We've had 2 birthdays in work today and I didn't join in with the singing of happy birthday. I hate it. Have a great day and all that but I don't feel the need to go and join in.

I also hate Christmas, it's a waste of money. Love the time with family but the rest of it can fuck off.

I also hate going for a wee and stopping for diesel.

What do you hate?

OP posts:
Sasha07 · 05/12/2025 16:42

Having to decide what to have for tea/dinner every fucking day for the rest of my existence.

Having to decide what to get while food shopping.

Washing cutlery. Pairing socks. Picking that little bit up from the counter after I've deep cleaned the whole kitchen and where tf did that even come from.

School receptionists.

People who are loud, opinionated but fucking thick as shit and not worth arguing with even though they're wrong and their logic is bad enough that it'll bring on a medical episode if I spent too long trying to figure them out.*

*Hate that I didn't use a comma or full stop and/or reframe that last rant so it reads too long but I hate that I have to put any effort into fixing it. So I won't.

Trades people who charge a fortune because they can.

TeaBiscuitsNaptime · 05/12/2025 16:41

If I have to wait till pay day to do something, especially for my kid. It just feels like a waste of potential. A persons productive years are limited considering things like age/illness/caring responsibilities etc and by the time we mature the most productive time is between 30-45. Holding back growth because of money bugs me. It would be great if society worked on a system where if you need it you get it and if you don't, hand it over to someone who does. Or maybe it's just my weird perspective 😏

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:41

I picked up a cake that was ‘ eat by the 23rd Dec’
It made very angry, which is just irrational really lol

Monty34 · 05/12/2025 16:38

Lots of restaurant table layouts.
I detest sitting so close to people who I do not know that I cannot have a private conversation. Sitting so close side by side with about a two inch space.
I won't eat in such places anymore.

Lottapianos · 05/12/2025 16:37

'Christmas should be every four years.
Olympics style'

My mother in law used to say this, and it was one of the very few things that she and I agreed on! Every sodding year, the same old shit - it's TOO MUCH 🤦🏻‍♂️

Cabinqueen · 05/12/2025 16:37

HelenaWaiting · 05/12/2025 12:27

Well, don't fuck them, then.

😆👏🏼

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:35

Christmas should be every four years.
Olympics style.

soocool · 05/12/2025 16:33

Christmas
The run up to Christmas
Christmas shopping and gift buying
Christmas decorations and tree
Christmas musak in every fkn shop. Why?
Having to get stamps for the three cards I still send to those far away.
Having meet ups with all and sundry, in December. I never want to see a Christmas menu again.
The total frenzy around the place, between full public transport, shops, roads, and a full me, because I'm eating my way through the pain of pre Christmas.

Charlize43 · 05/12/2025 16:32

Narcissistic Influencers - I was recently on a weekend away at a place of interest and we were stuck outside in a queue in the freezing cold because... wait for it... some has been, ex-realty TV Z lister and her boyfriend were taking pictures for her Instagram.

If I'd have been closer I would have thrown rocks at them!

Monty34 · 05/12/2025 16:30

Slow shoppers or almost in a sort of trance like state.
Why everything you buy just before xmas has a use by of 24 or 26 December.

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:29

Clothes are a faff. You wash them , wear them , back in the wash and drying process , round it round it goes.
Trying your find any to wear isn’t easy now either , the fashions are just awful for older women unless you want to pay a fortune

ArabellaSaurus · 05/12/2025 16:26

Mummyto3ginismyfriend · 05/12/2025 14:34

The word Holibobs
The school run
Shaving my legs
Emptying the cat litter
People that send voice notes (just type it like a normal person)
Working out what to eat every single day.
Putting laundry away

Clothing. Getting dressed and undressed every day. So boring! Put them all on then endure all day and then just bloody take them all off again.

Did you know that people who wear PJs out have special 'going out' PJs? What is even the point?

Edit: sorry I was intending to violently agree about voice notes but got distracted.

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:24

How everything is ‘ subscription’ or put up with the rubbish adverts. At least I can go to the loo during the break, but the money these people make is shameful.

'that Starbucks have lots of decaf coffee options but don’t have any decaf tea (wth!)
-baristas who add milk to tea as they make it. so it’s awful pale undrinkable and tepid'

YES to all of this! Tea drinkers get treated like absolute shit in cafes. Three pound fifty for some hot water on a minging tea bag. No tea menu anywhere to be seen. Far too much milk being put in your tea instead of being served on the side. Really awful. Going out for barista coffee is a genuinely nice thing for coffee drinkers, but its total crap if you want tea instead

So true. I only drink herbal atm as can’t drink coffee due to gastric issues (don’t really like regular tea) and over £3 for a herbal teabag and water.
V different having a coffee out as I can’t make barista coffee at home. I have an old Nespresso but even when I drank coffee it wasn’t the same as a good coffee shop offering.
I bloody miss coffee!!

'Your password should be 12 characters long, a mix of upper and lower case, contain a number, a super special special symbol, some Assyrian poetry, two parkour moves, and your most shameful secret.

But I won't reveal all of these crucial stipulations until you fail to include them, one by one. '

Ohhh God yes ! Wtf do they need to be so complicated.
If I choose to use 12345 or PASSWORD and someone hacks my account it's my fault and I am happy to take that chance

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:21

I have been known to attack the plastic cap on milk bottles. The bottle came off worse.
Also those caps you get on skin cream and some on toothpaste and condiment bottles.

Hicupping · 05/12/2025 16:20

Housework. All of it. Used to flatshare with someone who loved ironing and offered to do mine, in good conscience couldn't let her.
Slate roofs - need repairs, no roofer is interested in small jobs. Honestly will look rubbish but just put big sheets of something up there. I've never once had an issue with extension roof and it's been on there since late 60s it's got wavy asbestos sheets. :-)
Microsoft - monetising everything and making your life hell with it. Today has been hell with Power bi licensing.
Shrinkflation - new lipstick is so short! Got an old box for 12 Asda OB wipes, it's huge, 80 wipes per pack.
En$hitification - see huggies babywipes - avoid new 48 size packs they've just changed.
Don't have one but cars with subscriptions to use them. Stop with the subscriptions.
Corporate greed. Offshore our jobs who is going to have money to buy your products.

Edit - popups - websites, microsoft, yes I've got it, and the insanely needy Cult beauty, don't leave me popup because you moved cursor towards edge of browser and 'we saw you looking' follow up emails.

Friendlyfart · 05/12/2025 16:20

Websites that crash after spending half a day inputting an order. You can see what I’ve been doing today!

Hair washing/drying/going to hairdresser (either expensive or shit).

Being cold

People who faff w their wallets/phones when getting in a bus/at the til. Unless you’ve run for the bus there’s no excuse.

CBA w Xmas this year. I’m Jewish but I do the turkey etc for the fam - we have crackers and a jolly afternoon but it’s been a shit couple of weeks and my spirit has nosedived. Also need to get Chanukah presents - which is in just over a week.

Peoole who say ‘hollibobs’ and ‘fur babies’ - just no.

Obviously Trump & Farage, but also any populist leader left or right.

Antisemitism from both sides, but particularly the left. Know better, do better.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 05/12/2025 16:09

Slow walkers.
Slow Drivers.
The plastic seal on bottles of milk.
Putting the Christmas tree up.
Putting the Christmas tree down.
I could go on!

FishPie2 · 05/12/2025 12:43

People who get on the bus then fiddle about for what seems 5 minutes looking for pass or money then want to chat to driver about why they can't find it. How long have you been stood at the bus stop waiting for the bus. 😒
4 people walking abreast on the pavement then give me such a look when I ask to get past them. Shift.

Every morning I get on tbe bus with the same woman EVERY DAY she faff arses around looking for her pass.
Even in the dark mornings we can see the bus from about 5 mins away because it has to go around a round about and then back on it's self ( really annoying junction ! ) and yet she always gets infront of everyone then buggers about for what feels like ages .
I always want to say look the bus is coming find you pass NOW

.GRRRR .

the80sweregreat · 05/12/2025 16:07

Washing my hair is a pita. Drying it is even worse

LittleMissyHappyMe · 05/12/2025 16:07

In no particular order:

trying to lose weight
winter
cheap wine
dawdling shoppers
motorways
ketchup
cold callers

used to hate Christmas so cancelled it! Would recommend

EchoedSilence · 05/12/2025 16:07

Winter
Bananas
Sourdough bread
Showering
The word 'chav'
