she’s being made to sell their home and work, taking jobs she wouldn’t normally, and being away from her kids?

I know some of you are gonna be like ‘poor little rich girl’ 😂😂😂 but honestly, what kind of man is this?? Feel for her a little (from my own, much lower, tax bracket)

She’s living in a 6 bed house that he owns. He’s offered to buy her a 4 bed outright and put it in her name, but she’s refusing. Does that sound a bit stupid to anyone else?

Ok, didn't know that bit if so - that changes things slightly - slightly less knobhead 😁 - why doesn't she take that then?
House outright in her own name a lot better situation than in now and more stable!

StepAwayFromGoogling · 23/01/2026 22:48

She's not a SAHM though. Her children are all at school now. She's a SAH. So she thinks her Ex should pay for her to sit on her arse from 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday? She should get a job like everyone else.

CloakedInGucci · 23/01/2026 20:20

Why would anyone think they could continue to live in a house owned by their ex fiancé, and be financially supported by them to the extent they didn’t have to work?

This is why I’d never be a SAHM if I wasn’t married before having children.

Yes, this was my thoughts too - I feel for her potentially having to leave her home with their kids (what kind of knobhead dad is he wanting to boot the kids out of their home?!)
but I can't get my head round moving in with someone and having kids with someone who you aren't married to, and not on the house /mortgage either!
You're basically just a tenant who's put themselves in an awful situation, sorry.

To be fair, he used to play for Man City and Celtic, so wasn’t always a lower league player.

And Swansea.

DameOfThrones · 23/01/2026 22:40

I remember her in I'm a Celebrity, talking about money.

She said she never has a clue how much is in the bank, she'll just go shopping and 'Kiss the magic card and hope' 😬

This. I still shake my head in despair when I see ANYone saying 'marriage is just a piece of paper.' Errrrr, no luv it's not. It's a deep commitment, and a sign you love and care for that person, and want to spend the rest of your life with them. It's also a contract that protects you both.

Being with someone long-term, and refusing to ever get married, just suggests you're waiting for someone better to come along.

I have known many a case where someone is in a relationship with someone who refuses to get married, and after 7 to 10 years or so together they split. Within a year, the one who has refused to get married is married to someone else.

So it's often not that they don't want to get married. It's just they don't want to marry that one particular person.

All of this
I wish some women would understand that a man can buy a house with you , have sex with you , have children with you and still not believe that you are ‘ the one ‘

To be fair maybe these interviews are paying for her deposit and she doesn’t have anything to sell apart from this story

Well, she's got an acting job, so maybe she's planning for the future now.

She’s a sahm though, that’s her job 🥺

Yes but not when you need money! Otherwise we would all love to do that!

cannynotsay · 23/01/2026 22:35

I’ve meet her a few times. Honestly lovely down to earth lady, has her hands full with the kids and just doing her best like we all are xx

19lottie82 · 23/01/2026 22:34

mumofoneAloneandwell · 23/01/2026 20:57

😂😂😂 why? Being a sahm is a job! Just like being a housekeeper or a cleaner is a job 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Thats really cute, but the definition of a job is “a paid position of regular employment”.

It is a job. But that's usually only possible by the privilege of two people living together as a couple and one earning well. Why should he provide that for her when they are now separated? I do agree he should provide a significant financial contribution for the children based on his wages. But not to the extent that she never has to work

It reminds me of the film ‘he’s just not that into you.’

Absolutely

And this. FAFO. She's not the sharpest. Why have three children with him if he's as bad as that? I doubt he is, though. I'm not saying he's dad of the year but she's no prize either.

Lampzade · 23/01/2026 22:30

fashionqueen0123 · 23/01/2026 22:14

And this is why people who say marriage is just a piece of paper or doesn’t matter, are wrong.

Absolutely

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 23/01/2026 22:28

They had a relationship that played out in the tabloids and it was blatantly obvious he was messing her about and blowing hot and cold throughout. Why she had three children with him only she knows.

He had premier league money that is now second division money and he isn’t prepared to prop up her lifestyle. Quite a lot of these actresses/pop stars end up with footballers thinking it’s a lucrative and exciting lifestyle but it ends up being high paying for a short time and then a precarious grind long term, particularly if they aren’t trained to do anything else.

Rubyupbeat · 23/01/2026 22:25

This house is in his name, he also pays all of the bills. He has offered to buy her a 4 bed in her name. He has shared custody of the kids, so yes it's sad she only gets to see them 50% of the time but then why should he get to see them less of the time.
She is already talking about wanting to someone new, so can't expect her ex to pay for her new bloke to live in a house he is paying for.

WhyIWonder · 23/01/2026 21:25

This belief only works if you have good support either in the form of an ex partner or extended family. I am a single parent with a professional career and since divorcing my ex husband, I have found full time work a challenge alongside single parenting. It is a constant hamster wheel of managing school, childcare, sickness, activities, normal childhood emotions. Women are sold a fantasy that we can be all to everyone including our children snd the workplace when in reality, that is rarely true.

I have a professional career and a deadbeat ex who declares an income of £5k a year and has them EOW. So no maintenance.

It’s fucking hard, yes. I post regularly on here about how shit it is. I still don’t believe single mums must necessarily be funded by their ex to sit at home all day. It’s not realistic. In fact, I am enabling my ex to sit in his arse, just in a different way.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 23/01/2026 20:39

She’s a sahm though, that’s her job 🥺

It was, as long as she had an agreement with someone that he'd be the earner while she did that. The agreement has ended. She might also have decided she wanted to work at any time.

I respect people's choices but this is why I couldn't ever give up work completely. I'd be so vulnerable if I were entirely financially dependent on someone who might choose to stop, or become unable to continue. No able adult of working age is entitled to be completely supported by someone else.

A Coronation Street actress married to a Bristol Rovers player? Hardly a a 'rich girl'? surely? Just a soap star married to a minor league football player?

Edited

She also has a decent social media following. As someone with a significant (but very much lower) following, I know how much she will be earning just from that alone. She absolutely is rich.

Ask Andy Murray why he is no longer playing tennis and winning Wimbledon. Is he ill or just useless?

(I hope for your sake that you are not seriously questioning why a 36 year-old footballer is no longer playing for a top club.)

😂😂 that’s not the same thing

and Andy Murray’s job isn’t just a tennis player, he has various endorsements etc

Gahr · 23/01/2026 22:19

Why is it his fault she is short of money? As long as he is paying for the kids then he's in the clear. She's always whining in the media. She just needs to get on with it.

CommonlyKnownAs · 23/01/2026 22:19

Hopingforaholiday · 23/01/2026 22:16

I’d take the no maintenance with a pinch of salt. There will be a claim under pt 1 children’s Act where parent is a high earner. It’s a negotiation then ultimately court decision.
So he might be saying I’ll give you £500,000 for a house in your name, school fees and csa level maintenance. She might want 6 bed, bills paid, school fees and additional maintenance.

I agree, not sure I believe the zero maintenance claims.

AquaLeader · 23/01/2026 22:18

mumofoneAloneandwell · 23/01/2026 21:25

😂😂🙈

id be annoyed tbh - why has he lost his job? Through uselessness or illness?

If it’s the former, I’ve been broke so I’d just become single again. TBH I get the ick from him!
