We've had 2 birthdays in work today and I didn't join in with the singing of happy birthday. I hate it. Have a great day and all that but I don't feel the need to go and join in.

I also hate Christmas, it's a waste of money. Love the time with family but the rest of it can fuck off.

I also hate going for a wee and stopping for diesel.

What do you hate?

Anything to do with medical appointments and making medical appointments. Bring treated like you've got a hell of a cheek wanting to see a GP for the first time in four fucking years and they're really being very generous.

Women who make having kids their entire personality.

As a man you perhaps have no idea how often we see:

"Employed as a full time stay at home mummy" on dating apps.

😩

Being asked to smile for photographs, Why should I smile if i really don't feel like it? I hate faking stuff for pictures.

Hahaha I didn't notice that either! Zombie threads!

People who watch YouTube/ TikToks/Instagram reels/answer video calls on public transport. I’m curious to hear from these people as to why they think it’s ok to be so selfish! If you can afford a smart phone, you can afford headphones.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 01/06/2026 16:25

Rats my cat has caught recently. One time she ran off with the dead one thank god, the other time she left it in the garden and I had to get a neighbour to dispose of it. I mean I don’t hate them as such but seeing a lovely dead one lying there makes me boak.

The managers at Sainsbury's who think it's okay to have seven people/couples queuing for the sole staffed till.

People who assume I want to hold their newborn. It feels so inherently sexist. I've never seen anyone thrust their infant at DH or the men at work but the women are practically expected to crowd round and coo at them. I will absolutely there when they hit the toddler stage, but am not a fan of babies.

Also people who bring their newborn into the office.

Having to repeat myself.

I love a newborn cuddle! Yes, hand them to me.

ChocolateApples · 01/06/2026 16:15

Terrible lighting in public spaces. Spotlights that glare straight into your eyes everywhere. Light should be diffused. I don't want to see the filament. This is why we invented lampshades.

maddiemookins16mum · 01/06/2026 16:13

People who eat food they haven’t yet paid for in Supermarkets. Nobody needs to tear open a bag of crisps that urgently. That goes for kids too. They won’t collapse with hunger.

oh and influencers, get a proper job fgs.

'Also people who bring their newborn into the office'

YES to this. Very painful memories of having to hide in the toilet or invent a meeting just to get myself out of there before I cried in front of everyone

Impatient people in supermarkets and streets and roads

It is probably me! 😂 I hate people dawdling infront when I need to be somewhere, especially when they stand side by side blocking an entire pathway. I am also a fast walker.
I also hate when somebody is standing for ages looking at tomato soup for example with no regard for others needing to get their shopping in as well, (just pick up the damn tin already)!

AgentPidge · 01/06/2026 14:18

Re the supermarket queue thing, people who pack all their stuff away and THEN think about getting their purse out and finding their card. They could do that in the queue and save us all having to wait, seething.
I put up with catching myself looking like a discombobulated gnome on the self- checkout camera thingy just so I can avoid being held up by oblivious idiots.

People who congregate in shop doorways or the middle of shop aisles to have a chat.

Fuck off out the way you weapons, go to a cafe or something to have a catch up, not the middle of the fecking veg aisle.

People also do this by zebra crossings!

wornoutjeans · 05/01/2026 13:11

Going to bloody work , I am grateful to have a job , just not 12 hour nightshifts that suck my soul out of me and make me exhausted for days

NimbleHiker · 05/01/2026 13:08

I have more. I hate cutting the grass. I hate people who persistently phone until i answer just for a chat. I am not one of these people who hates answering the phone. There are times when i cannot answer the phone because i am busy. It annoys me that people are incapable of just leaving a voicemail. I would phone them back. I hate people who get on a bus or train before people have got off. I hate people who just grunt when i ask a simple question.

I just got my daughter a towel warmer for this problem and she loves it

the80sweregreat · 05/01/2026 05:09

I really don’t like the receptionists in my dentist surgery. I’m lucky to have the NHS dentist and I’m sure I’m treated differently! They are quite surly and miserable and I doubt they get the same treatment doctors ones do either. I can’t move surgeries as NHs dentists are gold dust ! Very much a first world problem though and only twice a year I have to go , but they really are so miserable. lol

Playingvideogames · 04/01/2026 22:39

They way in which people who should be anticipating you seem utterly surprised to see you there. Turning up for hairdresser appointments, turning up to maternity ward while in labour, walking into a shop. Every bloody time they look at you like you’ve just strolled into their living room and they have zero clue why you’re there, before asking ‘yes?’ Or ‘everything ok?’. Well, what do you think? I’m here to buy something/get my hair done/give birth.

Annoying men whose life goal is to take up more space than everyone else. Manspreading when sat on public transport, yelling into their mobiles, walking straight at you expecting you to dive out the way.

The fact my clothes only catch on door handles and I only drop things/stub my toe/trip over when I’m already angry.

Baby showers! WTAF.

I once was invited to one, but declined.

Also having to wash my face/remove makeup on my work days (I don’t wear it on my non working days) is such an effort.

Baby showers are cringe. It also seems to be a socially acceptable way of begging for presents/money.
I was invited to one by an old colleague and on the invite they were requesting money towards a car seat! I politely declined. When did it become ok to request gifts for your unborn baby.
