What's the longest you have stayed inside for ?

6 days after I had DS and was kept in hospital as I was unwell. I was going stir crazy once I started to
recover.

Probably a few weeks during Covid and also after second baby was born, just hibernated. It was nice! I do love getting outside every day but if I needed to for some reason I know I can hack it. Just do what your body and mind needs

5/6 days following surgery. Then made DH throw me in a wheelchair and get me outside. The feeling of the wind and sun on my face was unforgettable.

Pottering around the garden is fine. We just need a bit of fresh air and daylight in our eyes. I’d go stir crazy but each to their own.

About two months when I had a bit of a mental breakdown combined with horrible morning sickness while pregnant. It was not a good time for me. I don’t think I actually even went downstairs.

It's healthy. Not everyone needs to shove themselves outdoors for sake of another person's idea of wellness.

I didn't leave my house for around 4 weeks after having each DC. It was a dream. I had the best time with them, and was fortunate to have DH take care of DC1s school runs and events after I had DC2.

After a disgusting work situation, I would have stayed indoors for ages if not for DC. Home is my sanctuary.

I had surgery a month ago and I've been at home since then. In fact it's nearly five weeks since Ive been anywhere. I actually went outside on saturday when the sun was out but generally the weather has been horrible so not exactly pottering around in the garden weather and for the first three weeks I was in bed anyway.

I could stay in indefinitely. I have been called lazy by many people, but I work full time and I like sleeping and doing nothing so as long as it doesn't impact on anyone, I figure why not? Obviously I clean, do washing, tidy, cook etc, but if I can do it without seeing people and going anywhere, it's perfect for me. I've been the same since I was a child.

I’m recently home from a 17 day hospital stay. Was horrible, couldn’t even open a window. That’s my longest ever!

I’m disabled and I often don’t leave the house unless it’s for medical appointments, so every few weeks.

I had to stay in hospital for 5 or 6 days after the birth of my first child. That's definitely the longest.

Other than when ill I think very occasionally one day if work is insane, but even then I would try and go out even just for a stroll late at night.

@LadyMacbethWasFierce I’m so sorry for your loss and can completely understand the not leaving the house thing

I am disabled (long covid - such fun) and have very poor mobility. Some weeks the only thing I leave the house for is knitting group, and I can go from arriving home from that at 12.30 on Monday, to leaving for the next week’s group at 9.30am the following Monday.

If I’m more unwell than normal, or if knitting group is cancelled for some reason, I can go more than a week without going out. I don’t even have enough mobility for a wander round the garden at the moment.

Sometimes I love spending all weekend pottering around indoors, at least I do at this time of year when the weather isn't great. During the week I'm working, then I'll do the grocery shopping on Friday evening then not emerge from the house until Monday morning. So I suppose around 48 hours or so. I don't often get the chance to do it though, I usually get dragged out for some reason or other, but it's nice when I can manage it.

After my daughter’s funeral on 24 November last year I didn’t go out again until 21 December when we flew out of the country to escape the UK Christmas. And I’ve only been out once a week this year - to go to her grave. And once to get a tattoo. I have basically just stopped going out. I do see people. Quite a lot. But only at home. Before that I went out pretty much every day. For work and for socialising. I was busy and sociable and happy. The longest before that without would have been a week in 2022 when I was really ill with Covid.

If you feel like you need it, then you probably do. Listen to your mind and body.

It's a bit cold and wet, but if you get any dry spells, can you take a cup of tea into the garden and commune with nature for 15 mins?

When it gets a bit lighter in the mornings I usually have my first cuppa of the morning sitting on the patio in my dressing gown.

I think we managed five days when we had COVID during the first week of the first lockdown - but we did at least have a balcony to stand on/pace up and down. I think I cracked on day six and went for a walk.

Awful, though, I hate being cooped up indoors!

17 weeks over lock down. Perfectly happy, no reason to go out. No MH issues. Obviously sat outside as nice weather but literally never outside of house boundary.
Apparently very weird behaviour but I was honestly fine. These days (ie no restrictions) I can easily do 5 days without leaving the house.
Currently it’s Wednesday 5pm. Last time I was out was last Friday.
Obviously I have a really shit step count. However I’ve also never had Covid 🫣🤣

Gosh that sounds really unhealthy. Even if I’m ill I’d try and get outside after a few days
. Unless it was flu and I couldn’t move from bed.
