To be a bit stunned by Lily Allen’s new album

The main reason I detest her is because she got rid of her dog in revenge because it was a puppy and chewed passports. Obviously unsupervised by her. But what sort of person takes vengeance against a rescue dog that you can't look after properly. And the fact that she spoke about it so openly showed her psychopathic nature.

Her abortion methods and the blithe way she spoke of them also seem to indicate an incapacity for much feeling - for those many women who've lost babies or can't get pregnant for example.

She also exaggerated massively the number of people who lost their lives in the Grenfell tragedy in order to virtue signal.

No sympathy from me.

Just wanted to note - having multiple abortions isn't the same as 'abortion being your birth control' in the absence of any other method, and I don't think she ever said or implied the latter.

Yes, each to their own, personally I couldn't rely on the timing method as my periods were all over the place and I needed the reassurance of the pill ( although not entirely foolproof I know)

This is a bizarre take to be honest. I had an abortion and it destroyed me in so many ways. I would take the pain and discomfort of having a coil fitted over an abortion a million times. Abortions aren't a joke and never should be, and I am extremely pro-choice.

If only she were a novelist, she could hide it better!

I can't stand her... hate her voice, hate her music, hate her stupid lyrics, hate the way she always used to attack other women for no reason. At the same time, I am sorry for all the horrible things she's been through.

Sorry, but I don't automatically believe her side. She said some things about him during their marriage which shouldn't have been said publicly. Then she said she was only back on Raya to find him? He hasn't said a word about her, but I would be interested to hear his side, though I doubt he will ever reveal it. She's not a good person, never has been, so I am not inclined to listen to what she has to say and take it as gospel. Did he cheat? Possibly and if he did, he is an arsehole, but I don't believe she is innocent, although lots will argue she is.

This is off topic but having a coil fitted CAN be horrendous. But it gets too much of a bad press which puts women off when it might really suit them. I love not having periods.

so? You can comprehend a world where people do things against medical advice, surely? The end result is no pregnancy which was lily’s choice to make, regardless of how she got there

Not a fan, I'm afraid (I used to like a couple of her albums many years ago, though). I just cannot warm up to her at all, though.

I do however think she genuinely loved DH and seemed a lot more grounded and stable around him, so for him to be do deceitful and pull the rug from under her feet is despicable. If he wasn't happy, he shouldn't have rushed into a marriage or cheat on her, and in the manner he did too. He's a totally cancelled man for me and I used to really like him as an actor.

Taking the morning after pill which is a form of hormonal medication every month is not exactly risk free if having to do it 12 times a year is it?

Oooh I’ll give it a listen now. Lily Allen is one of those people who always shoots from the hip which means sometimes she’s really on the money and other times she says some really ill-judged crap. But she does have a really beautiful voice and has written some decent songs.
