Oh I know he's right wing and it's Fox News but it's hilarious

Mercy when I saw it my jaw dropped to the floor!

Bambambini · 25/02/2017 17:57

Ha, i was thinking of posting this somehere - saw it earlier.

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 25/02/2017 18:09

I love this and then hate myself because it's Fox News 😂

chanceofrain · 25/02/2017 18:16

He had Kara Dansky from Women's Liberation Front on recently, and basically made her arguments to this guy (in the clip). I feel more comfortable loving this clip (which I do) if I can credit Dansky with destroying the trans ideology, instead of that tool Carlson. Grin

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 25/02/2017 18:17

Chance Ohhh thanks, you've eased my conscience enormously! Smile

WhisperedLoudest · 25/02/2017 18:18

Pains me to say it but that was brilliant.

Finola1step · 25/02/2017 18:29

It is Fox. I shouldn't agree with him. I really, really shouldn't. But I do.

GunnyHighway · 25/02/2017 18:34

I guess the enemy of your enemy is your friend.

ToffeePenny · 25/02/2017 18:52

Thanks for posting OP

MercyMyJewels · 25/02/2017 19:02

Fuck off Gunny and try posting something constructive

I read Gunny's post as recognising that we are all lined up with people we wouldn't usually want to be seen with on this issue. An evangelical Christian acquaintance who usual posts stuff I hate against gay marriage is currently posting gender critical stuff. My usual allies are all attacking him. I'm struggling to defend him because of his history of offensiveness, but this time he is right. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. This time. For a little while, on this one issue.

picklemepopcorn · 25/02/2017 19:16

Actually I couldn't get more than halfway through the video because the host annoyed me so much with his abrasive rude style. He may have ended up making a good argument, but lost me before he got there.

Oh fgs it was just a comment on the absurd situation we sometimes find ourselves in on single issues. A few years ago Anne Widdecombe was temporarily a hero of mine for protesting about the export of live calves for veal. She still speaks out on animal welfare issues, I doubt there is much else we agree on.

almondpudding · 25/02/2017 19:32

Perhaps we should stop seeing people as enemies and allies. That seems to be a large part of current political problems.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 25/02/2017 19:44

He presented a good case. He set several trip wires which the other bloke walked right into.

Bambambini · 25/02/2017 19:50

I had no problem watching it. Nice change seeing a face to face one to one where you can't block or just yell bigot or call in your mates for support.

MercyMyJewels · 25/02/2017 19:50

No that statement has a lot of history. Particularly re Middle Eastern politics. It's a major criticism of US politics

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 25/02/2017 19:56

Yes it has a lot of history .

The enemy of my enemy is my friend is an ancient proverb which suggests that two opposing parties can or should work together against a common enemy. The earliest known expression of this concept is found in a Sanskrit treatise on statecraft dating to around the 4th century BC, while the first recorded use of the current English version came in 1884

It is also the title of a novel by Kingsley Amis.

Please read this newest insight, parents could have their children taken away from them if they don't jump up and down with glee and have their kids transitioned - at least that is how I read it?

“Reportable trauma”? US gender docs “train” judges & call CPS on balking parents

4thwavenow.com/2017/02/25/reportable-trauma-us-gender-docs-train-judges-call-cps-on-balking-parents/

"OLSON-KENNEDY: I can say that the stickiest situations I’ve had is where one parent is supportive and one isn’t and they share medical custody. And so we work really hard to bring both parents in and bring them both on board. Because even if you get a court order, the most protective factor for a good outcome is parental support. So it’s not my first line to go to court to get somebody what they need. But it is my second line and I will do it. We’ve been pretty successful in 5 or 6 situations where…we really had a recalcitrant parent that we just could not bring along."

Lessthanaballpark · 25/02/2017 20:18

More like The enemy of my enemy is not my friend but might come in handy sometimes Grin

MercyMyJewels · 25/02/2017 20:23

No worries. It's just the monkeyback jumpers with nothing to contribute

And what bambambini said.

So tired of the fuckers not engaging, just threatening to rape or set you on fire.

Bambambini · 25/02/2017 22:27

It'sites like Everydaytransactivism and FB feminist groups which just delete any posts which questions the only permitted narrative. Then your left with long comments sections just shouting "Bigot" Transphobe" "throw the terfs out" "you're not a feminist because you don't agree with me!"

I always picture it done in the style of Father Jack "Bigot, Cunt, Terf!" With a wee bit of frothy spit flying free.
