Matcha, leggings with socks over, botox, yada yada yada

So bored of it.

This is nearly every mum in my area, pilates & matcha, botox and handyman & cleaner recommendations. No depth, no real worries..basic.

Aibu to want to meet funny, down to earth mums with depth and interesting pasts and conversations?

I feel exactly the same. Playgrounds and toddler groups and soft plays round here are full of them it’s awful it makes me feel like an alien

I genuinely long for the days when my biggest problem was needing cleaning recommendations and getting Handy Man round
I was so happy then
Now I have depths apparently and grey hair and wrinkles and I’m permanently running on adrenaline and stress, probably the equivalent to an antelope on the planes
That’s so much better

No they don't. People used to wear trainer socks or socks under leggings before it became unfashionable.

I get where you're coming from, OP. I don't get this weird need to dress identically to the other mums, I always thought people grew out of this shit once they became an actual adult.

Agree with you. A lot of younger ladies seem to be carbon copies of each other. Leggings, sports socks, botox and lips, the same dull interests (at least on the surface of it)
Predictable Instagram crap, the same chavvy curled long hair.... Ugh

I’m also a lawyer in the City, love reading historical non-fiction and will happily debate politics.

Just because someone wears leggings, gets Botox and has a cleaner, doesn’t mean they are shallow.

I don't wear leggings outside my house
Matcha is grim
I don't do pilates
No botox either.

I am still pretty damned boring though so not sure we would be friends? I definitely do not feel the need to conform. Trying to teach DC this.

@Wheredidallthegoodonesgo I get what you mean. It's not the matcha, pilates or botox per se; it's what it says about them all "obeying" in a sectlike manner to what a woman should do/like. I find it incredibly tedious. Rather keep my RBF and stay expressive and have a personality of my own.
