Michael Jackson was a paedophile. Why does the local school choose one of his songs for the kids to perform to?

I also have a friend whose little boy has learnt all his moves and she puts MJ on for him to dance to.

I don’t understand, hearing his music makes me feel sick.

The courts did not find him innocent. I have been raped and sexually abused. Neither would stand up in court because there’s not enough evidence, like 95% of cases.
please stop saying people are innocent when they just don’t have enough proof and also this particular paedo happened to be incredibly rich and would have had the best lawyers in the fucking land

And the money to make it all go away.

His music isn't particularly good anyway.

Very little pop music is.

Yes, it’s shit 😂

You don't know he was paedophile, the courts found him innocent. He was a very rich man and its not stretch to think some skanky parents thought they could make a buck by falsely accusing him. Aside from any of that he was hugely talented and his music is timeless.

I don’t think a lot of checks need to be made for this one. Everyone knows

I totally agree with you and I can't understand why so many people are defending the indefensible here.

Im actually shocked at the ampunt of people on here, people who have kids, that are defending a clear pedophile.

So if michael jackson was still alive you'd let ur child be alone with him, sleeping in his bed, in a room where they found numerous sex toys? Give over.

There are NUMEROUS allegations. Its very difficult to prosecute in these cases. The victims are children, going up against a very rich man.

I was abused as a child, it was in years watching the never land documentary because I felt every emotion of those victims. How people can say they were ALL false is so naive.

My dad is a convicted pedophile, a very wealthy one at that. A child came out 20 years ago with allegations, and it got thrown out of court because the child was distressed and confused on the stand. He got let out. 20 years later hes now in prison for further sexual abuse on a different child. Not getting a conviction means absolutely nothing when its a child going up against an adult. A very distressed child at that.

Stop being so naive. The man was a clear pedophile that molested numerous little boys, paid off their parents, groomed them, and then disposed of them when they hit puberty. Hiding behind a false character of a stupid put on child like voice, and claiming he loves being around children because hes also child like to pull the wool over everyones eyes. He knew exactly what he was doing.

Agreed it was within plain sight people tying themselves in knots trying to justify his behaviour is ridiculous
I'm.hlsd your father finally got convicted.

dontcomeatme · 05/07/2025 08:37

Was it proved he was a paedophile? I didn't think it was x

Nope, it wasn’t. Because his legal team paid the victims families big bucks to withdraw their cases. And, with those families, you are already talking about ones who give their young kids to a stranger with the thought they may get something out of it in the first place. So, essentially, victims whose family would be willing to be paid off if need be.

Fucked if I know why they have his music in schools, or anywhere really.

No, ephebophilia is different to pedophilia.

16 is the legal age for sexual activity, even marriage in some cultures.

I'm not saying it is good, but different.

Not sure that ‘I’m an ephebophile not a paedophile’ would wash with the pitchfork mob.

John Lennon was also a wife beater.

But I don’t care because I separate the art from the artist in all circumstances.

I thought in 2025. We finally got to the stage where sexual assaults were taking seriously without assuming the victim is a money grabber.

I would bet my life that false accusations are minimal.

I was a young child when Mike Tyson was accused, hearing adults call her a money grabber. I knew that was very wrong as a child.

I note you used skanky? Is this a reference to poverty?

I find it more baffling when people think he was innocent. To me it makes no difference he wasn't convicted. The evidence and the documentary was enough for me. He was a pedophile.

Hard agree, I was convinced he was a paedophile before the documentary came out.

Grown men do not seek out young boys to share a bed with for innocent reasons. It's just so obvious that he was grooming and abusing them. I can't believe anyone thinks this was innocent.

And to anyone saying we have to separate the artist from the art, no we do not have to. I hate hearing his music playing now, my immediate reaction to it is to think of the innocent young boys he hurt, I can't just turn that off.

He met every bullet point that identifies a paedophile.
EVERY.

Making her child dance to like a puppet you mean?
FFS get a grip, MJ music is going to stick around because so many people like it,
myself included.
There will be people who don't like it because of the so called connection but they are entitled to their own opinion like everyone else.

Beeinalily · 05/07/2025 10:53

I don't think he was. I think he had some serious mental health problems, but I don't think that was one of them, but we'll never know. Nevertheless, his music was perfect for kids to dance to.

itsgettingweird · 05/07/2025 10:52

My first thought was it was never proven too. So I’m glad to see others think the same.

As for using his music I do think people separate the artist from the person - especially since most young children won’t have known who he was - just his music.

Both would be classed as ‘paedos’.

He made children under the age of ten share a bed with him.

He was a paedophile.

Tbh by then like a lot of people he will already be positively bonded to MJs music and if he later hears of the suspicions about him I don’t think it will scar him especially as he was never formally convicted of anything (which yes regardless of hearsay matters to a lot of people). And that is enough for many people in the world to continue enjoying his musical legacy. I’m not sure what being vindictive and shocked about his music being played by others will achieve now the man is gone. You’ll forever be fighting a losing battle and just appearing odd for holding onto such ‘concerns’. Keep the focus on teaching your kids of the current real dangers of the world as they are now!

Iamtarticus · 05/07/2025 10:44

Jimmy Saville was never convicted, doesn’t make him innocent

PinkSwatch · 05/07/2025 10:42

Whilst I see where you coming from, and I do agree with you to an extent, where do you draw the line? So, stop listening to any of MJ's music. Stop listening to any songs that sampled his music. Stop watching anything made by the Weinstein company, or anything they were associated with. Stop listening to Diddy's music. Stop listening to any artist that was associated with Diddy or signed to his label, or sampled his music. Stop watching anything made by Roman Polanski or Woody Allen. Stop reading or watching anything by Neil Gaiman. Stop watching anything written or directed by Joss Whedon. Stop watching anything with Johnny Depp in. Stop watching anything with Brad Pitt in. Stop watching anything with Casey Affleck in.

The list is frickin endless, you can't possibly keep track of ALL the famous people who have raped and assaulted people (mostly women and children). You'd end up not watching any media or listening to any music.

Throwitawayagain · 05/07/2025 10:42

Because people will twist themselves in knots creating a narrative that suits them, rather than accepting the truth.
Of course he was a predatory pedophile, who targeted prepubescent boys who were vulnerable due to family ambition. The sort of people who encourage their child to share a bed with an unrelated man are the sane sort of people who promote nonsense about Jackson being a sweet, innocent asexual manchild.
