Neighbour has put up huge Unite the Kingdom flag

UrticaDioca · 05/10/2025 15:05

I am gutted. I haven't seen a single flag in my town, and suddenly this union jack goes up two doors over with the words 'Unite the Kingdom' printed on it in capital letters. The flag is huge and flying from a pole on top of their shed, but it's in their own garden so nothing can be done.

I am the daughter of an immigrant mother and therefore mixed race. Now I have to see this fucking flag waving at me every time I look out of my kitchen or living room windows.

Despite there obviously being some knuckle draggers using this all as an excuse to indulge their violent tendencies, I'm amazed that some people apparently can't (or refuse to) recognise that we have real issues with immigration and that this is what has caused such an integral public shift.

This shift is what has allowed Reform to experience such unprecedented success and for the flaggers to get away with their antics. The mind boggles when you watch the news stories about 50-60,000 illegal immigrants forcing their way into Spanish territory over the weekend, with the death of 57 individuals. Shops having to close and the whole place basically locked down.

How people can watch this and not see we have an issue in Europe is truly confounding.

You know where that “Spanish territory” is though right?

As soon as liberal left leaning people stop getting all snooty and indignant or reaching for the smelling salts, these people will get bored and stop doing it.

I did see a hilarious meme on facebook the other day. A photo of a residential street with old mattresses and fridge freezers lined up on the pavement, all painted with a red St George's cross on them.

The caption was something like 'Don't bother driving to the tip. Get your council to remove your old household rubbish for free. Simply put it on the pavement and paint the England flag on it. It will be gone within 24 hours.' 😂

And the worse thing about that is that I suspect t's probably true. They can't manage to collect the bins or mend the pot holes or answer the phones when you need to speak to a human being about a council issue, but you just know they'd find the resources for that.

Edited

Yes yes, just ignore them and they’ll go away! Of course they will.

No thanks. I am not about to start appeasing this behaviour. Not at all. You might be happy to turn a blind eye to what is going on, and what harm is being caused to your neighbours, fellow citizens and community. I’m not.

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/08/2026 01:26

We know we have issues with immigration.
"Hard men" littering our lampposts and erecting cameras🤯 doesn't deal with immigration.

Their point is intimidation. So away you with your advocating for far right thugs and abusive men who may or may not have got to the point of actual rape.😡

Confirmed it's cock-all to do with violence against women and girls then? Just stirring up trouble and bad feeling? Sounds about right.

btw it took most of the councils who did decide to try to get rid of the racist litter a very long time and quite a lot of money - certainly didn't get cleared up over night.

You seem to be advocating for letting real rapists into this country unvetted, despite concrete evidence that they're literally sexually assaulting thousands of women and children.

Apparently it's fine because a few British blokes allegedly looked in somebody's window while up a ladder. Confused

I say 'allegedly' because unlike my examples there's no actual evidence of this happening.

Seriously? The only person advocating for sex offenders on this thread is you.

You a man @GaIadriel?

BitOutOfPractice · 31/07/2026 10:25

@PrincessOfPreschool that made me sad to read that too.

The truth of the matter is that these flag shaggers don’t care how it makes you feel. They don’t think you’re entitled to feel any way about it that differs from them. They impose their flags on all of us whether we like it or not. Then, ironically, moan and whine about any other flag (lgbtq+ for instance) because it makes them feel marginalised. Poor lambs. They give me the rage, and I’m so sorry they made your DS feel anxious.

PrincessOfPreschool · 31/07/2026 09:57

UrticaDioca · 05/10/2025 15:33

I'm not a busy body. I don't have a clue about the comings and goings of my neighbours, but it's a huge flag right in my sight line as I'm washing up or sitting eating my dinner from my kitchen table. It's unmissable.

And yes, I will adjust and get used to it. It just went up today so I'm feeling grumpy and sad about it. It has added a little dampener to the happy sanctuary that I've created here in my home.

I get that OP. I felt so uncomfortable and sad when I had to drive my son (mixed race, dad a refugee) to work through the anti immigration protests and mile long line of England flags. At least we could get away from it after the drive was over. It definitely affected DS, he's an anxious person. We did eventually get used to it and could ignore it but that involves deadening a part of yourself that can be hurt, which is sad.

And if you don't understand that Reform having led in the polls does not, factually or numerically, mean that 'most people support Reform', then I'm not sure you're actually up to this or any serious conversation, to be honest.

And Reform are no longer leading in the polls now anyway. It’s looking like their bubble might have burst.

Nobody is 'advocating for letting real rapists in', or suggesting that rape is fine because white British men behave appallingly to women and girls as well.

I'm making the point that the flaggers have shown literally no sign, at any other point, that they give a shit about the safety of women and girls, and indeed have actively compromised it. The flags do nothing to prevent any of the things they and you claim to be so upset about anyway: they merely make people of both sexes and all races feel deeply uncomfortable, in order to make a few racists feel happy.

Not sure where you're going with your Jimmy Saville comment so I'll just ignore that.

GaIadriel · 31/07/2026 04:42

Bet you think Jimmy Saville was innocent. 🤣

So its OK as long as it's not actual rape and it's done by the thugs using our flag like dog piss?

Where I live, loads. In the sense of peering in through bedroom windows while up their illegal ladders littering the lamp-posts with the tat residents don't want (there was a leaked message between them about doing exactly that).

Wow, defo sounds as bad as actual rape and physical sexual assault. Tell me more about the time hundreds of men on ladders formed a large mob and simultaneously ogled 1200 women in one evening. 🤣

I also note you seem to feel that gender ideology is bound up with all this, and that anyone who dislikes the flags is a TRA - I can assure you that's very much not the case where I'm concerned.

Eh? You're gonna have to direct me to a specific example as I have no idea what you're on about here.

How many women have the 'flaggers' publicly abused?
Where I live, loads. I'm not 'advocating for' more abuse - I just do not believe for one moment that the thugs plastering our streets with their tatty flags are motivated by protecting the rights and safety of women and girls. Nothing about their behaviour suggests they are remotely interested in that.

I think you're creating a fictional boogeyman.

The majority of the country now supports Reform. That's a LOT more people than the idiots out there protesting.

Also, you seem to be more focused on the people protesting about immigrants than the issues that actually started the protests. How many women have the 'flaggers' publicly abused?

And you've still not answered my question about how it can ever be a good idea to import even more violent men, which is inevitable when you have completely unvetted men arriving from extremely misognistic cultures. In fact you've not really addressed any of my points. It's all just vacuous virtue signalling with no real depth and regurgitating all the stuff we've heard a million times before ("but what about white rapists?").

Maybe next time somebody mentions the "two women a week" you can shut them down by mentioning that at least ten women a day are killed in Mexico. Not like that'd be whataboutery, right?

I bet you've never even been near a migrant hotel full of young men. I live in the borough with the highest number of HMOs. The hotel literally next door to my workplace is a migrant hotel (owned by the same woman who owns the land our workplace is on). As above, I also attend a site right next to another hotel where the residents (mostly ethnic) are up in arms.

I'm sure some are fine but the groups of men I see daily seem threatening and have committed documented harassment to my female colleagues over many months. This is what you're advocating for.

Just back from France and Spain - they don't do this. They weren;t even doing it during two big matches in the world cup. No idea why people trot out this line that 'other countries fly their flags with proud but in England it's some kind of crime' - it's just not true!

Icouldusetherapy · 26/07/2026 14:57

Admittedly I don’t know much about Tommy Robinson and his politics, but how can the message ‘unite the Kingdom’ be racist? I would read that as unite and overcome our differences?

I’m also an immigrant from Swedish parents. In Sweden and many other countries the flag is simply a patriotic pride, and belongs to celebrations etc. There are ‘strict’ rules as to how to handle flags (not the norm to hang it out if your window for example) and a ‘full flag’, rather than a wimpole is like I said only allowed on special days.

I think it’s such a shame that anything to do with patriotic pride is seen as racism in the UK.

Fleetheart · 26/07/2026 14:38

Leading in the polls is very different from ‘Most of the country supports Reform’, basically there are still 75% who don’t. For my part I do think we have a big problem with vetting of immigrants; there are huge cultural issues which need to be addressed. But this definitely does not mean I support Reform.

Unfortunately Reform appeal
to people’s fears without offering any real solutions. But the feeling of being understood is powerful and so people are
attracted to those grifters because of the emotional pull.

GaIadriel · 26/07/2026 01:57

backformoreofthesame · 25/07/2026 17:54

it was said that a majority supported reform

that’s not true. looks pretty neck and neck in terms of county wide support

the polls in terms of an election would be more difficult to untangle as reform have pockets of crazily strong support and many constituencies where they won’t get a look in. Add in “anything but reform “ which i suspect IS a strong majority and the outcome of an election would be hard to call so i don’t see reform getting a majority of seats either

the use of the term majority with reform is being used by some people deliberately incorrectly to try and influence people to think that they have more support than they really do as that would make them more palatable to others

They're still winning the polls whether or not you like to admit it. This stuff can be verified with a simple Google search. They've made a lot of breakthroughs so far this year.

GaIadriel · 26/07/2026 01:52

Proportionally, 40% of Reform supporters have some sort of charge or conviction for violence.

Any source for this claim? Google AI tells me it's not true and that the 40% figure is that 40% haven't reached A level qualifications.

GaIadriel · 26/07/2026 01:50

Slightyamusedandsilly · 25/07/2026 18:34

You're right. Ukrainians aren't. Most crime is committed by white British men. Proportionally, 40% of Reform supporters have some sort of charge or conviction for violence.

The problem isn't refugees.

Most crime is committed by white British men.

Yes because they're the main demographic over here. In China most crime will be committed by Chinese men. Surely you grasp this.

As above, Afghan/Eritrean men are 3x more likely to be convicted of a sex crime. And there isn't any recent instance where white British men sexually assaulted 1200 European women in one night.

People are so intent on ignoring this inconvenient fact. I've mentioned it several times now and radio silence every time. It's always the same.

Slightyamusedandsilly · 25/07/2026 18:34

GaIadriel · 25/07/2026 16:04

And that if you were in a country destroyed by war or famine you'd try to get to somewhere safe too.

I probably wouldn't rape the civilians whose taxes were paying for my asylum. Confused

I mean, why aren't Ukrainian refugees going on rape sprees?
