Do you hate running and want to be mercilessly bullied into it? Cod's couch to 5k

If so I am your woman!
You might remember me from other successes as ' Potty training boot camp with Cod' and ' the Horned Hoofers". But now, in a Moment of Madness, I decided to do 5k, my reasoning being that all sorts if idiots can run, so so can I.
I finished it a week ahead ( GET ME) and now after not wanting to run, ever, and being unable to do 5 minutes, I can run for 35 without stopping

What is in it for you?
You will do couch to 5k in the 9 weeks and no slacking
I will bully you

Result
You will end up loving running as much as I do now. Its free, its quickly over (!) and its transportable.
If I can, you can.

What do you need?
Trainers
A sports bra
Music if that is your thing
The Couch to 5k app
Its even better if you have a smart watch ( can plot the incredible change to for eg your heart)

What I can't allow for
Lazy fuckers who don't STICK TO THE PROGRAMME
anyone with health issues - soz, am not a doctor, not interested in your wonky knee..

We start NOW

You know what cod? I may wholeheartedly regret this, but I'm in.

Have a treadmill, currently under a pile of shite in the garage, and got to week 6 last year sometime then went on holiday and never restarted because I'm fickle and have no willpower.

Thank you Grin yes, it wasn't pleasant! That one may have had some bearing on not restarting!

LeahCariad · 23/10/2026 18:05

I may live to regret this, but go on, I'll do it as a 50+ menopausal fat ass.

I also need to pack in the fags so taking out my frustration out on a very slow, ungainly run might help.

ClashCityRocker · 23/10/2026 18:09

Go on then. I've done week one about eight times before I get distracted and let it all slip. It would be good to have some, ahem, accountability!

Thecows · 23/10/2026 18:12

I'll join, I really need some inspiration and I've been here almost as long as you cod so figure I'm probably similar age so will probably be hard for all of us?!

Ronaldos · 23/10/2026 18:13

I'm in

MyOtherCarIsALandrover · 23/10/2026 18:15

Im going to massively regret this but I'm in 🙈.

Piggypiggyoinkoink · 23/10/2026 18:16

Better to try and fail than not try at all.

I’m sure they’re someone’s last words. Won’t be mine, mine will be “I’m in, what could possibly go wrong?”

I am 55, they will have to prise the HRT from my cold dead hands, and I have recently started doing some exercise after decades of, well, not.

When does the torture wonderful opportunity start?

TragicTess · 23/10/2026 18:18

Does anyone think this will good for my dodgy hip?

SkyBlueAndTired · 23/10/2026 18:18

Me too.

shalalalalalalalala · 23/10/2026 18:19

I’m in

Menonut · 23/10/2026 18:22

I was just saying to my husband yesterday that I need to start again.
not today though as I’ve just got back from the hairdresser and I’m not ruining by getting hot and sweaty after I’ve spent a fortune! 😂

Tomorrow?

ramonaquimby · 23/10/2026 18:22

I'd love to run.
buggered up my knees by being a runner for 25 years.
envious of all of you!

hmmmwhattoeat · 23/10/2026 18:57

Oh why not! Count me in, though if you somehow make me like running you will be an absolute miracle worker! Lol

TootUnCarMoon · 23/10/2026 19:03

I want to do it too! People think I already run, I don’t, I just have poor time management and rush everywhere but I want to like running as I hate it at the moment.

iCod · 23/10/2026 19:05

Oh you a lot, this has made me laugh so much I'm so excited!

in my experience it got to about week five of the nine week program when I suddenly realised I was anticipating a good run. Previously this would've been a horror

Okay, could anyone give a reason why they're not starting tomorrow?

LetsTalkAboutSocks · 23/10/2026 19:09

I'm stuck on week 6 and keep getting soaked. I'm fitter except for the hypothermia.

BecauseofyouIlearntnottotrust · 23/10/2026 19:15

I run three times a week. Been running on and off since 2018. Brilliant for my mental health.
I’m just popping in to cheer everyone on 😀
