This is a very good point. He defines his parenting and personality in terms of hers, so it doesn't need to be great, just better than hers which is a low bar. He doesn't actually do anything great, does monetise the kids, albeit less, and comes over as a bit of a shit. But in his mind as long as he seems better than her, he's doing well.

Just because he introduced them doesn't mean he was expecting him to DATE her!

I've arranged for my young adult DDs to meet with friends of friends for things like career advice, work experience & training for sports/ hobbies, not once was that an indication of my approval for them to try n fuck my kid!

It's not that odd a thing to do. We probably all do it in smaller ways (we might not have celeb friends that our kids want to meet, but we all pull favours for things like apprenticeships, summer jobs etc)

I have friends with kids who are well into adulthood, but kids of friends are still and always kids of friends, it doesn't matter if they turn legal! I have even put them up favours e.g. one was considering my local uni for clearing, another had a summer job nearer to me than home and stayed over if he had a late shift followed by an early shift.

Zero of these arrangements or meetings were the parents setting us up!

And I really don't think there's a whole lot of difference between that, and a celeb meet n greet if the kid is into a celeb you know

I remember thinking she was a really stunning girl way back when she was dating one of the gladiators at the time, which was how I got to first know of her as I occasionally watched the program.

But I think notions of pretty have changed to a degree.

Agree- mildly attractive at best. Her nose job was good- she should have stopped there.Junior and Princess resemble their father, especially the eyes.

She's been done for drink driving multiple times : that alludes to a drink problem. Partners of problem drinkers do tend to "go on" about not liking their drinking. I don't think thats a fair point of contention.

I was huge fans of both Katie and Peter back in the day. I remember watching their show and to be honest looking back on it now they are both as bad as each other. I remember Pete moaning that he didn't like Katie drinking or the clothes she wore and on and on it went. He wanted her to dress more middle class and act like a stepford wife. I remember thinking why did you marry her to just try and change everything about her. Then Peter had his own show after the split where him and his brothers constantly went on about the massive big thing Katie done to end their marriage but of course they weren't allowed to talk about it. 9999 billion times he repeatedly said how much he loves his kids. I don't think it was even a week after the split that she had a new man and had jetted off on holiday.

Honestly the both of them are an embarrassing car crash.

With the best will in the world not everyone os cut out for university and there's nothing wrong with that.

Can we stop this nonsense of calling men "creeps" who date very much adult women (which a 20yr old Is) he was a good looking older man- you can see why she found him attractive. He's caused her no obvious harm has he ? They're long term married with 3 children of their own. She's a doctor - hardly some vulnerable waif and stray.

And whilst we're at it : her father was a surgeon. Peter was going in for some kind of orthopedic surgery. Surgeons daughter (Emily ) had a crush on him and asked her father to introduce them. Which he happily did. The rest is history.

Don't make innocent men out to be perverts where they are not. It minimises vulnerable teens etc that are groomed for nefarious reasons by much older men.

But I'm sure Emily will get tutors, make sure homework is done and other stuff PA and KP wouldn't have bothered with. Give them a fighting chance.
