People who just grunt at me instead of giving me a straight answer to a simple question. It is not hard to say yes please or no thank you if i ask you if you want a drink.

When people pronounce 'mischievous' as 'mischeevious'.

Oh my, is that not how it's pronounced 😱

When someone spells lose as "loose". Drives me nuts

lol! Mine is when someone spells Angel as angle.

LushLemonTart · 21/01/2026 00:18

Pinkertoner · 19/01/2026 14:17

People who drive but can’t be arsed to indicate.

The police need to stop them, take their keys off them, crush their car and chop their licence up into a billion tiny little bits.

🤣

The squeezing of water bottles. That cruuuunch sound. Makes me want to kick something

My grandson does this, it drives me mad 😁

booknerdhead · 21/01/2026 00:06

Estate agents describing houses “nestled” in blah blah blah.

Flatandhappy · 20/01/2026 23:32

When DH comes out of his office and asks “has anyone taken the dog for a walk?”. The fact that the dog has been asleep at his feet for the past two hours never stops the question being asked.

Waddleduck7 · 20/01/2026 23:14

People who say, "I seen...." instead of, "I saw....."
People who try to sound posh by using I instead of me... "This gift is from Dave and I."
The word yous/youse. This makes me cringe. 😂

Wreckinball · 20/01/2026 21:54

‘S for plurals
Even worse saw a sign in a shop recently - scarf’s
answering a question with a question
general useless communication- I was like and then he was like then she was like and I was like and we were all like - meaningless noise
not indicating
sniffing
chewing gum while working behind bar/waiting on
retail workers completely ignoring you- I don’t want to chat or have a new best pal but a hi when there’s only me and you in the shop would do it

I came on here to write the same comment, but I see you beat me to it!

I really don’t understand why this annoys me as much as it does. My spelling/grammar is far from perfect, so I probably sound hypocritical, but it really winds me up when I see this.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 20/01/2026 21:42

I say this on everyone of these threads. Elsa is a queen, stop calling her a princess and show some respect you plebs!

Pancakeflipper · 20/01/2026 21:39

Dear Highways Maintainance Team
I'm glad you put signs up on our little street telling us not to park on our street for a week because you are doing some work.
But bloody turn up.

We've all made an effort to keep our cars off the road, inform visitors/carers for our elderly neighbours etc. But did you turn up? Nahhhhhh

manicpixieschemegirl · 19/01/2026 14:31

Oh also people who over pronounce the g in words that end ing so thinking becomes thinking-guh, etc.

I think that's just dialect though, its common in Midkands where I used to live

Mumtumtastic · 20/01/2026 21:28

Dear pants, I love you dearly, I wear you daily. Please oh please don’t do that thing anymore where when trying to put you on my foot lands squarely on the gusset instead of through the leg hole.
Remove foot from gussetty trap, widen leg hole and then do exactly the same again (weeps)

It is also usually at this point the DH and kids will come marching in to witness the trauma inducing scene of mummy’s post shower tits flapping about and doing a demented knicker dance BECAUSE THEY WON’T FUNCTION AS NORMAL PANTS DUE TO SOME KIND OF COSMIC ANOMALY !😵 ‼️ ☢️ ☠️

RosesAndHellebores · 20/01/2026 21:19

Aks
Myself
Going up the hospital/school, etc
People chewing gum if they are serving
People who don't indicate
People who don't say please and thank you
Baby talk
Drips on the toilet seat
Cyclists on pavements
People who dither on street corners so I can't see the oncoming traffic
2026's incessant bloody rain

When DP asks me a question about the dog but through the dog:

DP to the dog: "Are you okay? Is this lump getting bigger? Should we take you to the vet?"

Similarly, when DP gives me instructions through the dog:

DP to the dog: "Do you need a wee? Should mommy take you out for a wee now?"

😤

If DH did that, I susoect I'd find Holloway annoying.

NimbleHiker · 20/01/2026 21:06

But equally, people who end an 'ing' word with 'in'....Pritti Patel, I think you are a great person, but listening to you winds me up beyond all reason!

mustwashmycurtains · 20/01/2026 18:23

probably all of the above. best summarised as ‘people being inconsiderate and unobservant’. I get told I’m impatient but I go out of my way to avoid inconveniencing others - if you aren’t differently abled/elderly/with young kids then you should be doing the same.

Peeling fruit, especially oranges

Emptying the dishwasher when something has slipped or has a recess on top and gets full of water then drips on you unexpectedly

Putting on and taking off a bra, especially sports bra

Can I add, putting on a sports bra after a shower when you are still slightly damp...

I had genuine rage with mine the other day, because it's soft and unstructured and I kept putting my head through the wrong hole and then it all just bunched up around my back until I was writhing and howling like a raccoon trapped in a bin.

JennyChawleigh · 20/01/2026 18:02

People who misuse 'myself ' or 'yourself' in sentences

People who stand next to each other on escalators so you can't walk past them if you're in a hurry.

You see, I would have to reply on behalf of the dog in a woofy, growl voice.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 20/01/2026 14:54

Blocking walkways. Dh I'm looking at you. He stops in a doorway or halfway up the stairs to look at his phone. He is a broad tall man and totally blocks the space. I've stopped being polite about it
