I may actually try and go to this if I am feeling brave.

I'm going. Do you think we need protection from the Edinburgh ATH?

I really want to go but I am scared of violence / being plastered all over social media asa TERF. I really really don't like conflict.

Glasgow is my closest city but still a 3 hours train ride or about 2 hours drive through the hills for me. I'd come otherwise.

I’ve got a work event pencilled in, but if I can get out of it, I’d like to go to this too. Maybe we could meet up beforehand and go in together?

No idea if I am brave enough to go to that; I feel like I ought to, though.

How has it got to the stage where women are too scared to go to a meeting?

The only way to stand up to thugs is to refuse to be intimidated. The numbers of transcult thugs are actually tiny even if there are a load of armchair activists ready to cheer them on. The bigger the meeting is the less danger there is of there being any trouble. But it would be a good idea to have some burly stewards.

Article 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights protects the right to freedom of peaceful and legal assembly and association. The law is on our side until the UK triggers Brexit.

I think I'm going to go to this.

DJ that at least won’t change with Brexit (not sure some of the Brexiteers know). It’s a completely different agreement under the European Court for human rights.

We do need to keep a close eye though to make sure these rights are maintained during the Brexit changes (slip though legislation while everyone’s worried about Brexit negotiations) and afterwards.

Yes, just looking at my twitter feed and the comments against Janice Turner by men - I am going to go too.

There was a fantastic point made by JT that there would be an inquiry if this increase in referrals (to gender identity clinics) was happening with any other medical issue. I fully 100% get the issues of growing up female in this toxic society, particularly if you are not a girlie girl, but I do not see how binders, hormones and surgery are the way to go.

I am so angry at the liberal, lefty, enlightened men putting down women’s concerns.

There's not many people there

They had to move venue at the last minute so I expect people were still arriving if it was anything like the Speakers Corner meeting point situation and they didn't show the audience apart from at the beginning.

I've seen the Q & A session as well which was streamed on Facebook Live and it looked like there were more people then.

Tbh I'm quite scared to go on my own which is fecking ridiculous for a 50 year old woman so a meet up could be a good idea.

I've been brave and bought my ticket - I'm hoping wherever the location turns out to be isn't too hard to get to!

Just bought a ticket too, and would love to meet up beforehand.

It's expensive being a woman today: this ticket, donation to transgendertrend and a subscription to the Times. Smile
