I wanted to reply to @EachandEveryone but thread number 6 is full! That cooling mat thing looks fab.

What is everyone's cat up to today?

Today I am 26 weeks pregnant and my cat Freya is communing with the baby. Mainly purring and gentle pawing in response to little kicks. I am hoping they'll be friends! Meanwhile Maisie is looking on disdainfully. She's in the huff because I tipped her out of the pregnancy dungarees, which she had commandeered as her personal nest.

What are your furry overlords all up to?

Thanks for reviving the thread caoraich. It's the best bit of mumsnet Grin
Kittens are now spending a large amount of time outside; Sybil is still very grumpy (really feeling quite sorry for her); Basil is on great form, loving the heat and finding all sorts of places to sleep outside.

Today I have been well and truly 'loved' by Flick!

Ours is disgruntled. Due to wound on his ear from a fight (which he most likely started) I can't let him go walkabout.
He has batted some Lego people about and knocked over a kitchen chair whilst meowing at me.

Today ours hate us, as they had to have a trip to the scary place that smells funny to be stabbed with sharp things. My other half also managed to unceremoniously dump them in their cat carriers without the usual game of 'hide and seek' because they weren't expecting it Grin

Yesterday they 'gifted' me with 5 (yes, 5) semi dead butterflies in the space of an hour - so pissed if I can deal with 😂

Apparently judging by his face sneezing is illegal.

The kttens are relaxing on the card table this morning - the eagle eyed will notice that a succession of cats over the years have completely wrecked the baize...

Madam has been out in the garden for a spot of murdering as usual, and left a couple of piles of mouse intestines, two bird’s feet and a beak on the kitchen floor. Lovely.

Sev, after waking me up at dawn for food and a cuddle, is asleep again. He went from the sofa via my desk to the top of the Kallax where he will stay for an hour or so until he moves on to the top of the wardrobe where he will stay till four when it is time for food.

I'm being a cheat, little cat went recently so I'm using old photos. But this is her just before I left the room for a few minutes and she got stuck on the sill outside, and rescued by hunky builders with a ladder (the little flirt enjoyed that)

New regime for the last three days in our house..OH is working days now. I haven't put Ernie's food timer on as I thought he wouldn't need it.

First day he raced downstairs at 4am when OH got up..then has gone out and not come back when he went to work so has been waiting on the patio for when I got up...eventually around 9ish 10.30

This morning he was waiting outside OH's door, he must of heard the alarm Grin

We have several piles of feathers outside...not sure if they were Ern's doing

Take care Lobster Flowers.

It's good to have more regular Ernie updates even if he might have been a little naughty.

Thank you @Spartacus and @Papergirl

It's difficult without a little cat to love but at some point in the future, when I've moved, I'll take on an elderly rescue if I find one where we take to each other

I left her snoozing on our bed with DP, both of them not bothered that she chucked up a massive hairball on the landing (the only place with carpet in the whole house obvs) right in my path to the light switch so I could step on itHmm

I think it was definitely in protest. She’s had a poorly tummy so I’ve been starving her out for 24 hours.

Chillin on the patio with Mama. She got up early at 9.30 so I wasn't out too long, especially as I figured if I came in when Dad went to work I could get the boy to feed me

Oh, ERNIE!

How time has passed - only a few months ago your slaves were having to cut a path to your toilet and then thaw the ground for you!

Have you planted him some cat grass?

Report
Papergirl1968 · 16/07/2018 11:21

That would be a lovely thing to do, Lobster when the time is right. It’s still early days, make sure you look after yourself.

Report
Oldraver · 16/07/2018 13:17

Yes Ernie had cat grass and catmint planted which he largely ignores for the much nicer water grass.... well any grass that is not his. He's now wandered off to his other house but not before checking his borders and having a chill

Ahh lobster, hugs for you. I think that's a lovely idea. Give yourself time xxx

It has finally rained here and Freya and Maisie both stood outside in it looking confused, then came in and yelled at me. Apparently they had forgotten about the existence of water from the sky Grin
