a slap on the wrist.

SpryCat · 01/05/2026 07:51

When someone abuses someone else’s human rights then their own should be ignored and he should be deported.

ClassyCuckoo · 01/05/2026 07:50

FinchiePink · 01/05/2026 07:47

I don't think a sentence of 17 years in prison is "a slap on the wrist". It's a fairly substantial sentence by anyone's book.

I really hate reading judgements like this. Guilty of a horrible, horrible crime and they would deport / lengthy sentence etc. but mitigation means you get off with a slap on the wrist.
