Katie Price and the rift with her kids?

youreactinglikeafunmum · 10/08/2025 15:26

I think that Peter Andre treated Katie badly and now it seems like the kids have turned on her?

Shes not allowed to be on Princess' show apparently

Peter Andre is absolutely no angel, but for years and years KP has denied their marriage fell apart because of infidelity. Her recent statement is damage limitation in case he finally outs her imo.
KP is not able to care for her kids safely- Bunny once posted a video on Xmas day of her eating raw noodles while KP was passed out.
KP has prioritised shit men and substances over her children at every possible turn and cites her ‘mental health’ as the reason for this… yet made a whole documentary about having IVF to have another one.
i feel sad for her kids, particularly Princess who sees the best in her mum yet has never been her focus. She even got her birthday wrong recently on SM
I hope the kids can all heal from their experiences

Makes you wonder how she gets Harvey to do the content given she doesn’t live with him and it’s not like he’ll be able to do it out of his own volition.

Fair points but Pete got custody when she was twelve. A private tutor to do interventions with has the potential to fill gaps. She must have attended at key stage 1/2 or Children's Services would have been involved much earlier. She was removed in year 7/8.
She won't be the first or last to attend public school and not be academic. But you are bang on when you say ACE affect outcomes - they do - and £ cannot always cushion it. There are, however, many who are resilient/have the smarts to achieve in spite of their formative years.

NellitheNelephant · 17/08/2025 14:24

By the way, when I say she doesn't seem to have cleaned up her act, I don't mean that she's still using, just that she doesn't seem to have sorted a new life for herself in the way that addicts have to when they put the addiction behind them.

HotDogKetchup · 17/08/2025 14:23

She is so lucky that her daughter hasn't given up on her despite everything.

Ive thought that. She has been a dreadful mother and put her children through real trauma, it’s ok blaming other people but she’s repeatedly put herself and her children into those situations knowing how it’s played out before. I don’t care for her trauma tbh, when you’re a parent you have to prioritise your children, trauma is no excuse for causing trauma IMO. She is really lucky Princess is still in contact and so positive about her. Her kids would be well within their rights to walk away and leave her to it.

Hungryhippa · 17/08/2025 14:22

I always thought she was making the best of a bad situation however the animal stuff gives me sympathy. Its sheer neglect and bad attitude

I lived locally to her at one point and it's a miracle more of them weren't killed on the road. 6 dogs and horses dieing on the road is inexcusable, and they were always getting out so it was inevitable

If we had multiple family pets dying in the same way, animals being crushed in the house, and animals dying in vague circumstances then I'd struggle to look at my mum the same way!

What is Kp an addict of?

she was convicted of driving with cocaine in her system

Well Harvey is 100% being pimped out as he cant consent at all. And yet she is there now flogging him on Cameo for thirty odd quid a time. He wont see any of that money, and she has allegedly already spent the trust fund that Dwight set up for Harvey.

Makes you wonder how she gets Harvey to do the content given she doesn’t live with him and it’s not like he’ll be able to do it out of his own volition.

Yeah, just read it - I have a lot of time for Simon, he's an excellent journalist and it is clear here that he has pulled any instincts to delve deeper, as he can see her vulnerability.
It is also clear that she does care about her mum, still loves her despite everything and does not want to bad mouth her. Trauma bonded or not, or just able to see the trauma in her mum, she isn't drawn on anything and her manager is protective/shrewd throughout.
It is a shame that despite a private education, she only ended up with three GCSEs and not in the core subjects, but if she can make money via makeup promotion then she should accrue as much as she can now and invest it wisely.
Comments are off - again, a good way to protect her. Eighteen or not, she is still vulnerable in my eyes and deserves a break.

When I read the article it was no surprise to me that Princess did not do well in her GCSEs. She might put a brave face on things and her dad and Emily tried to provide a stable environment for her, but the damage was done. Very few people would be able to achieve academically after what she has been through. She might have a potential to do better. We don't know.

We all think that having money and going to the best schools protects you from the effects of neglect and (what amounts to) abuse, but it doesn't. Many of us know what addicts get up to. The Mucky Mansion is a typical druggie den. Princess' protectiveness may be a form of denial. If she owned what really went on she might thrown into the pits of despair. This is why she isn't ready to speak to a counsellor yet. As she gets older she may find it a necessity to do so or - God forbid - risk acting out herself.

Peter Andre's instinct to protect his kids and not put all of addict KP's antics in the public domain is the right one. He is not a saint, but his attempts to parent his children is exemplary and many men could take a leaf out of his book.

The misogyny on this thread is next level!! Whatever mistakes she has made, you’ve got to admire the way KP made a fortune exploiting what she had when clearly she did not come from as privileged or educated background as most of her critics. The woman needs help and I feel increasingly sorry for her tbh. I also think whoever has advised Princess to go into the reality / influencer world is thinking more about their own advantage than the girl’s wellbeing. She seems like a sweet kid and I hope she’s ok.

edited to add: the production company are very happy to use the publicity that goes alongside anything to do with Katie Price. Let’s face it, she’s a very attractive girl but viewers are mainly interested because iof who her mother is. A programme about one of Andre’s kids with the new wife would have very few people interested I’m sure.

Edited

No, I don't admire the way she made her fortune. I never thought she was the great businesswoman everyone said she was. She was offered lucrative deals and said yes to everything.

The money used to be there for the taking. I remember reading once that winners of Love Island etc used to be able to become millionaires months after finding overnight fame because the photoshoots were so lucrative. Less so now, I understand.

I don't admire someone who had a fortune and blew it. I read that she would get paid hundreds of thousands from photoshoots and just piss it away within days, weeks months. That is not admirable.

Why should we women admire someone who panders to awful male fantasies despite claiming to being a victim of them?

Having said all that, I do sympathise with her because she is an addict and an addict's life is wretched. She is so lucky that her daughter hasn't given up on her despite everything. So many addicts lose the respect and love of their families. She should be content with that, stay out of the public eye for a while and do something else. Her time as a glamour girl is over. She could parlay her experience into management of young reality stars or something. If she could get it together and really clean up her act (it sounds as though she hasn't quite got there yet) she could have an agency to rival Claire Powell's She and Kerry Katona have a lot of experience between them. And it would be great if they retired out of the public eye.

We don't do the cause of feminism any favours by pretending that all women are perfect and never lie or do anything wrong.

So we go completely opposite. Venomous, nasty mother blaming?
Okaaaay....

Katie is also on record as saying Junior refused to stay there due to the mess. She seemed to think that a badge of honour.

How do you know what she "seemed to think"?
Physic?

Ratafia · 17/08/2025 13:10

Gemmawemma9 · 10/08/2025 16:57

The venom on here is gross, I’m honestly disgusted. We get enough comments like this from men without women turning on each other.

The "scary" part could have referred to the fact that Katie is on record as saying numerous times that she believed the house was haunted. I think Jett used to sleep in a tent in the hall as he was scared upstairs. Certainly, the dark windows and wood everywhere could have added to a brooding atmosphere, particularly in winter in the dark.

Well the "maybe my house is haunted" thing might also be a massive displacement exercise to explain away desperately unhappy home circumstances as Evidence of an ghostie👻 but yes

"No. It was a really scary house. A lot went on there. So I didn’t really like it.” Again, she doesn’t go into details. “I guess when you have bad experiences somewhere you don’t like the place.”

It will have been the memories of what she was exposed to there (chaos, mess, broken things, arguments, drama, paraphernalia) more than the supernatural. That's a bit of a stretch.

StrictlySequinsandStiIettos · 17/08/2025 12:48

Simon won't have chosen that headline, someone else will as clickbait. Princess was very careful in what she said. It's what she doesn't say. It's a bit naughty of the editor because she will hate that headline, even though it's the truth. I hope she does well in her life.

Thechickenisburning · 17/08/2025 12:47

She seems like a very lovely, well adjusted girl and I feel so sorry for her and Junior imagining what they’ve been through. She still does seem protective of her mum, which is understandable, it’s her mum, she’s so young and I hope she’ll be ok in this business. If I was her parent I wouldn’t want her being in the limelight in any way whatsoever

Yes @LuckysDadsHat and at her age, only just 18, saying her Mum’s house was “scary” really raises alarm bells about what exactly went on. I think she’s being very diplomatic indeed.

I read this earlier and the below part just made me really sad. She seems so desperate to keep the peace with her mum and knows KP would kick off on the phone. Typical narc behaviour from KP, and typical response to narc behaviour from Princess who has learnt how to deal with her mum over the years.
Ah, but this time it isn’t the media twisting the knife, Giddings says. “It was your mum that put that story out there.”“Yeah,” Andre says, searching for a diplomatic response. “Which is … interesting.”“That was Kate that said all of that about her and her family not being invited,” Giddings continues. Why don’t you just ring your mum and ask her what she is playing at, I suggest. No, she says, it’s not worth it. “Mum can be annoyed about something and then we send each other a message and we’re fine.”

dredsa · 17/08/2025 11:48

I woke up at 5am restless (menopause) and read this thread. Went back to sleep and had the weirdest dream that Emily A was being awful to me, really bitchy. I have no doubt that she’s a lovely lady, always seems very sweet and classy compared to KP, so no clue why my dream took me there!

It’s not an informed choice at 18. Adults don’t fully develop their judgement centres in their brains until they’re 25. She is an adult legally but as responsible parents they might realise she is a young adult and therefore may benefit from some protection from over exposure. FWIW this is also why I have a problem with PA marrying EA when she was so young!

Utter tosh
I made some brilliant decisions at 17-22 years old and some crazy ones when I was a lot older.
What would the world come to if we all waited until we’re in our mid 20s to decide stuff - haha!!
