No-one. I would have reported it, had they done so.

There would have been a mass report by every poster on the this thread I expect, if anyone had said that about Palestinians being animals.

Didn't the Queen refuse to engage with Israel after a British negotiator was killed? We weren't talking about terrorist groups.

Why do you keep trying to make Israel the baddie here?

I’m sorry, but I’m seriously questioning your motive here.

That is why people think the Green Party is a joke and worse, pandering to the very worst of the extremist Muslims. They keep coming out with lies and crap.

Ffs Hamas filmed some of the abuse and murder themselves, put it online and celebrated what they were doing. I don’t get how anyone can deny it.

Edited

I am so relieved I never saw any of those images (I don’t have twitter or facebook, just Instagram) and then I feel instantly guilty for thinking like that, because people had to live through this and yet I can’t even look at an image or video?

But yes, to deny it happened is beyond the pale and I wonder what goes on in the heads of people who do this.

Not much I suspect.

@LucyWestenra thank you once again for your support. Posting online shows Jewish people that not everyone hates us, which might be surmised if a Martian fell to earth and read some of the comments here! ❤️

Of course we don't and that poster was highly offensive.

I reported them though I know some people say - let it stand to see the crap some people put out there - but I just couldn't.

Comments I have read about flattening Gaza because Palestinians are animals are not helpful either.

Who on this thread has said anything remotely like this?

No-one. I would have reported it, had they done so.

I think that if we are going to argue for humanity and treating everyone humanely, comments like yours are not helpful either. Comments I have read about flattening Gaza because Palestinians are animals are not helpful either. If you genuinely support human rights, extend it to all human beings not just one group.

Who said that?

Nobody on this thread

I started writing a reply and deleted it three times because I honestly don’t know what to say anymore.

The fact that we are here again after ‘Never Again’ and that so many people are blindly jumping on the bandwagon and following each other like sheep (which is not an excuse) and condemning the Jewish community as a whole makes me so sad and angry.

The Jewish community is never responding in anger or retaliating.

There is no school teacher in hiding because he criticised Judaism.

I could say more but I fear this thread will be taken over by the usual shrieks and accusations of ‘racism’ so I won’t.

The Jewish community faced an unspeakable and unprovoked attack on the 07 Oct 2023 and despite that they have conducted themselves with nothing but grace and dignity.

There are no vicious attacks, verbal or otherwise, against their perceived enemy.

Just quietly carrying on in spite of all the hate and venom thrown their way, not just from the usual suspects but from British people too.

I know it may not feel like it at the minute and it may not mean much in the face of all you have been through, historically and recently, but you are on the right side of history.

I am so sorry you are made to feel like this. ❤️💐

Good post. Totally agree. It makes me laugh the way Left-wing comedians like Stewart Lee think they are cool, edgy outsiders ‘fightin da system’ when they are the f-ing system. To be an edgy outsider today you’d need to be a patriotic conservative.

The other thing that sickens about the Left is the way they think they’re the ‘goodies’. If you are on the Left, then you are good by definition. In reality, they are every bit as vicious and hate-filled as the right. But because their hatred is directed towards white, middle-class Daily Mail readers, somehow it’s OK. It’s OK to demonise their national heroes, it’s OK to rob them of a tribal identity. When it was done to the Native Indians, that was colonialism, but when it’s done to British people, it’s enrichment.

I no longer live in a country with a shared history or shared culture. When I was young, I knew who I was. I don’t anymore. The Left have done all they can to fill us with shame and self-loathing. We have been systematically taught to hate ourselves. The Left have done what every abuser does. First, you break your victim’s self-esteem. You make them hate themselves. Once you have done that, they are putty in your hands. The Left have had to make us hate ourselves in order to make us accept mass immigration. If you hate your own country and are ashamed of its history and culture, then you don’t care if it is swept away and replaced with something new.

Absolute bollocks stated with such great confidence.

Please understand this! I'm not Jewish, no connection to Israel, I've just been horrified at the rise in antisemitism and decided I was always going to speak up.
Like the saying about good people doing nothing. That was a very distressing post, but it's been deleted, so I hope you can feel that not everyone feels that way.

Thank you @OrangeAxolotyl it is heartening to have voices like yours and @LucyWestenra to balance the rampant anti semitism on here and elsewhere. Most grateful to you x

That’s absolutely shocking. She should be in trouble for false reporting. I don’t usually say this but she could have ruined an innocent man’s life.

I think she did get punished, yes. Can't find an article or update now (it was many years ago, maybe around Brexit time?) but I seriously would like to know what her reasoning was, and if she's had therapy to combat it.

There's 'suicidal empathy' and then there's this mindset. I don't know if it has a name. But a frightening number of activists nowadays seem to have it, like this Green idiot.

I am part Jewish and not antisemetic, but some of the things she is saying are along the lines of what professionals have said - the woman appointed to investigate rape said that, after asking Israel for all relevant information and evidence and reviewing all evidence in existance, there was no evidence of organised or systematic rape, that there was very little evidence of rape at all (although there was no denial that it could have happened) and that some false evidence had been given (a family of a girl who had been tragically killed publicly said that the reports she had been raped were untrue, they knew this as someone had been in phone contact up to the point of death). I can't remember the woman's name but I could find out.

The reports of babies being beheaded were also shown to be debunked. There were also reports which showed evidence that some of the physical damage had been done by IDF (this is not to do with rape obviously) and that many of the burned victims were Palestinian civilians who had followed Hamas through the fences. Some reports said that some of the killing and potential rape could have been done by the civilian groups. There were reports from inside Israel by Israelis saying that their family and friends near the border had been calling for help from Israel for several hours before help arrived - this is what Charlie Kirk was saying in interviews in the month leading up to his death, and there was a lot of anger from some quarters that this was being said.

This is not to lessen the horror of the 2 year long hostage situation. It is more that the professionals involved felt it was important to be accurate about what evidence there is and what evidence does not exist or is lacking.

She also commented on "lebensraum" which is not permitted according to Jewish websites, as any comparison with Hitler is seen as antisemetic (even though the lebensraum ideology in fact originally came from America in relation to the colonisers' perceived right to take land from Native Americans, Hitler found this inspiring) but moving away from that word, there has been a lot of talk from Zionist quarters and indeed Trump, apparently, about a "Greater Israel" which arguably could amount to the same thing.

I think it is more important for everyone to focus on a two state solution and protecting Gaza from non-Palestinian property developer billionairs, rather than any partisan tweeting.

@OneLoyalLurker Many Israeli women, at least those who didn't die of their injuries, HAVE come out and spoken about their rapes and sexual attacks on and after 7 October when they were kidnapped! Even the Guardian (no supporter of Israel) reported them. Shame on you with your misinformation and lies.

I am so sorry you have to keep seeing vile posts like that @HappyFace2025 .

I wish there was something those of us who abhor those views could do to counteract it all.

Just posting online in support doesn’t seem enough.

But I remember a poster on a previous thread of mine said she’d sent an email to her MP (didn’t say who it was) about the pro Palestine marches and how the Jewish community was being harassed and felt intimidated and said she just received a mealy mouthed response.

So this goes way deeper than just ignorant people posting online Mumsnet.

The antisemitism is deeply embedded within politics too and it’s the same in my home country.

I could say why I think this is the case but I think most of us know.

I just don't understand the need for such insane denial of the facts. It's absolutely possible to feel that women and children in Palestine shouldn't be murdered AND ALSO that Hamas are utterly evil and barbaric and Israeli women and children shouldn't be murdered. How about we feel empathy for any and all innocent victims. Why does our empathy need to somehow be limited to an either / or one side is all good and the other side is all evil?

It’s all about being seen as Good People. Good People only deal in black and white. They’re either passionately FOR something or passionately AGAINST something. They don’t deal in nuance. No one ever got overexcited about nuance.

I know, it’s so deeply upsetting.

And infuriating.

Imagine this happening at a music festival over here or anywhere in Europe…it was barbaric. And the attacks in the Kibuzzes as well.

I will never forget the face of Shiri Bibas when she was abducted with her two babies.

I looked at the article as really wanted to see the other side (if nothing else I hate the Daily Mail) but this really is beyond low. We saw ample coverage of women, alive and dead, with bloodstained clothing, bloodstained thighs. There are numerous witness accounts. I cannot even begin to understand why someone would deny this.

Israeli forces raping anyone is a war crime and should absolutely be exposed. I am surprised it has been commented on so little.

But the two things can co-exist. There are ample pictures you can see with your own eyes of female hostages (alive and dead) with bloodstained clothing, posts from Palestinian social media, pictures from reputable international sources.

Acknowledging that widespread sexual violence took place is not the same as saying that innocent Palestinian women and children deserved to be slaughtered. But it is acknowledging a fact. Of a terrible thing that happened to equally innocent Israeli women.
