Katie Price and the rift with her kids?

I am tired of trauma being used as an excuse to justify toxic behaviour. Plenty of people have experienced trauma and adversity but do not go on to cause harm and chaos to others.

KP was in a very fortunate position of making a lot of money, she could afford to access private therapy for trauma which is a privilege unavailable to most. I seem to recall her getting DBT but she doesn’t seem to have stuck to it. She comes across as erratic with desperately low self esteem, it must be very difficult having her as a parent and I don’t blame her children for distancing themselves. A tragic situation all round.

You can dislike Katie Price all you want, and there are many reasons to, but there are several points that cannot be disputed:

• Peter Andre is a raging has been narcissist who is now exploiting his kids in a way that Katie would have been vilified for.
• We believe women. It is obvious to anyone that Katie Price has had horrific experiences and to diminish them or call them liars is a shit.
• That doesnt excuse things but it is a reason and KP needs to seek help.
• She may not have got it right but prociding support to Harvey is not wrong and is a slap in the face to carers to suggest otherwise.
• His manager Claire (or Carby Claire as she used to be called on MN) is living in 2004 with an outdated show like this and is a shit manager.

I think that both of them are less than ideal parents, and this whole concept of monetising your life, which has now become Princess's "career" option, is a bit grim. I wonder if his kids with Emily will be encouraged to go down the same route or if they will have a different focus such as education and qualifications. What exactly is Princess going to be doing? Promoting make up brands and mid range clothing I guess and then a stint on Love Island?

Didn't know she was on OF. Hoped that was just her mum. She is pretty enough to do modelling, not runway but for campaigns like Next/M+S/Superdrug.
Must be hard to be a nepo baby and to find her own way. You either follow your parents' path to "fame" or you do a new career entirely. Roman Kemp has done well for himself.
Simon Collins/Eliot Sumner have done well on their own terms. Jamie Lee-Curtis, Lily Collins are now famous in their own right.

So CAN associates stayed loyal to Pete in the split and now have Princess under contract.
It is fair enough to keep Katie out of it. Her press has been awful of late and she is prone to extremes. Allegedly, she was asked to Princess's party but was abroad/a no-show. As to a rift, all she needs to do as a mum is to see her daughter privately without contacting the press, putting it on socials or making a song and dance out of it.
Otherwise she is going to become the erratic, unpredictable, embarrassing relative to be avoided at all costs. And I do think Princess herself irl still loves both of her parents.

I'd have liked to have seen her on Strictly, but guess with Pete having already done it, he wanted to protect her.

Katies life hasn’t been easy and she obviously has a lot of demons and having ADHD you can’t process those feelings very easy and they come out in behaviours .

An adult with the multiple and complex needs Harvey has is not being "shunted" in to to 24/7 care. 24/7 care is very usual and appropriate for a family with resources or ability to advocate for their child.

We'll have to agree to disagree. She was massively exploited as a teenager, and I don't doubt that awful things happened to her then and in later life. But I do think she'd say anything to mitigate her awful later behaviour, especially to avoid jail. I can hold both of those things to be true.

A quick Google shows she claims to have been raped on at least 3 occasions. The story about when she was a child varies as does the one in 2018. Its understandable people question them.

Also read not long ago that KP wasn't invited to Princess 18th or some important day like that. She pointed out that she felt excluded so this documentary they are doing is just one of many instances where's she's being excluded as the other parent. Not clear if that's what princess wants. Even if she said she doesn't want her there I'm not sure I believe it. A narcissists control is strong and it's extremely difficult to disentangle from that as such a young person.

I don't know if princess is able to fund herself yet, but if she relies on her dad for money she will know 'whats expected'.

For the hard of comprehension, I do not think she has lied about having been raped during her lifetime. I believe she has been. I do not think the gang rape at 7 in a park happened. So not lying about rape per se, just that incident.

Peter Andre was emotionally abusive and then manipulative as fuck afterwards.

I really hope the kids can all come through the chaos of their upbringing.
