I don’t have a car at the moment (looking for new car) but my neighbour’s visitors have been parking on my driveway

It is definitely my driveway (has the numbers of the houses in front of the driveway).

AIBU to be annoyed?
She dosent even ask.

Its happened a few times now, if it happens again I am going to tell them to move their car.

AIBU to do this as I don’t have a car at the minute?

Whether or not you have a car is irrelevant. Someone using your premises without your permission is unacceptable. Ask your neighbour to stop, and if they or their visitors carry on, they will be trespassing. Good luck Op, but be firm.🍀

Zombie thread from 2025.

Have you lost the ability to have a normal conversation? I absolutely refuse to believe that anyone In their right mind would behave in such a bizarre way

You mean, like the right minded CF neighbours did? The type of conversation that involves no words to OP but rather words to their visitors saying “Thanks for coming to see me. Park next door. I do not want you on my own driveway.”

elozabet · 13/09/2025 09:04

If she’d asked you first and you gave permission, then yes. Any other scenerio, then no, she is a CF.

SheilaFentiman · 13/09/2025 09:01

Another one saying YANBU, so rude not to even ask!

rainbowsandraspberrygin · 12/09/2025 21:38

Please keep us updated OP. It’s very rude of them. I’d be fuming. I don’t mind helping neighbours one-off but for them just to do it without asking?! Are they friendly with you? Do you chat?

MyLittleNest · 12/09/2025 21:18

If they are this entitled, be prepared for pushback comments about you don't even have a car, etc.

Bottom line, it doesn't matter. It's your property. They didn't ask. There is no argument they can make.

I'd probably have the car towed if they do it again after telling them to stop.

BernardButlersBra · 12/09/2025 20:53

I meant no them parking

BernardButlersBra · 12/09/2025 20:53

Rude and disrespectful. It's a no from me

It’s a bit cheeky but if you don’t have a car I don’t understand why you’d want to cause friction with your neighbour? When you have a car absolutely tell them they need to move.

Perhaps the OP has visitors of her own who do have cars!

ParmaVioletTea · 12/09/2025 19:52

I don't drive so don't own a car, but I would still be annoyed by a neighbour parking on my drive. It's my piddling bit of land, not theirs!

Bridget57 · 12/09/2025 19:42

I have two spaces in front of my house and I only have one car. My neighbour who lives across the road has only one space in front of her house, her other space is round the back, she has two cars. Without asking, she started to park one of her cars in my 2nd space, so I started parking smack bang in the middle of the two spaces so there wasn't enough room to park at either side. She then did the same with the guy who lives next door to me and he immediately put a plant pot with a large tree in it in the middle of his spare parking space, no conversations/confrontations with her were needed and she soon got the message.

MayaPinion · 12/09/2025 19:28

Put your driveway on a parking app and let your neighbour know. You can send her an email like this: ‘Hi Sandra, my driveway is on xxx parking app. Your guests cannot park there anymore as it will be in regular use at unpredictable times. If they want to book it themselves here’s the website with the link’.

nomas · 12/09/2025 19:25

My neighbours are lovely so I would always say if they asked. Your neighbour is very rude for not asking. Maintain boundaries by telling them that ‘Please could you not park on my drive. If you do have an emergency, ask me.’

MyDeftDuck · 12/09/2025 19:20

CF’s! Tell them you are expecting visitors who need to park on your drive !

Itiswhysofew · 12/09/2025 19:17

How rude. Why would they even think that's ok?

Are your neighbours actually aware of this?

Moonnstars · 12/09/2025 19:14

How long have you lived there? Have you ever had a car while living there?
Yes it is cheeky and it would be polite for them to have asked - saying they noticed you didn't have a car and wondered if you wouldn't mind then using the space for visitors.

Are you always at home? When is it they are using their drive? Is it constant visitors?

Osirus · 12/09/2025 19:13

bitterexwife · 11/09/2025 15:03

I’d say “just to let you know, I’ll be getting a car soon so your visitors won’t be able to park. Here’s my number though in the meantime for you to check if my drive is free that day”.
she’s a CF.

Don’t do the second bit. Don’t offer it to them!

Antimimisti · 12/09/2025 19:12

On one-off occasions, if the neighbour asked first, I wouldn't mind. Not if they took it for granted or wanted to use it regularly.

Tesremos82 · 12/09/2025 19:12

Is it a driveway or a new build allocated parking space? If it's a proper driveway then, yes, they are being a CF.

SunnyD4ys · 12/09/2025 19:10

TheSandgroper · 11/09/2025 15:25

I would just be out with the cow shit fertiliser, fertilising my driveway. Lavishly. Regularly. Every time my neighbour was happy to have her visitor inconvenience someone else while she played lady of her manor.

Have you lost the ability to have a normal conversation? I absolutely refuse to believe that anyone In their right mind would behave in such a bizarre way

Shoulderss · 12/09/2025 19:10

Yes, a huge problem with it.
CF behaviour that shoulder be tolerated.

fudgiwee · 12/09/2025 19:08

I’m glad it’s not me being petty, I really hate it when it happens and I hate confrontations but the next time it happens I will be on knocking on her door.

I have heard her complain when workmen have parked on her drive, the cheek of it.

Without them asking id be livid , if they had asked really nicely & it wasn't a regular thing then it wouldn't upset me ... make sure you go round & say something or they will try to claim your drive ..

Hmm1234 · 12/09/2025 18:57

Rude entitled behaviour. I’d put up a fence
