I don't care.

Every political party has its fair share of idiots; idiots who occasionally tweet something stupid or offensive.

Overall, I still think the Greens are the best choice. Best for the environment, best for the economy, best for society.

Their poll ratings are skyrocketing, and they just won Denton and Gorton, so clearly lots of other people agree with me.

Leaving aside everything else, do you really believe billionaires are going to stick around long enough to have their wealth ‘redistributed’?

Yes, I double checked, because it was from the Daily Mail.
You can see her tweet. The source is clear.
Her anti female stance is demonstrably clear.
I hope that she's not going to pronounce on the girls and women of Sudan, and the systematic rape going on.
Perhaps their word isn't enough.

That last sentence sounds so sad.

We should always believe rape victims whether Sudanese, Jewish or whatever.

It's a new low in a cynical world to not believe the rape victims on 7/10/23.

Hmm. Let me see... perhaps it's because:

  1. Reform are far-right racist assh*les.
  2. the Tories spent the last 14 years destroying the country.
  3. Labour started with a lot of promise ( I used to vote Labour ) but have since been a disaster.
  4. The Lib Dems have zero momentum.

I like the Greens ( and will vote for them ) because they want to protect the environment, redistribute wealth from billionaires to public services, and are pro LGTB.

Really, what's not to like?

Why did you put the B last? I know we (bisexual people) are often overlooked, but come on! Makes me rage (and they don't care about the LGBT people who don't agree with them either!)
(You can say arsehole here too.)

Meanwhile, to that idiot woman denying the horrific violence of the 7th of October attacks. WE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!!! (Yes I am shouting.) What else is she going to deny happened that day? I just cannot with these people anymore. I can't think about the loss of life that happened that day and the subsequent loss of life in Gaza without feeling utter despair. I'm very much in the pro human life, anti murder and war camp.

She tweeted these things and they were reported in other sources too.

It makes me question Greens as an electoral choice if they would employ someone with those views and not sack her when she made them. The Green Party are not denying she made them by the way.

Weirdly, they assume that all Israelis are white.
There are Arab Israelis, Muslims, Christians, Druze, Bedouin... however, that doesn't suit their narrative.

Yes, funny that.

I never believe anything I read in the Daily Fail. It's mostly right-wing garbage.

If Abi Wilkinson DID say that, then that's appalling. But it doesn't undermine the Greens as an electoral choice imo - particularly given how awful the alternatives are.

That’s absolutely shocking. She should be in trouble for false reporting. I don’t usually say this but she could have ruined an innocent man’s life.

This is not surprising in the slightest. We have got to the point in the western world that no black or brown person can ever be held to account for their actions. white people are continually told they are racist, have unconscious bias and white privilege. No criticism of a black or brown person is allowed no matter what. You say Michael Jackson wasn't the worlds best singer, your racist, call Meghan out on her lies, you are racist.
Racist is a word used to beat white people and to allow anyone who is not white to act as they please and demand the world do their bidding.
white liberals made this situation.

It’s called tactical voting and at least it kept Reform out. What worries me more is that Reform voters lack critical thinking skills so that they are willing to forgo their employment rights, rights to bodily autonomy, maternity & paternity rights including leave and job protections, rights to equal pay, rights to an abortion, and are happy for single childless women to pay an additional tax for not having children (even if they physically can’t) and we go to a potentially ruinous private healthcare option. Reform policies impact women and disable people disproportionately. DEI isn’t just for the ethnic peoples it’s for all women and those who have protected characteristics under law. Reform also want to get rid of the two child cap so they can afford a 5p reduction in the price of a pint. Note they’re not making childless or feckless men pay additional tax or even their child support. But as long as they have a slightly cheaper pint.

Reform are happy to tell us who they are and what they are going to do if they get into power. Best believe it. One thing they won’t do is actually get rid of illegal migration entirely, because then who will they blame when the rich get even wealthier and the ignorant poor need someone to blame. They need their bogeyman and they will keep it.

Reform are also happy to destroy the environment, (Labour are not much better) and are dismissive of the harm that gender ideology causes to women, even in prisons.

You used to be able to rely on the Green Party to prioritise the environment, but these days they are more interested in promoting Hamas and transgenderism.

What really surprises me about the trans issue is those promoting trans rights clearly did not think of the rights of women who have been sexually assaulted. These people and their right to privacy were disregarded. The thought that AGP men exist is also disregarded. Says a lot about the sheltered lives of so many ‘Good’ middle class people.

I think some of them just don't care.

There are no kudos points to be had in standing up for abused women.

ColdWeatherWarning · 02/03/2026 18:45

Some people are so obsessed with 'supporting the underdog', no matter the situation, that they cannot accept/admit the underdog ever does anything wrong.

It reminds me of the Swedish(?) woman who was raped by an immigrant but decided to blame a local man instead, because reporting the poor ickle immigrant would be mean and racist and unfair on him.

That’s absolutely shocking. She should be in trouble for false reporting. I don’t usually say this but she could have ruined an innocent man’s life.

Maggie Chapman telling Tom Swarbrick on live radio that she doesn’t know her sex because she hasn’t had her chromosomes checked.

These people have power over our lives. It’s appalling. They celebrated putting the income tax up too. Currently in Scotland the 40% rate is 42% and starts from £43k not £50k as in England. Therefore if you earned between £100k - £125k you were paying a marginal rate of 62% income tax (64% if you include NICs), but the Greens decided we needed to add an extra 3% to that for those earning from £75k - £125k. Which begs the question:

a) did they not think 64% was enough already, or
b) are they so stupid they don’t understand marginal rates at all and genuinely thought that those on £100k-£125k were paying a marginal rate of 42% (+2% NICs) not 64% (now 67%!)?

I predict b) as these are achingly stupid people.

Thank you for that.

She doesn’t know her sex because she hasn’t had her chromosomes checked?

🧐

Fuck me.

And yes, the tax issue is appalling. Always easy to spend other people’s money though, isn’t it?

Excellent points, @DabOfPistachio .
I remember seeing an interview with Obama when he criticised people for "calling out".
He said some people wave placards, repeat slogans and post on social media without information, context, nuance or reflection.
They think they're in the right because they've "called it out".
They must be a good person.

I do find this interesting. This kind of denial comes from a few things, I think. There's the well known phenomenon of confirmation bias where people simply give more weight to any information that fits what they already believe and discard what doesn't. But I think for a certain type of person, it goes a lot further. I think there are a lot of people whose entire identity is wrapped up in being a 'Good Person' on the side of right.
And it's much easier to simplify everything into Gaza = Good and Israel = bad than it is to look at the incredibly complex politics and history behind the middle East, behind Israeli history, behind Hamas, behind Gaza and Palestine.
I think its a form of deep intellectual laziness and cowardice. If the October attacks didn't happen, then that 'Good Person TM' can go ahead and campaign and malign Israel in good conscience.
No questions have to be asked. No thought needs to be be given as to how to solve an incredibly complex and longstanding religious and political problem. They don't have to do anything other than turn up with a placard and shout a bunch of slogans and sleep easily at night knowing they are doing right.
But if the October attacks did happen, then as a 'Good Person', then if they are simply going along with everything, including supporting Hamas, then they are aligning themselves with something so incredibly horrific that their brains refuse to believe it can be true.
Because that puts them into the bad people camp.
People don't like questioning themselves or their own beliefs. Even on this thread, we've had a poster look at the source of the story as the Daily Mail and immediately try to persuade us all to dismiss it.
They've not made any attempt to verify whether this particular story true or its not. Just dismissed it because that's easier than asking whether it is and then having to reassess or update their beliefs and knowledge about the Green Party.
In many ways, I think this kind of thinking has replaced a lot of traditional religious belief as Britain has become more secular. It's turning a particular political alignment into something in which you either have complete faith and need to defend, or you're a heretic.

Great post.
