People who just grunt at me instead of giving me a straight answer to a simple question. It is not hard to say yes please or no thank you if i ask you if you want a drink.

People who put their phone on speaker and then hold it flat in front of their face. Usually while in the supermarket or on public transport.

ThatCraftySquid · 20/01/2026 12:27

Faffers.

Faffers in general, but Faffers in public transport and plane specifically give me the rage. You are not in a rush to board? Then wait for the very end of the queue and faff around, without blocking everyone else in the process. Then hopefully the staff will tell you to hurry up, there's a schedule to keep up with!

You are not in a rush to get out? Then sit the fuck down and stop blocking the aisle when people behind you are standing up, ,luggage in hand and ready to rush because unlike you they don't have all day.

And stick to one side when you walk so other people can run past you.

NimbleHiker · 20/01/2026 12:18

Emails that start with this is a gentle reminder. The word gentle is unnecessary.

People who expect me to do 10 tasks at once.

Samewrinklesnewname · 20/01/2026 08:12

DS not shutting the utility door-it lets the cold in!! (Ok so that may be a what’s irritating me RIGHT NOW)

Bunnymcgee · 20/01/2026 08:08

When people say things like 'sambo' or 'sarnie', even 'mayo' winds me up a bit if it's used constantly (if I hear it used once or twice by the same person it doesn't bother me too much but more than that and it will start to irritate me).

The current trend for comments like, "this is your invitation to..." on social media posts and marketing, when it's not actually an invitation, they're just telling you to do something.

The squeezing of water bottles. That cruuuunch sound. Makes me want to kick something

Omg me too! It’s a physical pain.

StrawberrySquash · 20/01/2026 08:03

Influencers who start their video, and then decide to introduce themselves 10 seconds in. Totally breaks the flow of the video.

StrawberrySquash · 20/01/2026 08:01

People who refer to themselves as Mum WRT their pet.

cheapskatemum · 20/01/2026 07:53

Thanks @Unhappyitis(great username). It does me too!

magicalmadmadamim · 20/01/2026 07:52

People who buy huge cars they clearly can not drive to look flash. Usually with vain beefcake looking blokes in. Posers!

Cannedlaughter · 20/01/2026 07:49

People who stop in a shop door way for a chit chat or to look for something in their bag.
people who can’t let go of their shopping trolly, hold onto it for dear life and take up about 10ft of shelving whilst they look for the best banana or whatever in a supermarket

allydoobs83 · 20/01/2026 07:26

I have so many;

-People that don't cancel their indicator after a roundabout
-People that suddenly stop in front of you, especially whilst in a supermarket
-People that block your lane during lane swimming because they want to swim side by side and have a natter
-People who think that they are competing in the Olympics, during lane swimming
-People who say "Guys"
-People who stand too close in queues
-People who park too close behind you,so you can't access your boot properly
-People who don't put the "seperator" down on the checkout counter, after they've loaded their shopping

I have millions more to add,but I'll leave it at that for now!

SisterMarie · 20/01/2026 07:05

Co workers who try to show me long videos of their kids doing something funny when im on my lunch break🤦‍♀️

SewingIsMySuperPower · 20/01/2026 06:40

People who pepper their speech with the word 'like'. The odd one is fine. But every other word is absolutely infuriating. And distracting so I often miss what they are actually saying.

Also people who pronounce anything as 'anythink' (relatively common near where I live).

See also:

'Youse' (yes I know it's a dialect thing)
'Should of' (this should be immediate jail time)
Using the wrong their / there / they're or were / we're (it's really not that hard to get right - obviously dyslexics get a pass)

Once I get to work and have to deal with people I'm sure there will be more 😂

Cando6 · 20/01/2026 06:21

At baggage reclaim. People who rush to stand directly inches away from the belt so nobody can get near to see their bag or have space to lug it off. JUST STAND BACK.

I am not sorry I whacked you on the legs when I pulled my bag off. FFS

Nugg · 20/01/2026 06:04

Getting my sleeve caught on a door handle

People who misunderstand perfectly clear emails or miss the entire point and don’t respond to it

People who call my phone without warning 😱

I’ve posted about this before, but it still annoys me, so here goes:
at work there’s a cupboard for crockery & it’s stacked in piles. To me it’s obvious that you have a pile of dinner plates, a pile of side plates, a pile of bowls etc. So why do people put bowls on top of plates, dinner plates on the side plates etc?

I think that would actually give me the rage.

BubbadueJuly2026 · 19/01/2026 19:19

When someone posts on Facebook “Currently at the hospital” or checks themselves in at A&E and everyone rushes to ask what’s wrong and they reply “I’ll message you”

Attention seekers

NimbleHiker · 19/01/2026 19:14

The smell of tinned sardines. The tv remote as it always ends up at the back of the chair.

My video doorbell. I get a notification when my neighbour walks his dog.

My mum's endless monologues are so annoying. I could write a book about her constipation as she has endlessly droned on about it for the last week.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 19/01/2026 15:58

Weather forecasts which say things like 'Rain in the north, brighter and warmer in the south'. Excuse me? I'm in North Yorkshire, could you please tell me where your 'north' is? Scotland? North of Watford?

Is it going to rain on me or not?

booknerdhead · 19/01/2026 15:58

Cars up my behind when I’m just happily following the speed limit (particularly in the dark on winding country lanes)
Starting your meal before others are served. Bad table manners generally.
People who don’t drive having no clue what I need to know and no, petrol is not free and coming out of the sky.
