We've had 2 birthdays in work today and I didn't join in with the singing of happy birthday. I hate it. Have a great day and all that but I don't feel the need to go and join in.

I also hate Christmas, it's a waste of money. Love the time with family but the rest of it can fuck off.

I also hate going for a wee and stopping for diesel.

What do you hate?

When people buy from wish/AliExpress/temu/shein type websites. Nobody needs anything from those places no matter how cheap.
Mother in law does it all the time then complains the items are broken, not as described, can't be returned, poor quality etc. Stop buying from them then!!!

New Years Eve. Spiders and slugs. Dogs without snouts. Bar stools. Smear tests. Populism. Standing in pubs. Illogical thinkers. Mobs. Shellfish. Terracotta paint. Putin-Trump-Farage. Left wing antisemites. Right wing Islamophobes. Bifold doors. The smell of bacon. Small print books. Primary colours. The lack of vocational career paths. Perfumed pantyliner. Posters who say Eww that's grim on MN threads about personal hygiene or housework. Framed prints of Kate Moss/Marilyn Monroe/Audrey Hepburn. Air freshener.

I could go on forever. I have so much hate it's exhausting.

Hahaha I love the randomness of all these things. Nothing relates to each other on the lists. Love the random specificity.

Xmaswear · 07/12/2025 21:27

People pleasers. They enable and give power to the narcissists. Telling them they're wonderful and beautiful when they're enourmous arseholes. So they carry on bullying and abusing. Just stop it!

LilyCanna · 07/12/2025 21:14

The infiltration of everything by ChatGPT and its smarmy bullshit damaging education, stealing intellectual property, creating slop and completely unnecessary demand for water and energy, increasing climate change. All the fucking apps and websites trying to force ‘AI’ on you, and making you scroll past it to get to actual content.
And breathe.

  • Football crowds
  • People who stand and drink at the bar when people are stuck behind them waiting to be served
  • Drivers with unwarranted road rage
  • People who flake out of social plans at the last minute
  • Daylight saving hours
  • Sunday trading hours / reduced public transport
  • Washing and drying my hair
winnieanddaisy · 07/12/2025 20:50

As a PP said, APPs. Especially Temu . I’ve never bought anything from them and never will. I’ve clicked on an advertisement to look at an item , but no, you can’t have a nosey , you have to download the app . No thanks I will do without . I hate them trying to blackmail me .

TheEveningSun · 07/12/2025 20:33

The first thing that comes to mind as I think about every day is feeding my children - yes I said it. I have a bloody anxiety about tomorrow’s breakfast already! And dinner! Absolutely hate it. It’s so rare they actually eat it without the fuss. All that effort trying to feed them good nutritious food, cooking and thinking what to cook that’d be accepted and not met with ble - most new things.
also hate Christmas - alll the unnecessary crap we buy for the sake of buying. All the hype from pretty much Halloween, same shit every year. I got to like a bit since having kids but still feel it’s ridiculous having to buy presents for adults and not just one but “bits and pieces”, don’t like receiving them, it’s usually something I don’t need unless I specifically ask for it then I see it pointless - can buy it myself, but I’m just playing along because DPs family are obsessed with it.

There’s a guy at my gym who makes grunty sex noises on the treadmill. MY EARS.

CoolPlayer · 07/12/2025 17:34

when people throw rubbish especially out of moving cars, people who see you go out of your way to hold a door open and don’t say thank you, the smell of compostable bags, when my sock decides to keep falling down inside my boot, could go on 😂

Mum23plusC · 07/12/2025 17:07

Forgot how much I hated this aswell until today- walking (actually running) through town and the bloody people who stop you for considering donating to their charity. I'm not mean, I give to plenty of charities but dont friggin ask me how I am today, to engage me in asking to set up a direct debit for your charity! Feck off!! I'm shopping FFS, its p'ing down with rain and you want to ask me a couple of questions and give you my bank details?!! If I want to donate, I will in my own time and in my terms. Whilst I'm on this I'll add that my MIL got totally inundated after she'd set up a direct debit to one, they then wanted to know if she would increase the amount she gave!!!. Just NO.

lifeonmars100 · 07/12/2025 16:25

People belowing into their phones on the bus, I have often travelled the whole 30 minute journey into town being forced to listen to someone who seems to be able to yell for the whole time without pausing for breath

BarbieShrimp · 07/12/2025 15:38

Sloppy chewers. Open-mouth chewers are the worst, but there are also people who still manage to swill food noisily with their mouth closed. People who can't chew without intermittently opening their full mouth with a loud "mchhllohm" sound.

People who moan "mmm" as they're chewing. If I can hold back from screaming at these fuckers, then surely they can hold back from going "mmm" in the first place.

Utterly sickening, and completely disappointing that they've reached adulthood still behaving like that.

NimbleHiker · 07/12/2025 14:52

I have thought of another one. I hate it when people refuse to move from a seat that i have reserved on a train. Then there the people who put coats on seats. I didn't realise that coats needed a seat. I hate it when people persistently ring until i answer just so that they can endlessly drone on about their trip to sainsburys. It never occurs to them that i didn't answer the phone straight away because i was in the shower.

Flu/viruses. Cleaning. Arseholes. The relentless fucking hamster wheel of daily life. Laundry. Computers. The sound of people eating. The sound of people breathing. Liars. Phones. Reading glasses, glasses generally - how is it in 2025 we have these awkward fucking foldy poky things to stick on our faces like two shite magnifying glasses? Why isnt it invented better? Toasters. Emails. The cold. The heat. Talking. Also bras.

I'll stop now and come back later, there will be more.

😂

Teenagequeenwithaloadedgun · 07/12/2025 13:11

I missed out attention seeking posts on Facebook. Anyone who checks into a hospital but won't say what's wrong or posts a video or picture of them crying or looking sad should have an automatic ban for a month.

Picking up a bottle of shampoo and conditioner, taking them to the till and realising I’ve got two bottles of conditioner or two shampoos!

I did this just this week, except I got them all the way home before realising! It makes me so disproportionately, insanely cross.

Charities annoy me. A local one to me pays its top bosses six figures. They argue you need decent people in those jobs to raise the money, but it feels wrong.
ds 2 works for one and donations are down , but when you hear things like this , it makes you wonder.

I made a donation to Maggies in memory of a neighbour who died from cancer, a one off to honour her and it was what her family had requested. They now email and write to me, it makes me feel low level guilt.

I love this thread, I feel seen and heard! I thought it was only me who almost has a melt down when I find myself cleaning the kitchen yet again, muttering under my breath on bin night, wanting to cry when I change the bed, and being driven to low level insanity by apps. And as for the state of this country and in fact the rest of the world, I can only deal with that in small doses. The other day I worked out that since my marriage ended and despite having a couple of relationships after that I have basically done everything and paid for everything house wise for nearly 40 fucking years and I am beyond sick of it now. I sometimes contemplate living on tea and toast but I know that this is not healthy, very temptiing though

Drying a wet dog after being out in the rain

the80sweregreat · 07/12/2025 10:46

Also, even if you gave everything you own to a charity cause ( big or small ) the following week they would want more. My late mum was brought up in poverty in the 20s and 30s and can remember the appeals for charity abroad when they could gave done with it themselves. Plus the red nose charity is still after cash and some places are still without proper running water.
I always feel that something has gone wrong in so many sectors of the charity causes, who actually gets all the money they raise?

MoonWoman69 · 07/12/2025 10:37

Another one has just popped up.
Beggy charity adverts, wanting your money for all on sundry (especially worse at Christmas!) and no word of thanks in the advert, in the hope you might be daft or rich enough to donate the vast amounts of money they're wanting from you!
If I put an advert out begging for money, I'd at least have the decency to add "thank you" at the end!

the80sweregreat · 07/12/2025 10:33

My late mum hated how ‘ Americanisms’ ( as she called it) crept in to everyday things! I guess we are influenced by many American shows and films to change some words. She also hated the fast food places that has eveything you eat or drink out of as throw away. She may have had a point though considering how much waste there must be.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 07/12/2025 09:56

Ditherers and faffers.
Goat’s cheese
’Milk and cookies’ for Santa/Father Christmas! Fair enough in the US, but PLEASE not in the U.K.!
