He can't actually do a thing about it, he just tries to scare those he can into paying up. They do not provide the service that they claim to.

Its not likely going to happen. They would have to send first a formal Letter Before Claim or County Court Business Centre claim form. Then apply to court or MCOL and attend a mediation appointment and then get a court date and so on and so forth.

This is not correct. For debt collectors to be sent it has to be a CCJ etc., which is a process of at least 3 steps. There would need to be - a formal Letter Before Claim or County Court Business Centre claim form first. Also the MCOL or court etc is sending both parties to mediation first theres no way that company are going to do this.

The ASA has now ruled twice that Team RH’s “£7.99 per month” adverts were misleading because they did not make the 12-month contract clear. The latest ruling was in August 2025: https://www.asa.org.uk/rulings/team-rh-fitness-ltd.html

If you’ve been caught out, call Citizens Advice Customer Line and ask them to pass your case to Trading Standards. The more people who report, the more seriously it’s will be treated. Of course ask them first advice given the rulings and that they still don’t appear to be making it blatantly obvious despite these rulings.

When you call, it helps to explain things like:
• That you didn’t realise it was a 12-month contract until too late
• What happened when you tried to cancel
• If you’ve had worrying or pressuring emails

The fact the ASA has ruled against them twice shows they don’t care and are still relying on the same tactics. If enough people share their experiences, Trading Standards can take enforcement action. You never know, it could mean contracts being cancelled or even refunds ordered.

Yep. Each search uses the equivalent of a lightbulb being lit for 17 seconds. Those add up. The amount google searches use daily globally is the equivalent to the power used by 30,000 homes. “Google it” for this kind of basic information is bad advice.

Googling uses energy. Better to post on the thread than have several folk googling.

I've had dealings with him before and he's very aggressive and nasty. Not sure if it's changed as this was years ago but basically charged people for a service then told you to use myfitnesspal 🙄

@Freyagillian you don’t actually sign into a credit agreement, he signs people up to an app and subscription service that they don’t actually provide properly.

Many have cancelled because they realised they aren’t getting what they paid for: the app is rubbish, the coaching is very much on their terms and they kick people out of the groups if you have constructive feedback or questions.

Please google Team RH cancellations or similar plus reddit/tattle/money saving expert have threads many have been threatened with legal action but to my knowledge no one ever has been taken to court.

Your approach to googling has no effect on my level of happiness, it does seem a restriction to acquiring knowledge to me though

I got confused in the OP as I thought DD meant your daughter, but you mean direct debit. You will need to properly cancel and I assume you’ll be charged a fee. Asking for proof of your financial status is intrusive but I would send it to make things easier.

My dad also cancels direct debits assuming that means the service will just stop. But nowadays that’s not how things work and you need to do tedious cancellation processes. Used to be much simpler
