We can all agree that Hamas we’re in the wrong though can’t we?

Yes they were in the wrong.

Sadly, there are many self-proclaimed feminists for whom VAWG should only be spoken of if it fits their own political narrative. Otherwise they want women who have been subjected to violence to stay quiet, or they join the crowds in defaming them as manipulative, untrustworthy liars.

You see it as well with feminists who prescribe to gender ideology and deny that any women have been raped by TIMs, or those who are against borders and label any evidence of migrant men committing sex crimes as lies. Anything that threatens to topple their hierarchy of oppression must be denounced as either lies or excusable in the circumstances.

The hierarchy of oppression. Too true.
It's also much worse; some people would ally themselves with fascism - the antisemitic, misogynist, homophobic, nihilist, anti democratic groups such as Hamas, rather than support women who are victims of sexual violence.
It's a blind spot. A damaging one.

In my FB feed, the people who deny or minimise the sexual violence that was a deliberate part of the October massacres, seem to be the same people who are telling me that most women in Iran are happy to have their hair covered ; that the numbers of protesters shot by the regime have been grossly exaggerated and that the protests were orchestrated by Mossad!

Unbelievable!

Misogyny at it's worst. Women have no rights. That is all.

Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Israelis were victims on October 7, that’s a fact, but they’re no saints and haven’t been since 1948.

Can we please not do that on this thread?

In the pictures, the crotch of their jeans were absolutely blood-soaked. What the hell did she think happened to them? Sickening that she can say this.

It doesn’t bear thinking about what those poor women went through, it really doesn’t.

And the fact that it’s another woman denying it happened makes it even worse.

The Green Party have turned in to the Islamist Party. They are full of people like this.

Lifesd · 04/03/2026 10:53

5MinuteArgument · 02/03/2026 17:45

Useful idiots. Enablers of terrible behaviour. I hope these people are the first to feel the heat if at some point in the future the Islamists come to power.

I agree - I’ve said this before on previous posts that the hoops left wing loonies will jump through to defend murderous terrorist ideology is insanity itself

Boilingfrogatprimaryschool · 04/03/2026 10:51

Their strap line is not 'Hope, not Hate'. It is 'Hope not. Hate'.

They are a vile bunch of useful idiots who will find themselves discarded sooner rather than later by the voting membership pulling their strings.

So sorry to hear that 🥺

Its a fucking disgrace.

Can someone explain to me what happened to the Greens? I thought they were supposed to be about the environment? How did this kind of identity politics take over?

The trot out some such nonsense that ‘they believe social justice goes hand in hand with environmental protection’ and use that as an excuse to go heavily into the trans, antisemitism, wealth tax and giving every penny in tax take to those who can’t be bothered to work. Quite a lot of idiots fell for it so paid off for them.

Environment? What environment?

Growing up in Germany I am obviously painfully aware of my country’s history, which is why I cannot understand why over there people are throwing the Jewish community under the bus ‘because Gaza’.

It makes me so angry.

And I know it’s no better over here.

I saw a Jewish woman being interviewed on Sky News (in Brighton I think) and she said she still wears her Star of David necklace proudly, and apparently an elderly man commented on it and said he is hiding his under his clothes these days.

How is this acceptable?

I can’t understand why everyone is falling for Polanski’s rubbish.

They can’t be very bright. The former Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies Paul Johnson tweeted yesterday that:

”Green Party manifesto promised borrowing on a staggering scale. It was wholly unrealistic and would have been catastrophic if any attempt made to implement it. They have doubled down since. They must now become more realistic.”

And that’s before we talk about their antisemitism, misogyny, lack of real care for the environment. Polanski is the idiots idiot, appeals the young as the young have yet to understand how issues like the bond markets reacting to prolific, unfunded spending promises (or antisemitism or misogyny) are deeply damaging to the society we try to live in.

surrealpotato · 04/03/2026 10:28

What do you expect from the crackpot Greens. They're utterly demented.

I can’t understand why everyone is falling for Polanski’s rubbish.

Different people have different priorities.

In terms of hierarchy of issues, I guess the planet being unsustainable to support human life is greater to some than women's and children's right to be free from rape and sexual assault. The VAW&G in a climate catastrophe where billions are displaced will be unspeakably horrendous.

Not saying I agree, or that they are always mutually exclusive. But I think for many people Climate change has fallen off the radar and they think Green party are the only party who would take drastic action.

I also think there is an element of not believing Greens will get into power. But it could force Labour to not drop their environmental promises to avoid risking their share of the vote.

Either way, I can see why Greens continue to get votes. Far too few people look beyond the surface level. Many people are willing to hold their noses for a protest. There isn't a great alternative. And a lot of other people just don't care about.

As I said, I wouldn't vote for them again.

LucyWestenra · 04/03/2026 10:20

It really is and I don’t understand why there isn’t more outrage.

And I’m sorry, all this ‘It’s the Daily Mail’ doesn’t wash, you can clearly see her in the photo screaming at police while waving the Palestinian flag.

I used to support Green Party in Scotland. But honestly their politicians and policy whilst in power were a shambles.

Sometimes they had nice ideas, but it was idealistic there was never a sensible, well thought-through plan to make it operational.

And then there are the bits that are just down-right offensive.

I can’t understand why everyone is falling for Polanski’s rubbish.

Goodness knows @LucyWestenra. I love your username but then I would, wouldn't I?!

Seriously, that woman is an absolute disgrace. Shameful embarrassment who should just go away and shut up. Not that I agree with silencing women, but I do agree with silencing people who chat absolute rubbish.

Yes, love your username too! 😁

Read the book and loved the original movie. Actually got to meet Gary Oldman earlier this year after his performance of Krapp’s Last Tape in York.

Got his signature and my husband took a photo of us (in which I look shell shocked). Proper bucket list moment.

He was so lovely and kind and his wife was too.

But anyway, back to the topic…I agree with everything you said.
